Will Humboldt Bay be your Midway? I hope so, for the sake of oppressed people under the Japanese yoke everywhere! Great update, I can't wait for more.

I hope that it was your Midway. If it's the case, the road to Japan will be open.

DDs+AA? Not bad at all for a pure-carrier fleet. It must be your doctrines and CAGs that's making this so even, as well as defending beyond command limit.

@Austria Hungary: Remember, the AI has unlimited range for naval vessels.

@ColonelIronboot: Well i am sorta guessing here, but I think they have about 12 or 14 carriers left now. Thats not bad, considering they had like 24 before the war began. However, it has come at the cost of my veteran carrier groups. Perhaps thats not a bad thing though, since i am now replacing them with brand new, modern carriers.

@Karaiskandar: Well, the road is not open, but it is a bit easier now.

@Ciryandor: That, and the fact that Koga's fleet has 9 carriers, so they always outnumber me in straight up battles. Defending over the command limit seems to help actually, since it gives those Japanese CV's something else to shoot at.

@everyone else: Thanks for your comments!

US marines fight hard to clear the island of Mindanao of Japanese presence. The marines succeed, with the Japanese troops fleeing by small boats to Negros.

in the middle east, the city of Tehran, garrisoned by the Persian Army's best troops, is finally overrun by a massive Russian assault. Whats left of Persia's government quickly surrenders, with Persia now being split between both Russia and the Ottoman Empire.

Due to the US navy's devastating losses to the IJN, the US government switches most military industrial production to the rebuilding of the navy's combat capability. In this effort, American shipyards lay down the keels for a brand new class of supercarriers. These vessels, the first of which will be completed by 1948, will be the most powerful warships in the entire planet, and should finally give the United States the decisive edge it so badly needs at sea.

Three more aircraft carriers come off the production line and enter service. These new carriers are grouped with a large number of brand new escort ships, and sent into the pacific under the command of Admiral Kinkaid.

US marines, exhausted from marching through huge amounts of thick jungles, are halted in their advance by the Japanese garrison at Lae. Clearly, more reinforcements will be needed to finally break through Japanese lines here.

Admiral Kinkaid takes command of most of Halsey's carriers, merging them into his own fleet. His taskforce now heads towards the Philippines, to aid the ground advance there.

He arrives just as the Japanese launch a counter attack in the Philippines, landing thousands of soldiers in southern Luzon as well as Leyte. Kinkaid soon chases away the transports that ferried these troops to the Philippines, as US marines launch a successful counterattack on Leyte island.

The other Japanese landing, at Lamon Bay, is also quickly crushed. Note that these are actually not Japanese troops, but rather a mix of Australasian marines and Manchu mountaineers, commanded by a Manchu general.

Meanwhile, the Ottoman Empire, with the support of troops from Eastern Europe and Russia, finally overruns the Arab state of Oman. This finally finishes the middle east war in complete victory for the Mitteleuropan alliance, which now controls a huge amount of the world's oil reserves.

US forces redeploy from the western half of New Guinea to the front line in the east, greatly increasing their combat power. The marines and mountaineers lead the charge as US forces pound the enemy lines, finally overrunning the Japanese and ANZAC positions and securing the air and naval bases in the area.

Lol, I just meant the incredible randomness of it.

Also, good luck with the IXs, they have always served me well!

Ottomans and Russians have gone wild. :D

Looks like those Ukranians are still pissed about the whole anexation thing.

Those carriers will sure come in handy, though what if Germany is doing the same thing? Mabe Japan has something up their sleeve as well...

I wonder why India hasn't attacked Afganistan to seize the former British areas held by the latter...
And also, is that Shanquing Tianquo (spelled correctly?) in Sinkiang?

Not bad, but those DD-Vs need to transfer to Transport protection groups or SAGs when you have enough escorts to go around. Soaking hits will be much easier w/ a CL-exclusive fleet for your CVs.

question, does it seem kinda broken that I killed 3 Battle ships, one Battlecruiser, 2 Carriers and a bunch of escorts (levels 1-3) with 8 level 4 light cruisers today? (lost 6 of em)

I would make a dash for the Japanese mainland as soon as the Philippines are secured to end the war soon. Soften them up with a nuke or two, then para drop troops or make a landing along the coast.

Maybe luck or better doctrines on your side.
Weather can play an important role also.

Well, weather is the most important factor here. If you were doing gunnery during a rainstorm, those carriers would be useless, and would have just soaked A LOT of hits from your CLs, and if you had Fleet In Being as your doctrine, that just makes them much more lethal than being advanced in the tree in that really long tree the US uses.

I did have very advance docterines at the time, good thing I invest a lot into naval docterines. Though the CLs were acting as escorts for my transports. Also a good thing I unloaded the troops befor they got into a fight with the main enemy fleet, half of which was sent to the bottom of the sea. But one thing that bothers me is the battleships. Sure, they probobly killed most of my fleet, but 3 of them were destroyed in the process allong with escorts.

What BB class were they? Late-model CLs can batter BBs because they have similar range, especially with Fire Control attachments, (in fact, with FC, they outrange CAs and earlier BCs, IIRC) and with a 3-1 advantage in numbers, it's going to result in much more hits/ship, conversely, though 1 BB hit can really damage a CL, with 8 CLs, those hits are likely to be well-distributed, not to mention that if you had empty TPs in that fleet, some of them may have soaked the BB damage.

Amazing AAR:D

And I know this has probably been asked before - but what GFX pack are you using? I'm gonna have to try it out:D

Anyway - I'll be following much more diligently from here on out;)
