I purchased East India Comapny for my son's 10th birthday and installed successfully but only the intro will play. At end of intro the game quits. I've looked for patches related to this to no avail. Please help. My son would love to play this game!

Do you have the game patched to the latest version? There may be a fix for this in one of the game patches.
I'll keep looking. I've tried a couple of patches that weren't it. I just can't stand Vista.
Please install the newest patch so your game is 1.06, not all fixes are mentioned in the logs so you never know if your issue was addressed or not. Also give us log.html contents from your game directory right after the crash so we know what caused the game to die.
