Hrmmn, a White Russian inflicts the only defeat on China.

Does Kaissereich have the same inherit command for the Chinese factions that vanilla does?

If it does, you killed half your army in Yunnan by encircing and destroying those troops. Remember every division in a Chinese minor belongs to the Republic of China! ...They just don't know it yet.

加油!

Nope, in keiserreich they simpley vanish when you annax.. sadly..

Xesan: China is large, and yet to be unified, more will come.

Eöl: You mean the Bengali Faction? They're jerks, I want nothing to do with them.

Myth: Indeed!

Scorpi & Lord Strange: Thank you kindly, there is more yet to come!

Maj. von Mauser: Yeah, the irony in that did not fail to elude me.

Porkman: No, in KR the RoC is an even bigger revolutionary underdog than CHC is in Vanilla. Which really kind of makes it a lot of fun. Whenever the Revolution takes place and a human player doesn't take control, its almost a guarantee that the AOG will win.

Razbojnik: Its not so bad, whoever doesn't join the army goes to work in the factories, which is just as important!

Finishing Yunnan

fpinitiativeyunnanwar.jpg

As the Yunnan War began drawing to a close, new politicians from around southern china began assembling in Guangzhou to plan the new constitution and determine a foreign policy path for the next five years. Many of them being high powered landlords and businessmen, wanted to end the war and return to the status quo of the AOG. However, many other representatives were outraged by the gall coming from the old establishment. However, after a long and nearly violent debate, the old guard backed down.

chapter031.jpg

After the failed attempt at occupying Baoshan, the Yunnan Warlords began sending an overture of peace to the Republican Government. They offered more than half of their original territory in exchange for continued independence. The Republican Government responded quickly and uncompromisingly, the Yunnan and Sicchan Provinces are all lands controlled by the Republic of China, no other governing entity has legitimate claims over them.

chapter032.jpg

With that, the war continued. But was once a fast and rapid invasion had turned into a slow siege. Fortunately, the allied troops from the Shangqing Tianguo Government sent their best mountain troops to assist in the final destruction of the Yunnan Clique. The Yunnan rabble was outnumbered by over 50,000 and the battle for Xiaguan, while bloody, meant the Republic was one step closer to bringing the Yunnan provinces under control.

chapter033.jpg

As the Republic Inched closer to victory, Germany's lapdogs, the Qing, decide the time was right to rebuild their Empire. As they did not recognize the Republic as a political entity, they continue to go about business as if there was nothing really happening to the south of their political bubble. Soon enough the Republic would prove that state of mind to be incorrect.

chapter035.jpg

With the war drawing to a close, the battle for Baoshan was not nearly as brutal as Republic Military planners expected as many Yunnan soldier laid down their arms and surrendered peacefully to the Republic. With the capture of Baoshan, the Republic now had indisputable control over all of southern China...

germaninterest.jpg

...Which made Germany very nervous.

LOL AT THE KAISER!

The Republic of China will do as it pleases.

I'm sure the Kaiser would take interest no matter what part of his empire or widespread client states trouble is being fomented in. ;)

I would be wary if the Russians and Qing look towards MittleEurope for guidance then this could spell bad news for the blossoming republic you need allies to distract the Kaiser IMHO.

What does either option result in?

Maj. von Mauser & Xesan: Yeah, I don't think he understands the full consequences of his words. However, the Republic knows full well what this means.

Myth: As should any leader of a far-flung empire. But you're sympathies to the Germans has me concerned. >_>

Eöl: The Germans will have additional problems soon enough!

ColossusCrusher: The top one means the continuation of the Revolution! The bottom leads to a lot of dissent and the failure of the Revolution. I think you know which I'm going to pick.

Happenings Around the World (Part 2)

In Asia
New Happenings take place all over India as the three rival factions begin developing their economies and armies.

chapter036.jpg

The British Loyalist Faction - Delhi has begun reorganizing their army in preparation for a potential war with the Syndicalists and Indian Nationalists.

chapter037.jpg

While any chance of Chinese Intervention is impossible, the Republican Government makes it clear which side they want to win. And while the Republic opposes Right-Wing Authoritarian states, the long term plan dictates that Delhi is too loyal to the British Royalist Scum, and Bengal is too radical to trust completely. It was also believed that if necessary the Republic could later launch a coup in the Princely Federation.

chapter038.jpg

While on the topic of the Princely Federation, other developments within that faction convince the Republic that they made the right choice. Any nation that focuses on building their infrastructure over their army has its heart in the right place. However while the other two sides build up their armies, this may not be the right time.

chapter039a.jpg
Later in the month, the Indian Nationalists began expanding their military base. Maybe they have a chance after all...

chapter039b.jpg

...or not.

chapter040.jpg

On January 4th of 1938, the Indian Nationalists completed their first wave of industrial development. And, feeling confident in their progress, began making demands of Germany. Of course, if the Kaiser would not Recognize the Republic of China as a Political Entity, then why would he give up an Island off the Coast of India?

chapter041.jpg

The Bengali Faction begins expanding its own political agenda and has begun fostering Socialist Revolutions in and around South East Asia. Burma is the first to experience the meddling of the Syndicalist International. However, it would not be long before the harsh Right-Wing Dictatorship crushes the Syndicalist Revolutionaries. While the Republic has no love for Syndicalists, nor Fascists, this show of blatant force does bother some within the RoC.

chapter041b.jpg

March 29th 1938 was a busy day, Germany announced the release of some ultra nationalist film, while Hungary annexed the tiny Nation of Serbia. And not surprising to anyone the Indian Civil War began on the urging of Delhi's English Royalist Puppetmasters.

chapter042.jpg

In Central Asia, the former Russian Territory, Turkestan has run roughshod over all its neighbors. Alesh Orda and other smaller countries have been absorbed into this larger nation. Claiming to be the proper heir to the Islamic Caliphate. The RoC does not know what to make of these developments, but they are not good.

In Europe

In the Mediterranean the Syndicalists have been getting more and more aggressive and have declared war upon the Italian Federation. The war lasted for about three months and lead to the utter destruction of the Right-wing Catholic dictatorship there. France had done a majority of the fighting and indeed crushed anything resembling resistance.

chapter043.jpg

With the french annexation of Northern Italy, the Pope himself had to escape the vatican and sought refuge in the Right-wing Catholic state of Carlist Spain, who had also just recently came up in opposition to both the Spanish Kingdom, and the Spanish Syndicalists.

chapter044.jpg

The recent victory against Northern Italy had lead to a boost of confidence in the French and encouraged them to continue bullying their neighbors. One event that surprised even the Chinese was the French bullying of the tiny Swiss Confederation, leading to cession of Geneva to the Commune. In an act of friendship to thier Italian Allies, the Commune also returned the Northern Italian Territories to the Sicilians. (Redrawing the Map Event)

The Americas

chapter045.jpg

Nowhere else in the world was the Chinese Revolutionary Leadership watching more closely than the Second American Civil War. With the Revolutionary Government sending overtures to the USA on a nearly weekly basis, it was no surprise whom the Republic wanted to win. Fortunately, the strength and durability of the world's model democracy had shined out once again as Democratic forces regrouped in and around the Mid-Atlantic Coast, kicked out the Syndicalists from New York City and pushed westward.

chapter046.jpg

As the war dragged on, it was becoming more and more clear that the United States of America would survive this latest and greatest ordeal.

chapter047.jpg

chapter048.jpg

Four months later the United States defeated John Reed's Syndicalist Faction. The Republic of China sent a congratulatory message to the United States President, Charles Curtis. The message was well received and relations began to warm.

chapter049.jpg

Not long after the Syndicalist Defeat, the American Fascist Faction also surrendered. However, Huey Long, and other Fascists Escaped capture and fled to Cuba. In New England, the decision was made not to get involved in the Civil War, considering it had finally ended.

chapter050.jpg

Weeks later, the United States began its final restoration when New England agreed to rejoin the Union. With New England being the only Industrial Center to not be destroyed in the war, this was indeed a boon towards the reconstruction effort.

KR AAR's usually rock and this one is no exception at all! Subscribed.

Interesting world events! All seemed to go as it usually does, bar the Princely Federation running dry on resources, and, of course, the USA winning the civil war! Wow! I've never seen the USA pull through, let alone as they remained a democracy!

Good to see that the Republic is shaping up well. Research and production are proceeding apace, and what's this about war with the Qing? ;)

Really good stuff. This AAR is excellent.

It's like the world is just falling apart around the scion of stability that is the German empire! ;)

Go France!

...what are you looking at? :p

Anyway, congratulations on the Republic's victory. And Kaiser Smizer indeed, who does he think he is? Ruler of the world? Mind, do put aside some divisions to guard the Guangzhou shoreline and the Indochinese border.

Although I woundn't trust the Princely Federation to survive for long. It seems the Entente always supports Delhi and that means it always seem to win Indian contest. A victorious, democratic USA (I'm amazed they didn't lose D.C. and put that sonofabitch MacArthur in power), on the other hand...

Princely Federation is doomed.

Anyways, nice update. Hopefully the PSA rejoins the Union aswell.

Sectorknight21: Thank ye muchly. I hope I continue to impress!

germanpeon: Yes, this is the first time I've seen Democratic USA pull through as well, I'm as shocked as you are, of course, I'm more than willing to use this to my advantage. Another shocker was the stabilization of Japanese politics. Both these things will make for a really interesting late game!

Myth: A much better world will come out of it though. Or at least I hope!

Irenicus: The Kaiser sees the teeth, but he doesn't see the claws! The Chinese Dragon is unstoppable! Yeah, the Princely Federation never seems to do well. I just wanted to warm up to them just in case they pulled off a miracle. And again, a democratic USA is truly a boon for my own interests!

Eöl: Maybe not the Princely Federation, but Japan is looking nicer and nicer by the minute!

Maj. von Mauser: Like I said in my above posts, I knew they were doomed from the start, but KR has ways of surprising me, so I liked to be prepared.

-------------------------------------------------------

This isn't an actual update, more like a progress report. I'm sorry I haven't sent one up in last two days, I've been hard at work on a few new Events to help set me up for the late game. Because of democratic Japan, my original plans for this AAR have been scrapped, and now I'm looking at creating a new Sino-Japanese-American alliance. Aimed at toppling the German Super-State and to end Germany's monopoly on world trade. There are some new Antagonists popping up as well, some expected, some entirely not expected. Overall I think I will have plenty to do up to 1963.

It is also notable that I plan on making some more events for the Post-1949 world. In KR things always start out really exciting but then it gets really boring past 1941. So I plan on creating a bunch of new events to keep things rolling. Maybe even a breakup of MittleEuropa, and an Uber-Belligerent Russia.

An actual update will be coming soon!

Pu Yi is no Emperor - Part 1

chapter055.jpg

Chaing Kai-Shek, reading aloud the "Revolutionary Decree" in front of the National Congress.

On June 24th 1938 the first Anniversary of the Revolution, the National Revolutionary Congress of the Republic of China made its first Public International Decree - "The Qing Empire is no Empire, and Pu Yi is no Emperor, the free peoples of the Great Republic of China wish to make it known to all of the world that a true government, formed and supported by the People of China has finally risen on its own accord and of its own foundation to challenge any foreign power that wishes to continue to profit from the suffering of the Chinese Nation. The Qing Government is not legitimate, and Pu Yi lives only by the hard work of those he oppresses.

This is a call to any Chinese Man or Woman who loves their nation and thier liberty to rise up against the lame duck Emperor and to fight for the White Sunburst of a Free China. Only together can we wrest off the shackles of German Economic interests and the humiliation of the last 100 years. The British already paid the price for their hubris, and now will the Germans. 2 Months Ago, the Kaiser Himself sent a 'warning' to the National Congress, demanding for a stop to the Revolution. We sent our reply, and our Challenge. 'Stop Us, If you dare!'

Pu Yi will be overthrown, and the great flag of the Republic will fly proudly over the Forbidden City, the Imperial Court will be dragged out, and the National Congress will create a new and far more glorious chapter for the Great People of China. One those in the West have had nightmares about! There is no power greater than that of the people! The continued existance of the United States has proved that much, the failings of Syndicalism will ooze to the surface soon enough, and the corruption and decadance of so-called 'Enlightened Despotism' has long been known.

The Third Revolution Fights for China!"

chapter056.jpg

American Supporters of the Third Revolution

The Republic's Decree to the China and the World had indeed stirred a variety of reactions, the Third Revolution being the only democratic revolution to take place in over 40 years had definitely stirred a whole new kind of movement worldwide. No one knew it yet, but soon enough China would not be the only place where people fought for their ideals. The decree was published in Newspapers worldwide, each with their own take or spin on the implications of the event. In Germany it was condemned as an affront to the Kaiser and the Kaiser Himself promised severe consequences for China's words. Technical and Military support for the Qing Empire was stepped up and Garrison levels around the Empire were increased.

In the United States, the Charles Curtis Government had not yet recognized the Republic, for fear of inciting a reaction from Germany (the USA was still in the midst of reconstruction after their Civil War, war with Germany at this Juncture in time would not be good.) However, many in the liberal press and even those in the more conservative papers likened the Revolutionary Decree to a Chinese version of the Declaration of Independence. Many legislatures agreed that something in support to the Chinese would need to be done, as a result, the "Exclusion Laws"[1] were finally repealed, allowing the Chinese to immigrate to the United States once again. Chinese Americans nationwide began pressuring for Military aid to the revolution, and while the Federal Government made it clear they would not do anything to ruffle the Kaiser's feathers, they instead authorized "Unofficial" support packages to be sent, usually via less than legal means. Many American venture capitalists and technical specialists traveled to the Republic of China to open unofficial trade deals and to provide technical assistance to the growing Chinese heavy industry.

clairechennault.jpg

One of the greatest assets to the Revolution would be an american Aviator who himself openly supported the Chinese Democratic Revolution and personally traveled to China to help in forming a professional and highly proficient Chinese Airforce, that man, accompanied by a number of voluteer Chinese American pilots, was Claire Lee Chennault. The officers and aviators that he trained would later make the RoC Airforce not only one of the best in Asia, but the world.

beginningtheqingwar.jpg

Over the next three months leading to September, the Republic would begin sending a number of supplies and arms to revolutionary cells in and around Qing China, dissent would spread throughout the countryside as the promises of a real, true Chinese Republic reverberated in the hearts and minds of Qing China's peasants.

chapter057.jpg

Despite the growing discontent within Pu Yi's Domain, the Lame Duck Emperor continued to press his own claims as the legitimate Ruler of China, and indeed, those within the German Sphere had no reason to doubt him, he did after all have the backing of the Kaiser Himself. And for many within the Legation Cities, this was enough for them to accept direct Qing Rule. This move did nothing to surprise the Republic, this after all made their job a whole lot easier. With the Legation Cities under the "protection" of Pu Yi, the Republic would no longer have to worry about going to war with the entire Western World. Pu Yi never ceased to amaze the leaders of the Revolution with his abject stupidity.

chapter058.jpg

Their own internal preparations were of a more symbolic than practical nature. The Republic itself knew it would defeat the Qing no matter what, however, Germany, if and when the Kaiser decided to go to war against the Revolution would be a greater issue. A modern and powerful army was needed, not just a numerous one. It was with this in mind that Chinese military planners tossed aside the notion of using Chinese Numerical Superiority and decided that they would defeat the Germans at their own game of quality versus quantity. The Republic's Army would be the most Modern Asia has yet seen. An Army that even Japan would be envious of. A powerful armored force using tanks to break the lines, and motorized infantry to keep the flow of battle in favor of the Chinese. A modern mobile force to convince the world that China was indeed master of her own destiny.

[1] I felt this was important enough to mention, the OTL Chinese Exclusion laws were a set of laws passed in 1882, in an effort to stop Chinese Immigration into the United States, these indeed had in a very real and racist motivation behind them. However with the Onset of the Second Sino-Japanese war, the the US Government repealed them in 1943 to show solidarity with the Chinese Nationalist Government. In this timeline they get repealed sooner as a result of a small American effort to piss off Germany.
