Couple of things:

1, Why do the Scots have cores over all of Ireland and the north of England? Really strange decision IMO. I could understand Northumberland (for a permanent CB on England) but Yorkshire/Lancashire and IRELAND???

2, I remember reading that Timur wrote letters to Charles VI - so maybe the Timurids could have knowledge of some of France? Languedoc and Provence, maybe?

3, Henry IV should be a leader. :D Not great stats, but he should be.

I meant to report something else but I forgot it. I'll let you know if I remember. :eek:o

For what it's worth, here's my leader file for the period:

Oh, I think it was that England has no core on Gascogne. It had been English since the 13th century so they should I think. :D

Just give them a claim, like with Normandy and Calais.

Ditto for 1419 (not your mod I know, but you can report it) - they can lose all their claims in France with the end of the HYW event.

EDIT: Also, Iraq is still Sunni and the Timurids' cores seem very random. They're not connected. Is this intentional?

Garbon, I've revised my English monarchs somewhat.

I wanted to try and link back up with historical monarchs, and I generally dislike long lists of fantasy monarchs - so at present it goes Richard II > Edmund Mortimer > Richard of York, then links up with the historical House of York with Edward IV in March 1461.

I then took a plunge and if you decide to not overthrow Edward V (and get Richard III, Henry VII, etc.) he rules until 1547 (old kings ftw!) and is succeeded by Edward VI (Tudor).

The Richard III (historical) choice is only available if the WotR have taken place (which require Henry VI) - so you won't get both Richard and his father ruling as Richard III, which would be a sort of bug, cus obviously the son would need to be Richard IV.

So, the default Plantagenet senior line is: Richard II, Edmund, Richard III, Edward IV, Edward V, Edward VI, Mary, Elizabeth, James, etc.

If you select Boilingbroke to usurp Richard II (default historical choice) then it goes Richard II, Henry IV, Henry V, Henry VI, Henry VII, Henry VIII, Edward VI, Mary, Elizabeth, James, etc.

The default Yorkist choice (with WotR) without usurping Edward V would be Henry VI, Edward IV, Edward V, Edward VI, Mary, Elizabeth, James, etc - the same as the senior Plantagenet line, as it's essentially the same line, just with a usurpation instead of natural inheritance.

So the only way to get Henry VII and Henry VIII is either with Boilingbroke (and no WotR, or if WotR, you choose Lancastrians) or if with the WotR and you choose Yorkists and Gloucester usurps Edward V in 1483.

Simple... :D

Well, at present I just linked up with them to make things a bit easier for me (I dislike shit loads of sleep/wake commands) - I'll obviously write event text for this sort of stuff, to explain to the player how it happened.

But I just planned on having Edward VI as a son of Edward V or something, as opposed to the actual historical Tudor king.

I guess I could have it so the Tudors get the throne through some sort of freak inheritance, but tbh I'd find it very difficult to justify without the Wars of the Roses, and certainly without Boilingbroke's usurpation.

Margaret Beaufort had a better claim to the French throne than the English. :eek:o

Any suggestions your side of the fence? I just prefer to link back up with historical monarchs - I don't want to have a complete 1389 - 1789 set of monarchs for Richard II's heirs, and then another set for Henry IV's.

As a rule, I tend to dislike alternative monarchs, I just did quite a lot of the AGCEEP 'cus they were historical/plausible, but with the death of Richard III (and then Margaret Pole in c16) the Plantagenet line is dead, so I don't see how you can just assume various people had kids that survived, and then when they died, etc - they'd essentially be a fantasy line.

Yeah I'm still working it out. It's actually quite confusing because I don't want to have to have duplicate Yorkist monarchs (ie, to wake them during the WotR if I I've already slept them in 1399) - nor do I particularly want Boilingbroke non-dormant as he is obviously a usurper, and Richard II should live longer.

Nonetheless, ignoring the who is or isn't dormant part, here's my list (which is pretty much finalised) - I mention it because you seem to have a gap in your monarch list, between the coronation of Henry IV and the ascension of Richard of Conisburgh (why have him succeed, and not his elder brother, Edward of Norwich? They both died in 1415 anyway...)

Out of interest, I would use the date of the usurpation and not the date of the coronation - Edward V for example was never crowned.

Anyway:

Garbonian (to use your adjectival form), how doth thy mod cometh along? :p

You should add EGUFSM shields with 1.2 :)

Austen.

Oh, I have also noticed that the Calais bridgehead event fires at the start of the second two scenarios, when really I suppose it ought to have fired between the first and second.

Perhaps it would be an idea to sleep the event and have Calais start as English after 1337?

(I shall post other minor bugs I encounter here, should you wish).

Austen.

Thanks for pointing that out. Foolish bug that. :eek:o

Have you tried Jamie550's validator? I highly recommend it; I was going to make a list of bugs it found, but it got too long.

It does raise a number of false positives, but it noticed (for instance) that most of the AI files in revolt.txt are wrong. They point to .ai files that have since been renamed to _ai.txt files.

AGCEEP point to .ai while vanilla point to _.txt ...............which is correct?

because AGCEEP play very very good historically from my 10 or so games?

Umm... take a look at the AI folder of the mod?
Vanilla AI is named .txt, AGCEEP AI is named .ai - there is no "correct" extension, I could name my AI files .blah if I felt like it.
There are some references to AI files that don't exist in AGCEEP by the way, like "peaceful.ai", "default.ai", "seasian.ai", "FRA_HYW.ai", "POR_1419_JoaoI.ai", ...
Someone really should properly validate AGCEEP.

I still have the same problem with 1.11 - have you held the fix back for 1.2?

originally all AGCEEP ( most) where named after a reigning monarch of that nation, about 3 years ago, they where changed to what we have. The peaceful, GEN and others might be vanilla default leftovers.

as far as I am concerned , my AGCEEP games, be them 1.2 and the beta one works properly with the ai that are present now.........I do not know about vanilla because I have never looked at it, besides, I did not like what they did to vanilla files which was to use AGCEEP ones and change them.
Try to fix them, good luck :D when you have no target to aim for.

I will work on AGCEEP when 1.58 is uploaded as i did a lot of work on 1.58.
