We already talked about this. And the counter-argument to your request was the fact that if you want to quickly surrender ships a confirmation pop-up would delay that action and result in losing the ship.
I know devs had some plans to alleviate this problem but I don't recall what exactly the plan was. Maybe someone with better memory will remind us.
