Hello I'm beginning a 1936 AAR as the Empire of Japan
the settings are as follows
Difficulty:normal
Agressiveness:normal
Game Setup: Armageddon 1.3 Beta 2 SMEP/DAIM/Cold war tech tree (RWYO)
Objective: Survive/Take over the world...
Hopefully this AAR will bring excitement... there will be loads of pictures and mostly gameplay and perhaps a little Writing background as basis... Anyways Enjoy!
First things first... I move my Sliders 1 Central planning and i change a few ministers...
Then i switch over to production and decide not to scrap the two ships in production as One is a CV that is useful and the other is a destroyer that will probably be used for ASW later when my Level IV ships come off the build que for now Though I focus on getting rid of the dissent.
Research
obviously i'm focusing on improving my Industrial and Infantry technology also I see the possibility of using Armour if i have the spare IC to do so maybe in 1942-43... But its low priority pretty much the only thing i can research early without a penalty
Strategy
For starters I redeploy all my forces In Manchukuo to Dailian to be picked up to be sent home deleting any brigades except Military Police All homeland Divisions i redeploy to Tokyo... All of my airforce to Akita and all of my navy to Tokyo. I send the first Completed 3 division army to the border with shanxi in tangshan. I intend to pull off all my island garrisons... To use as Garrisons for Land conquered during the game. Now i'm ready to start the game!
Janurary 2nd 1936
Lt. Tojo a tank buster takes command of the first Tactical bombing squadron!
While Yamashita takes over Command of Interceptors! Since we have a severe shortage of Energy and Metal and rares I approach the soviet union with this deal!
and they Accept... but i'm still short Energy and Money so i approach the USA with this deal.
They also accept!
this gives me a nice surplus of resources coming in
A few days later i begin reorganization of the IJN the most Important part of a japanese players gameI place the Akagi and the Kaga with my two light carriers and my 2 Level IV Light crusiurs... I give command to this first Carrier task force to Admiral Yammamoto the next assignment is given to Nagano who leads the first SAG task force, then Koga in command of 2nd SAG force, Fukudome in command of 3rd SAG force and Ozawa in command of 4th SAG force... My SAG force will Blockade china from receiving any resources! Hopefully Before my attack against the west all my fleets will have received Better screens and Light carriers! That concludes the first update... enjoy!
On feburary 7th 1936... Dissent finally plummits to 0 and Upgrades begin on the severely Outdated Japanese forces. A deal was made with the soviets in late janurary to Sort out our Shortage of Oil... This deal was very good for the people of Japan! Blueprints for technology have been traded to our puppet of Manchukuo in order for them to modernize their forces!
On feburary 26th 1936 Kodoha officers attempt to storm the Imperial palace they are Crushed... My reasoning for this is I don't want to lose Gotaro and My Central planning will be shifted full on it own via a Smep event
This leaves me with 1 dissent which i focus on paying off!
On march 6th 1936 Order is firmly restored and we go back reinforcing and refiting our Glorius army navy and airforce with new Weapons and armaments!
We received word from the german ambassador that the Rhineland has been reoccupied this should Make the world turn a deaf ear to our Campaign in planning in China
On march 10th i get an event to change my head of government I don't because it would mess up my cabinet setup so i take 3 Dissent!
On march 28th 1936 Italy annexes Ethopia!
My destroyer is finished and assigned to Ozawas Fleet! in April!
April 8th 1936 all dissent is payed down and upgrades begin again!

April 10th Mechanized Argiculture is finished and work starts on Argichemistry by Mitsubishi
On April 19th Mitsui finished Basic machine tools and Starts on rocket test and research facility (if i have spare IC I will build some rocket sites just for the development of ICBM's later and Jet aircraft!
April 23, basic calvery is finished and research into better air doctrines for our tactical and naval bombers starts
In may 16th 1936 My border defense is setup in Arrangment of 16-13-13 with more troops on the way as soon as upgrades are done

On June 5th Early tank is finished and improved machine tools starts. On june 16th Atomic research labs is finished and early mountain division is started
On august 1st 1936 Argichemistry is finished. Rear area vehicle repair is started!August 12 Operational destruction doctrine is finished and basic escort fighter is started by mitsubishi
Upgrades are finished and production is started on new Armaments... Convoys Transports Infantry Light Carriers and Light Crusiur screens!
On september 27th 1936 Rocket test site research is finished and agricultural production is started. On October 30th 1936... Improved Machine tools is finished and Battlefield interdiction is started
On november 13th 1936 early mountain division is completed and work starts on semi-motorized calvery
November 22nd 1936 Rear area vehicle repair shop is finished and work starts on Advanced machine tools
November 25th 1936 Infantry production is stopped and Mountain divisions are started
So ends the first year of the empire of the rising sun

What program do i use for cropping Photoshop? I think the Shanxi flag is from the cold war tech tree mod... There are some other awesome flags as well... for instance the Other Chinese warlords have great flags as well like yuunan!Originally Posted by Tommy4ever

Time for another update It's 1937 now! I change my cabinet again to get Additional manpower! and move +1 standing army
and here is a shot of our current technology projects
On Feburary 9th 1937 Basic escort fighter is finished Basic interceptor is researched now as well.
On feburary 19th 1937 argicultural production is finished and advanced construction is starting
On feburary 21st 1937 the first two Light Cruisurs are produced and assigned to Yammamotos Carrier fleet!
On feburary 23, 1937 7 escort fighters in serial are started in production!
March 8th 1937 Battlefield interdiction is finished and Logistical Strike doctrine starts
March 12th 1937 Semi-motorized Calvary is finished and strafing doctrine is started
On march 28th 1937 the first mountain corps is ready in tokyo and transported to Tangshen... to take its place at the chinese border!
On June 5th 1937 I get controlling the army and Prince Konoe Fumimaro is installed as head of government
On june 24th 1937 Advanced machine tools is finished and work begins on Improved Destroyer
On June 28th 1937 Logistical strike doctrine is finished and work begins on basic decryption devices!
On July 8th 1937 Marco polo bridge incident fires Here is the order of battle for the campaign so far!
Next update: first 6 months of war till Janurary 1938!

Hmmm i took the second option and "listened to their demands" in the 2-26 incident. It just seemed it gave me some really nice benefits on the sliders and the minister loss wasn't THAT bad.
China's going to be an imperial pain in the butt but you'll get it eventually
Oh i usually go with Listen to their demands but in SMEP the event chain is different/better with Crushing the Coup... I'm testing that right now! China will be a walk in the park... I'm testing a new buildup strategy in this game... Thanks for your comment!

I am using GIMP, and I am having a hard time convincing myself to go back to Photoshop. Mostly because it's free, and handles most of basic and medium graphics chores relatively easier. Just Google GIMP.
It takes a little while to figure out all the doo-dads and is not as user friendly as photoshop, but its fast once you start to get to know it.
Your AAR reminds me, must build convoys.
Japan v. China is also one of the best 1 v 1 unofficial battle scenarios.

Hi, I've installed HOI2 DD ARMA 1.3b with graphics impr., SKIF and the Cold War tech...And it's awsome...Though the game is really pretty, it's...just...DAIM-less!!!
So please tell me what do i have to do to make DAIM compatible with my game, I've tried but failed several times!
DAIM USERS SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
1) Install DAIM last (after this mod)
2) Choose one of these two options
Option A: This gives you the Cold War events package
change the line
include = "db\events.txt"
to read
include = "db\events2.txt"
in these files:
scenarios\1936.eug
scenarios\1938.eug
scenarios\1939.eug
(These files are installed by DAIM)
here is your Answer... just replace that one line and run the regular road to war scenario everything will work fine... Had to cancel this AAR cause Smep/DAIM/Cold War is very buggy.
