Question regarding Blitzkrieg stance; can anyone choose it?

even countries which army doctrines completely contrary to it?

The stance is just there to guide the AI according to your own personal wishes.

If you tell a WWI army to go to "Blitz" Stance, that army will operate with the intent of achieving breakthroughs on its front with the enemy and exploiting those breakthroughs with flanking attacks and encirclements.

Now, said WWI army may not be optimized for such strategy, which means my WW2 German Army will be able to quickly counter such attempted breakthroughs with my faster armored and motorized forces and possibly even catch them in an encirclement myself.

Has nothing to do with doctrine, but your doctrine and force composition will make it much more effective.

If you look at the leading units in the screen shot those are mainly motorised our mountain. The majority of the troops trailing behind are infantry.

Argh. :D

I actually read that as "motorized out mountain". And then I went back to the screenie and imagined seeing little "wheels" on the counters. But alas, I was drooling for nothing. :(

Even if motorized mountain troops sound a bit counterproductive.

Italy, as many countries, did have it's own set of tactics for rapid advancement.

Guerra di Corso Rapido in this case.

My question is if I do take over Yugoslavia I don't really want to keep all the provinces. Is it possible to select which provinces I want to keep(coast) and puppet the rest of the country into a smaller Yugoslavia?

I know in previous games you had to change core provinces to make this possible.

Thanks for the update, nice to see AI Theater control in action!

Every update just makes me want this game more...

Sorry if it have already been explained in a previous Dev. D. but why in the diplomacy screen under Yugoslavia there is a kind of motto 'Narodna stranika (sp?) etc..'. ? Will each country have a customisable one?

I'm just curious. :)

Pretty cool AAR. My brain's too fried right now to think of any questions, and I'm not sure if I'd have any anyway. :p

Great AAR, too bad the Italians got the drop on the Yugoslav Army.

I have one question, would an incrised Italian production of military units make the other nation fell threatened and their mobilization level would rise?

Like say you play as SU and you start cranking out Inf like crazy '38 would your neighbors react to this (if their intelligence services pics up on this of course).

I ask this because I want to know if the AI reacts to your development.

People's Radical Party, judging from Wiki a party important enough to have entered the government, in part, despite a temporary ban on political parties in the late 1920's. Restored in 1930's, though Wiki doesn't say if they were anywhere near to being "in power" in 1938.

building regular troops increases threat.

I´m curious about the duration of the actual battles, and the single video where I´ve seen actual combat (Norwegians versus Swedish militia :D) didin´t really show how fast the vanilla combat system is this time. So, how long did the longest single battle in that campaign last?

Were naval units not given escort or anti-sub missions? It seems yugoslavian subs harming Italian convoys in any significant amount would be a bit much.*

* = Obviously biased comment. :D

Very nice....it is so close...yet so far away!

Ohhhhhh. An exelent update.

Small nitpick tough. The river Sava on the map ain't getting to the Belgrade as it's soposed to.
