Unfortunately I doubt it. Turkey was not mobilized and so the units I faced were all understrength, so the battles were quick. I could also attack every single VP at the same time so the entire country was defeated after essentially 2 battles. (I had meant to go into more details with Bulgaria and Yugoslavia but I am too tired and want to try and pick the speed up and then focus on more interesting battles in campaigns that have some element of risk or last more than a couple of days.)
30th September 1939 : Japan declares war on Greece
2nd Oct : Japan decalres war on Bulgaria
Italy was already at war with Greece by the time Japan attacked. However, while the Italian troops struggled in the hills on the Greek border, Japanese troops parachuted right into the cities.
In Bulgaria Japan was vastly out numbered in terms of divisions. However , Bulgaria was not mobilized and any chances they had of a prolonged defence were wiped out as waves of Japanese paratroopers continued to arrive.
Greece Surrendered on the 3rd of October, Bulgaria on the 8th.
(Who said this was getting repetitive...)
9th -> 13th October : Japanese war with Yugoslavia
14th October : Japanese attack Romania
16th October : Japanese attack Hungary
They surrender on the 20th and 22nd of October respectively.

I think its safe to say that paratroopers are pretty broken... although theyre less effective vs countries that go GiE because their troops stick around so you cant avoid combat with them (in my current game theres only about 8 countries left not in a faction :P).
I say attack Germany to make it interesting.
The "problem" with this sort of approach is that it is easy to know where to land and what to do. Once you are passed a certain point - and especially against small countries - there isn't really all that much opposition (a problem with all HoI games I know)

I think it would be good to see Vichy, Spain and then UK fall over, before going onto Germany/Italy. Things could really heat up then.

I am just too much of a coward to attack Germany I thinkFairly sure I could knock Italy out quickly but I suspect I would end up getting driven back by Germany. I also have been under investing in hard attack and paratroopers are poor at it anyway, so I would likely get mauled by tanks. Germany would have no other land border to attack other than me and I imagine there would quickly be a lot of troops heading in my direction. Think Barbarossa but focused down through the Balkans!
As such my current plan for tonight is a cowardly assault on Vichy, then I can at least scope out what the British Isles defenses look like. It could be at that point I spot several hundred divisions hanging around the south of England and get scared. Then move back to planning to attack Germany... Maybe it is time to start researching anti tank weapons?
You'll need to research anti tank weapons as your future adversaries will have tanks anyway. How about gobbling up some other small countries and then preparing for a massive, humongous, awe inspiring, wide-front Balkans through Central asia to the Pacific airborne assault on the USSR?

After taking eastern Europe I have 295 Paratrooper Brigades, I think there are another 55 brigades due to be completed in later November. After that my manpower stock pile will be almost out.
My monthly manpower increase is ~ 65 so technically it should be possible to build 3 paratrooper divisions ( 5 brigades using 4 manpower per brigade = 20 manpower per division) However, a lot of manpower is getting eaten up in reinforcements. If I move my industry to focus on more planes then they still use up some manpower, I suspect I may end up struggling to build more than 1 division per month from now on.
I have not opened the game up as Germany/USSR/USA to check how many brigades they have. I suspect it is a lot more than 300 and many of them will be armored. I could also disband the remaining infantry I have guarding Japan itself. That would give me another heap of manpower, but I would be nervous that somebody might land a giant stack of divisions in Tokyo.
How's you airforce in general doing? If you're running short on manpower then maybe it would be a good idea to invest in fighters and bombers, it'll probably be better use of your IC and your remaining manpower can be used for reinforcements.

I have been constantly building 2 or 4 wings of transports, a single wing of two engine planes and a single one engine planes.
I think the last major outing of anything other than transport planes was during the invasion of Australia. After that they have all been sitting back in mainland Japan. I occasionally take the strategic bombers out to do some long range recon.
Since capturing the middle east fuel supplies are not really a worry. So I guess a more active role might be nice. For eventual war with Germany I suspect that I will need considerably more interceptor cover. Then I should be able to use strategic bombers to cut their supply lines and tactical bombers to soften up their attacking units and speed up battles. (Or at worst slow down loosing battles!)
Okay, I normally don't complain about this kind of stuff, but this is ridiculous - even a minor power should be able to defend itself against parachute assault if the transports are unescorted and the airforce of that minor power is in tact.
