indeed, german version is much better than in "normal" paradox-games, but some errors are included, too.

often, the cultural string is needed, but the country-string is shown: e.g. "Die Schwedene Kompanie..." and such stuff.
grammar is a little bit curios, e.g. "Vernichtet niederländisch Flotten." or "Soldaten der einheimischen Truppen von 328 haben..."

these and some errors more are now gone away!

download the following file and replace the file with the same name in your folder .../East India Company/Data/Locales/en/

download with Rightclick and "Target save under...":
_strings.txt

please make a copy of the original file before overwriting!
and: this file is only for the german version of the game.

@devs: feel free to use it in one of your next patches.

edit: the file is for the 1.06 version - please install the 3rd patch first!

try to change the _strings.txt first. i hope, most text-messages are working.

but i think, the spoken parts of the game are localized ogg-files, which where only delivered with the localized versions. i bought a german version via gamersgate, which contains german spoken messages.

thx m8...changing the _strings.txt worked, all written stuff is German now.

Well, in other Paradox games they kept a eye on multilangual versions, i guess EIC is third party title so they brought out different versions.

Probably i could get me those .ogg files anywhere...
