New Russian goverment was very special in many ways. Altough Russian republic became federation of Soviets, Socialists had to share the power with people from military. This type of regime was negotiated in secret agreement between army and Socialists before the revolution. Because republic was controled by autocratic regime in Moscow, there was no legal opposition in Russia. Socialists used deprivation of political pluralism to build strong underground political network. They had spreaded their influence across the country and waited for their chance to take the power.

Many people in military were not very pleased with strange alliance between Russia and China. They were concerned about suspicious business that was going on between Moscow and Beijing. Generals were often saying that Russia is turning into Chinese puppet. Tones of finest Russian weapons were sent to China and Chinese generals were making most important decisions without participation of Russian military. Shanghai alliance was controled by China in most centralised and absolutistic way. Proud Russian military leaders could not bear such humiliation any more. Russian military intelligence started to spy on most secret decisions of Russian president.

Military was shocked when they discovered that Russian goverment is planning to sell most advanced missile technology to China. Something had to be done. Secret talks with illegal political opposition were established. Military was strong and influental factor in Russian state, but it hadn't much support among the people. They couldn't risk another civil war. After days of negotiating and planning, they were ready for action. Three marine divisions under command of admiral Masorin surrounded Moscow. But they didn't have to attack. Admiral had personally visited president Putin in his office and explained him the situation. President had to resign. New goverment has offered him pleasant life in Russia if he stays out of politics, but he didn't agree. Many people in the army say that Putin rather chosed exile and moved to Switzerland, altough he wasn't interested in politics any more. When he was leaving Russia, he had only one thing to say: ''I did everything to save Russia. You don't know what are you doing.''

Socialists declared new labour state and Soviet Russia quickly found new allies in Internationale. Military chosed admiral Vladimir Masorin for Chairman of the Supreme Military Commitee. He became formal head of state, while Gennadiy Seleznev became General Secretary of Socialist Party and de facto strongest man in Russian politics. Socialists gained control over most civil institutions and military preserved it's autonomous position. New parliament with two chambers was established. The lower house represented people of Soviet Russia, while federal senate represented federal republics. Socialists became single political power in the parliament.

Internationale was now reinforced with new member. Gaining even more self-confidence, they decided to expand to Africa. Isolated Ethiopia responded to their invitation and entered Syndicalist alliance. Internationale now gained strong base in African continent. Germans responded with establishment of military junta in Mittelafrika. German Kaiser believed that more centralised and autocratic regime will prevent awakening of Syndicalist movements in German Africa. German domination in Africa was now facing new threats.

And now Kerry discovers a sudden urge to begin a nukearization of any Syndie nation on the Earth...

A pity he's not the only one with nukes at hand...

Its a very strange cabinet for a communist Russia, but I suppose strange things can happen in 70 years of alternative history.

There are five socialist ministers and five ministers from military. I made cabinet like this because those two factions revolted against old goverment.

Nuclear winter? :p

That sort of makes sense, but Seleznev is the only Communist in that Government. Primakov is a center-right ultra nationalist, Nurgaliev is a former military and KGB hardliner, and Shebarshin should be retired, he is over 80! Of course, alternate history and all of that, but there are plenty of real Communist politicians in Russia.

Primakov has never been an ultra-nationalist. A hardliner, yes, he used to head the SVR, the Russian foreign intellegence service, but not a radical nationalist. He was in favour of pragmatic foreign policy and counter-balancing the West, though.

Sorry to offtop, but...
Could I have a source of that information?
Because Rodina as a nationalist party formed in 2003, when Primakov was out of politics (internal, at least) and President of Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
Before that, he supported Fatherland – All Russia electoral bloc, which had no clear political agenda, but absolutely no radical nationalist views. Neither can I recall any nationalist claims by Primakov, who is partly Georgian by blood and spent his childhood in Tbilisi.

My apologies, you seem to be absolutely correct. I must be mistaking him for some other politician. I feel very embarrassed, considering I am usually very much on top of Russian politics. Still, he is certainly not a Communist.
