do socialist nations have elections?

Actually most communist countries had elections too since they pretended to be democratic like in "German Democratic Republic". But all you got was a list of people and the positions they were asigned for. So the vote was only about accepting that list or not. Since communist parties in most of these countries had their political power guaranteed in the contries' constitutions there was no real election with a chance of changing the political system. And still they faked results to pretend a high level of approval to their politics.

they were full democratic, but they werent communist, im asking in HoI3 and they could chane it, by voting no, and requesting a new list.

Well most of the communist/socialists states are called "republics" or "democraties" and have elections, even North Corea. Whether or not these elections are "fair" doesn't matter. In game a one-party system would be represented by one single party being highly organised and the other being inexistent or truly unsignificant so the ruling party would be assured to keep the power.

However, there are some forms of governement in the world that _really_ never held elections. For instance, theocraty in Tibet, Absolute monarchy in Saudi Arabia etc. I wonder how those will be implemented in the game.

Seriously, don't turn this into a history forum discussion. It doesn't matter whether a particular Communist state had elections of one form or another (well, they all did) - the point is that the competitition was almost invariably within the same party, which is a level NOT represented in this game. If they're Commies, the game treats them like Commies. That's it.
