I've decided to divide all units into six groups, that differ slightly from the original unit types.

Light infantry: lightly armoured spearmen, swordsmen and javelineers (skirmishers)
Heavy infantry: heavily armoured spearmen, swordsmen and axemen
Missile infantry: slingers, archers, stone throwers etc (usually no armour)
Light cavalry: horse archers and lancers (raiding units) with little or no armour
Heavy cavalry: armoured horsemen, fighting with swords or lances
War Elephants: what they sound like

In vanilla, each culture group has its own set-up of names for their units. The same goes for my units, in fact I've decided to let every unit have a name in the primary language of their culture group. That means there are no "champions" or "warriors". I'll give you a few examples in the list below.

Sorry to suggest more work for you, but is it possible to add more kinds of ships than just triremes?

I must say I'm not entirely sure about what culture means in the context of EUR. Is it language, traditions or both? As far as I know, the Macedonians spoke Greek around the third century BC.

They were similar (that's why Macedonian is in the Hellenic group) but the city-state Greeks were definitely different to the Macedonians.

646 AUC the historical creation date of the marian legionary. I started out with the 647 AUC campaign, and I noticed I can't recruit legionarii. Are they already implemented or, is it just a concept right now?

As I wrote in the New Units thread, I've discovered that it's not possible to add any new units because of the naughty engine. Sorry to disappoint you. :(

nah its all good. Thanks for the reply, and just wanted to tell you it's a great mod :)

Keeping it Greek is best. In that timeframe Macedonian and Greek culture were not that different and the Hellenistic Kingdoms were heavily influenced by Greek culture and science. Macedonians adopted a lot of cultural elements from the Greek world anyway.

But the Greeks considered Alexander's father little better than a barbarian...

The Greek Greeks were quite picky when it came to things like that.

It doesn't seem right to have a Macedonian king with Greek culture, though...
Also, the Hellenic countries should have Pezhetaroi as their HI unit.

Alright, it's official: There won't be any such thing in Imperium 2.0 as culture, as I'll replace it with language.
I've also found a way to separate the unit names for different countries, so the Macedonians will have Pezhetaroi while the other Greeks have Hoplitai. :)
