Weeell I'm technically an European (bloody Balkaner), but we get our licenses/driving lessons when we are 18, and since he is in colege/faculty something doesn't fit.
Theoretically he could have committed a major driving faux pax, so they took his licence, and sent him back to school, that can happen.

Anyway. Forward Armored fist of Serbia, crush the Švabe.

Funny, but no.
It's not the law to have your drivers license by your 18th you know. ;)
And we don't have a CIA or anything like that because we don't need to, aha! :D

I am sending most of my forces to the French front, a breakthrough there would be much more disastrous than some Balkans expanding.
Vincent is also shipping in as much colonial troops as he can to Europe.

Have you ever recognized that since he goes to university he might not have time to get a driver's license. He certainly doesn't have a need for it. Only thing a European student needs is a bike and a place to get a beer. At least that's my story.

Long live public transport/my dear old bike!

Did Kaisermuffin really rush through your reserves that quickly? Also you said you sort of knew the end (chapter 33 or something). Why do you need to play then. Or did I misinterpret something?

yeah i thought the buffer was like 250 pages- i'd settle for updates every other or every 3 days, but this interminable waiting is intolerable. on the AAR, france obviously needs more troops to stem the advance, as the US can't reinforce a closed Med.
on another note, for exhausting the buffer methinks there is but one solution for KaiserMuffin....

The PIT!!!

Correct, that's what a student is all about!

Yes its really hard to estimate how long your buffer will last, I mean it's been freakin' august or something like that since we place our last Channel Pact session, plan was to have another one around new year, so far for that plan...
But when all goes according to plan (it never does) we should be able to play another 100 pages worth of buffer next week, when my exams are over.

And we decided to carve the AAR up in 30 + 1 chapters, the chapter headers are cool, but you can't make hundreds of them now can you?

Yeah we have enough to spare for that, I'll update tomorrow after I did my exam! ;)

Ah yes..."The Muffin", he must be dealt with, severely, I will leave the decision up to you:

The Pit, The Cannon, or the flesh eating Snail Pit?!
Muwhahaha! :D

-Emperor Zo- euh, I mean Laurence

Duke warned of going off topic already. That should be all that needs be said. Please keep discussion towards the AAR.

It was never Dewey’s plan to crush The Channel Pact in Europe alone. After mobilising the entire US Army, Airforce and Navy the president and leader of the AOF plotted on opening fronts all over the world, over stretching the outnumbered Pact armies, leading to their utter destruction on each continent they controlled. A fourth front was now opened in Central-Africa, where US divisions departed from the AOF Africa Head Command on Sao Tomé and landed in the lightly-defended Port Hancourt.

Several German fighters were rebased to England to help support the British defenders. Although completely outnumbered, British defenders managed to hold the line South of London, where US forces quickly found out the full extent of superior Pact air technology: bombing runs were performed day and night by veteran pilots with almost superhuman precision, hampering all supply lines and communications between the divisions fighting in England.

In the meanwhile, Swedish partisans received reinforcements from newly risen Finnish, which, together with Northern-Russian communists, vowed to create a Northern Free Front against the Channel pact. With no real army to oppose them, it would only be a matter of time before the partisans linked up and began posing a serious threat to the war going on in Southern-Europe

Is this the end of the channel pact? Or will they build a time machine device?

Come on boys, awake!

Or are you waiting for a last minute surprise?

shouldnt he strat redeploy them? it would be quicker. and darn. short updates...

Updates are as long as we can make them, considering the buffer.

Also note that the war hasn't been going on for that long, damn Americans advance fast!
Troops are on there way, both German and Colonial, yet the transports need to ferry them all the way from Australia, which takes a while.

After the fall of Cardiff, constant Pact bombing managed to halt US advance in England. The threat of air raids forced US forces to dig in and restore their communications, slowing down the invasion force.

October

The following events took place October 1st, 1947 Hebrides Isles, United Kingdom

It was a dark, looming day in the North of Schotland on the 1st of October, 1947. Reports had streamed in from all fronts reporting nothing but mayor defeats for the nations of the Channel Pact. Northern-Russian communists had linked up with the Swedish and Finnish anarchists to form a northern Free Front against the Channel Pact, and were now actively pushing towards the vital occupied city of St. Petersburg. Around St. Petersburg, the only line of defence remaining against the hordes of partisans were a couple of understrength mechanized divisions led by field marshall Heinz Guderian, while Rommel had been ordered to stall the African front with only a skeleton army. Following the sudden independence of the Balkan League, the entire Pact Army command was thrown into disarray, and the threat of total collapse was coming closer every single day.

The Hebrides isles, in the far North of the United Kingdom, were spared from most of the destructions of the war raging on down South. It was here, in the Northernmost territories of the Empire that De Nil had ordered the construction of a secret network of broadcasting systems, emergency communications and other top-secret facilities from where the ruined remnants of the British Empire were controlled. This bunker, originally intended for coordinating the naval war, had now been repurposed by special order from Van Geyte and De Nil themselves, to combat another growing threat on the British Isles: that of American Propaganda. As soon as US forces had taken their first broadcasting station near Portsmouth, the invasion force had facilitated the organisation of a so-called Liberty Radio, claiming to be the last voice of liberty in an opressed Europe, but in reality little more than a vile propaganda tool of the AOF and it’s puppet master, the USA. Even as they spoke, the Colombian Broadcasting Network and Liberty Radio were hard at work at inciting dissent in the suffering populations of Germany and the United Kingdom, and something had to be done about the situation.

The bunker was cramp, dusty and filled to the brim with broadcasting equipment. In it, six people were actively flicking switches and operating control panels in the misty darkness, all set up around a single lightbulb to illuminate the room, shining down on a rather mystifying and scarred man. Wayne McCool, or simply Commander Cool was a veteran from the Indochina Front where he had lost one of his legs. Incapable of continuing the war with his weapons, Commander Cool had chosen to continue to support his nation in these dark times. And thus, McCool had become the voice of Channel Radio, the last sparkle of hope in a Europe on the verge of collapse.
“On air in five. You ready?”
Cool nodded

The broadcast specialist in front of cool counted down in silence, and pointed towards the radio commentator the moment the red light above his desk switched on.
“Go get em” he whispered, voiceless.

Commander Cool sighed, and grabbed hold of the microphone.

“Peoples of Europe, this is Channel Radio. If you can hear this: Do not despair! The Channel Pact lives, and continues the fight! As we speak, brave German, British, Chinese, Russian, Korean, Iraqi, Indonesian and Indian soldiers plunge themselves into the battle against our godless foes, determined to protect you from the crusing jackboot of US imperialism. If you can hear this, peoples of Europe, you are still free!”

“It is grave news that I have to inform you of, fellow citizens of Europe. Despite the onsetting winter, our ungodly enemies continue their advance. In Ukraine, reports are streaming in of Ukrainian divisions expanding the countries’ territories in all directions. Van Geyte has commented that The Ukraine, the largest and strongest of the US puppets in Southern-Europe will continue to pose a serious threat to our forces in the East, as the understrength german forces attempt to keep the Berlin-St. Petersburg-Novosibirsk corridor open from Balkan league forces and separatists. Reports have come in that our brave forces in St. Petersburg, under leadership of the skilled Field Marshall Guderian, have managed to hold the city from Free North partisans for now. If St. Petersburg were to fall, this would break the vital supply line running in from Asia, and disrupt all communications with our Asian allies. Luckily, Kolchak and Chiang-Kai Shek have already promised to send reinforcements to European Russia, to help in the fight against this pathetic Greed Revolution and the lawless rabbles in the North. All our prayers are with you, Field Marshall Guderian.”

oplisb1.jpg
“It has come to our attention that US forces have managed yet another succesfull landing on European coasts, seizing control of the European historical capitol of Lisboa. Reports are preliminary, but as we speak heavy fighting is going on in Agora as US forces attempt to pierce their way through the defence line in the South. Reporters on location speak of at least 200.000 soldiers, backed up with heavy artillery and several US carriers. Outnumbered one to ten in Iberia, it is very likely that US forces will seize control of Gibraltar, and shut down one side of the Meditereannean. Is there truly no end to their numbers?”

Cool, everyone's favourite backstabbing schemer, has returned! :p. Channel Pact Radio will make several appearances from this point on, as will other forms of narration because we grew bored of the talking god narrator style we've been using for 70% of this AAR. You can expect our usual style, mixed in with soldiers' letters from the front and radio reports from different sides in the future.

Oh and for those wondering: In Belgium you are allowed to drive a car from the age of 17 and allowed to gain a permit at the age of 18, there are two ways of obtaining a driver's license, first you need to pass a theoretical exam (Me and Laurence were actually among the first who entered the drive@school project, so now you can do the theory in the last year of highschool). Passing theory gets you a temporary license and allows you to drive a car: Then you can choose between an (expensive) 20-hr driver's school course after which you are free to drive a car alone (except after 22hr in the weekends), this is commonly known as greencard course, because the temporary permit you get then is coloured green. Both me and Laurence, in lack of €1500 to pay for lessons, took a whitecard course in which when you drive you allways need to be accompanied by a person who has had his license for 6 years without infractions. The tradeoff being that you're not obliged to follow any lessons, the basic idea is that whitecard is a continuation of the traditional father-teaches-son-to-drive gig that has been going on here ever since we got automobiles. When you feel ready and are 18 of age, you can contact the exam centre and do an absolutely nerve-wrecking driver's exam :D. I've been driving for allmost 7 months now but as Robau said, college took so much time from me that I wasn't able to attend the exam, now I'm going to do the exam 4th March. And when we have our permits, I'm challenging Laurence to a race to Moscow :p

What a mess, and no sign that this is to change for better!

Lucky for me I have my Driver's License. Things in the Netherlands are much stricter. You have to get a theoretical exam first before you may do your practical. With the practical you drive for about 30-40 minutes with the examinator and sometimes your instructor (but that is your own choice) and if you fail you are in trouble because the exam alone is like 150-200 euros not to speak of the lessons etc.

I have passed the exam though, first time...no problem. Now I am driving around still planning to do something like that to Moscow, would be nice :D:D:D
The thing is, it is possible for me to drive in the U.S.A. but if they come to our country they aren't always allowed for there is a difference in level :p when I heard that it was like ROFLMAO

but back to the Channel Pact AAR...I'd say kill the Americans in England...nice idea of the Channel Pact Radio though...

Focus on the Balkans next, and after that Russia. Africa later on and plz get those Chinese back in....!!! Are there also American actions in the pacific?

Tim

The Pacific is now defended by skeleton fleets, Japan is mostly safe but the Asian coasts are in grave danger (only +-80div to defend a coast from india to Korea :(). The Americans haven't tried anything yet, but that may change soon...
