Tony Blair leads Syndie UK :rofl::rofl:

Looks like Mitteleuropa will be the biggest power by far

Hmmm. There's alot of pink persons there. I expected it to be more... radical. :(

Yeah, MDS team didn't include many Socialist politics for those nations. France is exception since it has real Socialist ministers as you can see on images. Britain had some lady for LWR but she doesen't have picture so I had to use Blair instead. Same thing for Mexico(Fox is ML). Brazilian president is some mix of SD-LWR and Georgia has only Saakashvili as center-left. Vietnamese ministers are most radical of all.

But remember: This is alternate world. :D

The real life head of the house of Hohenzollern (a.k.a. heirs of the Kaiser) is Georg Friedrich Ferdinand von Hohenzollern. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Georg_Friedrich,_Prince_of_Prussia

If he was a real Kaiser, though, he would take on a coronation name more like his forefathers... probably his middle name, Friedrich, thus making him Kaiser Friedrich IV. of Germany.

(Unless his father was Friedrich IV. already, then of course he would be Friedrich V.)

Austria might be ruled by Otto von Habsburg (born 1912, really old now), who would rule as Otto I.

Viv la Revolucion, more Syndies than I thought.

Who rules America?

I wonder about the new Czar...

I don't think that Portugal should be in Mitteleuropa, if there were the colonial wars in this timeline... It should be neutral or member of the Entete.

Also, there aren't enough syndie in my opinion. They can be crushed them easily by Mitteleuropa, specially if a human is against them... Maybe Spain?

nice
but what is that nation that has northern ex-Yu areas?

Vienna, 12 October 2003

The meeting of minister cabinet has just started. It was time to present current situation in Austria to Kaiser. According to constitution of Austrian Empire, it is right and duty of monarch to participate in system of goverment. Every legislative act has to be signed by monarch to gain it's legality and monarch has right to use absolute veto on all bills. The minister cabinet is chosen by Kaiser and confirmed by majority of votes in federal senate and national assembly. Senators are chosen by national parlaments. Every federal entity has two representatives in senate no matter on it's size or population. Representatives of national assembly are voted on direct elections by citizens of empire. Because senators and representatives are not paid for their work and are forbidden to have any other job than their work in parliament, many of them came from aristocratic part of society. This makes strong political base for conservative monarchic regime and prevents formation of liberal political system.

Austrian Empire is centralised federation with strong monarchic elements. Unlike modern federations that consists of federal republics, Austria is divided into many monarchic entities, classified by size of their territory and population. Those are Kingdoms, Duchies and Grand Dutchies. Dual monarchy lasted from first Ausgleich in 1867 to Ausgleich of 1937. In early 1937 dual state was on edge of collapse. Altough Austria-Hungary was meant to be loose federation of two monarchies, it became weak confederation after Weltkrieg. System like that was politically and economically ineffective and there were only two solutions: Centralisation or separation. Austrian proposal of centralised monarchy was declined by Hungarians in negotiations in 1937. Hungary declared independence and war erupted.

Luckily for Austrians, semi-independent entities of Bohemia, Galicia, Croatia and Bosnia decided to fight on Austrian side and Hungarians were defeated. Monarchy was centralised again and decades of insurance followed. Regime in Vienna hardly controled it's own territory. Multinational state could not survive in this shape. To make things even worse, Syndicalist ideas influenced masses of people to opose oppressive regime. Daily attacks of revolutionary and nationalist organisations were crippling power of Vienna.

Solution came in early 1957 when negotiations called Ausgleich were restored. All nations of empire participated in negotiations with their demands and proposals. After several months of arguing they managed to find solution suitable for all. Monarchy was federalised, but not in dualistic way like before. All federal units published their own constitutions that had to suit federal constitution. Kingdoms received greatest self-governance, grand duchies had to give some of their sovereign rights to federation while duchies enjoyed only limited autonomy. Vienna became metropolitan city with special status that hosted main federal institutions. Many of former administrative units were merged and renamed to fit their historical situation.

Despite the rule of German dinasty, Germans were not major nation of monarchy. They were representing little more than 20% of population, altough they had great influence on political and economical life of monarchy. Multinational state had to accept many demands of it's nations. In years that followed many new rights were achieved. Altough all nations of monarchy are equal now and all people can achieve high positions in military, politics and economy no matter on their social status and nationality, Austrian Empire is still very autocratic. Syndicalist movements are banned and groups that fight for separation from monarchy are considered as terrorist organisations. There is high level of censorship in culture and journalism. As in most of other countries, internet is controled by state and used mostly by military and most important public services for purpose of communication. Most major nations have developed their own internet technology which is shared with their allies. Major alliances have established their own satellite networks and are competing in space exploration.

Members of Kaiser's cabinet were ready to report. Foreign Minister was first to start. ''Your Majesty, today we had pretty complicated situation in Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We received special mail with some documents. Right on top of the first paper it said that our independence is now guaranteed by United States.'' People in room were suprised. ''Why would Americans guarantee our independence? Our relations with them are not very good.'' responded one of ministers. ''But there is nothing to worry about,'' said foreign minister. ''We discovered that it was only error in translation. United Baltic Duchy has just guaranteed our independence.''

Report from Minister of Security was much more concerning. Massive demonstrations in cities of Transylvania were still raging. He suspected that Iron Guard Romania is behind this. Head of Intelligence proved his fear. He reported that Serbian and Romanian ground troops are massing near borders of Bosnia and Transylvania. Higher stage of alert was ordered for Austrian border troops and additional reinforcements were sent in eastern part of empire. More reports about border incidents showed that Belgrade Pact is planning something. In the morning hours Greek destroyer moved into Austrian territorial waters of Kefalonia. Ship sailed away after Austrian fighter plane spotted it.

After concerning news from Minister of Intelligence it was time for economical reports. Austrian economy was stable but it lacked foreign investments that would speed up it's growth. Kaiser agreed to sign new public bill on foreign investments that would allow greater role of foreign capital in economy. Meeting of imperial cabinet had finished and ministers returned to their work.

Nice and original modding here, I'm subscribed.

No Emperor Otto :(. Ah well, even emperors retire in this day and age.

The Dual Monarchy seems to go better than ever!

If we forget the neighborhood, of course...:D

Awesome

No Emperor Otto :(. Ah well, even emperors retire in this day and age.

Since real life heirs of Habsburg and Preussen dynasties are not political figures, I decided not to use them as heads of states. I hope you don't mind if I use fictional monarchs.

I love the HoS for Iron Guard Romania's sunglasses. Who is it?

Corneliu Vadim Tudor.
