Why not modify Oceania, Tis for Thee? :D

Aah, a fellow nineteen eighty-four fan ;). Sure, if you could find me the lyrics somewhere (It's been a while since I read Orwell's book). That book really made me feel depressed, such a dark tale. I mean, I've read 'The Road', but compared to 1984 that book is a tale from the lands of Oz

Enjoy. Modify accordingly. Here's the Youtube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YtepuyvsGbg

Strong and peaceful, wise and brave,
Fighting the fight for the whole world to save,
We the people will ceaselessly strive
To keep our great revolution alive!
Unfurl the banners! Look at the screen!
Never before has such glory been seen!

Oceania! Oceania! Oceania, 'tis for thee!
Every deed, every thought, 'tis for thee!
Every deed, every thought, 'tis for thee!
Every deed, every thought, 'tis for thee!

I just looked Ricky Hatton up, and I must say that I am completely confused by that statement. O.O

The following events took place December 29th, Singapore, British Empire

FULL STOP

The remaining men had now read the letter over his shoulder, and were confused and scared. Pointless and annoying questions came from all directions
“Is the Field Marshall really dead?”
“What will happen now?”
“Is this the end of the Russian offensive?”
Vincent waved their questions away. “Silence. Get back to your work”. He tore the letter in half and threw it in the bin. He walked back outside.
Marten Bergmann. The dead do not write letters.

He remembered the first time he had heard the name, in one of the many tales Van Geyte had brought back from the trenches of the Great War. Marten Bergmann was a 19-year old soldier under his command at Verdun, and grew close with the Field Marshall during the years of that war. In 1918 however, months before the end of the war, he was killed in a French bombardment, leaving nothing but a letter to his mother behind. He never had the chance to finish it, “The dead do not write letters”

He unfolded the letter again and reread it

To Grand Admiral De Nil of the Royal Navy, leader of the Singapore Defence Corps

Grand Admiral,

I report great successes from the Eastern front. Frost and blizzards have slowed the advance, but our victories continue. We have the Red army on the run.

Yours truly,
Marten Bergmann

No codes. While a great soldier and general, creativity was not one of Laurence his strongest traits. The Grand Admiral opened a box of matches, and lit a fire under the letter. Just as he thought, the backside of the letter had been written on with vinegar. He read the message that now appeared in a secret, browny hue. It was obviosuly written while in great haste

Vincent,

I am alive. I narrowly survived the assassination, and switched identities with my killer. How and when, are things to discuss later. I wrote this letter to inform you that your family and Mosley could be in grave danger. The man that attempted to kill me was an SS-officer disguised as a Russian soldier. I have reason to believe that that rat Hitler has been secretly reuniting his former party members in an attempt to coup Germany. If I am correct, the news of my death will have already arrived there, and Hitler will have taken control of the military and my office near the Reichstag evacuated.

He is not operating alone. It is likely that we are facing a carefully planned attack on the Channel Pact. He will probably use his new position of power to fund anti-Pact loyalists in England, and it is likely that they have planned to assasinate Mosley aswell. I do not however know where and how they intend to do this. Make sure Martha and your son are moved to a safe location outside of London, and warn our loyal generals in the Channel Pact Surpreme HQ: The revolutionaries are sure to attempt to attack and destroy the Prussian Military Academy and eliminate them. Order them to seal off the building and fight untill the last man.

I have no information about who is involved in this conspiracy, nor do I know how strong they are, and what their future plans are. I have assembled a few good men I can trust, and we are headed towards Berlin disguised as civilians. I hope to confront Hitler in the Reichstag before it is too late. I have many things left to say, but we need to get going.

Everything we have worked for these many years is in danger.
Laurence

De Nil spat on the ground and burned the letter. Bastards. Someone had already cut direct communication from here to Mosley two days ago, under the cover that the telegraph line to London had been damaged. He could not possibly warn him in time. He had to warn Field Marshall Montgomery at the Academy, and order the Ironsides to escort his family to safety. He ran off to the telegraph room.

So is Van Geyte going to kill Hitler?

The bets are higher than ever!

I call knifefight on top of the Reichstag!

I call knifefight on top of the Reichstag!

Actually, I really like that idea :). Unfrotunately, in real life (and in this story aswell) Hitler is a no-good sneaky bastard who likes to stab friend and foe alike in the back. This opposed to Van Geyte, who is some sort of badass comic book general :p

Next update in one hour btw

A flag will be hoisted on top off the Reichstag. The question is: which one?

Great update. Where's the second one, btw. When I came back from drinking in the park I exepected two updates.

They are posted separately, but in the same day. During the week I'm in college, generally from 7 to 6, so expect updates around 7pm and another around 8

Besides, we still have a lot of AAR to cover, so I need to write aswell as post :)

Earlier...

The followings events took place November 22nd, 1942, Unknown, England

The small and damp conference room was crowded. The walls were made of rough brick, ridden with mold, and the entire scene was only lit by two small lightbulbs, giving Halifax a serious headache attempting to look at all the faces. This was probably one of the worst places imaginable to have such a crucial meeting. But the most important thing was that it would be safe. This damp cellar was far out of the sight of Mosley, De Nil and Van Geyte. It was perfect.

The room was filled with a long table, around it seated at least forty important leaders, surrounded by clerks and other unimportant backgrounds figures. Flanking the table were two large red and white banners, bearing the symbol of the House of Lancaster

At the right side of the table sat the six mayor leaders of the conspiracy. At the British side: The exiled Prime minister of the United Kingdom, Winston Churchill. Domvile, Chief of the Navy. And Lord Halifax, the Minister of Foreign affairs. At the German side: Hitler, the Fuhrer of the Third Reich, flanked by two members of his former Nazi party: Himmler, leader of the SS and Bormann, leader of the Gestapo. The other side was filled to the brim with smaller regional leaders. Fascists, communists, nationalists: Anything would do to overthrow the Pact. The idea was that multiple separatist uprisings would divide the attention of the Pact-loyal generals and lead to their demise.

Among these men sat Leon Degrelle, the fascist leader of Belgium. A weak and spineless fool, only attenting this meeting to suck up to Hitler and Germany. Nontheless, he was a usefull pawn. Together with the man next to him, Jelles Troelstra, a communist leader of the Netherlands, they would be able to unleash a massive revolution in the Lower Countries, through which most of the Channel Pact’s supply lines ran. Other members were part of the Polish Resistance, the Balkan Liberation Movement, the Fronte Nazionale Italia, the Mouvement pour la liberté de France and a plethora of other shady separatists. Allmost half of the seats were filled by several European liberals. Blech, damn liberals.
Lord Halifax’s pondering was cut to an end by Churchill

“Silence.” The room grew silent. The exiled Prime Minister spoke softly and slowly, as if he had given deep thought to each word.
“We have now reached a critical phase of the revolution. We hope to begin our work next month, and have consolidated our power fully by the end of January. Herr Hitler, you may go first”

Hitler put down his glass. He felt confident. He had spent the last year rebuilding the SS and the Nazi party, and was now finally ready to retake power.
“I have spoken to my spies at the front. They informed me that the war in the East is going well. Armeegruppe Mittel, and with it, Field Marshall Von Geyte is expected to reach Novosibirsk in two weeks. One of our finest officers is already there. He will await Von Geyte’s arrival” Hitler paused to take another sip of water
“And assassinate him.” Several men in the room were amused at the thought of seeing Van geyte dead.
“He will be disguised as a Russian officer. It will look like a Soviet assassination. Van Geyte is an old man. He believes this war has already been won. He’ll never see it coming.”
“After his death, I will take his position as leader of the military, putting me once again in de facto rule of Germany. After the takeover is complete, I will immediately begin to send weapons and funds to Lancastrian armies in England. That leaves us only Mosley and De Nil to worry about”
Domvile continued Hitler’s monologue
“De Nil is the least urgent of the three. He has no real power besides the trust most admirals of the navy put in him, and his close friendship with mosley.”
Churchill responded “Are you sure you aren’t underestimating him Domvile?”
“No. He is a weak fool, who turns down unnessecary killing. He wouldn’t even dare to accept a pistol to shoot his greatest enemy. The last time he sailed on a ship was a long time ago. It is time that he is put aside to make way for a new generation.”
“After Van Geyte is dead, I will travel to Singapore myself to assassinate De Nil. I have already bribed a corrupt technician in London to cut the telegraph line between England and Singapore. He will be unable to warn Mosley, and vice versa”
“And Mosley?” Hitler responded
“Let’s just say we have something... special planned for him” The British side of the table laughed.

Churchill continued
“On New Years Eve, after Mosley, De Nil and Van Geyte are all dead, we will begin the revolution. All regional leaders will begin separatist uprisings to confuse the military, and we will use the confusion to occupy London and eliminate all Pact Loyalists still remaining in England.”
“And the Prussian Academy in Berlin? It serves as the main Headquarters for the Channel Pact.”
“We have assembled a task force consisting of Hitler’s most elite Waffen-SS. Their orders are to attack the Military Academy, kill everyone inside and burn it to the ground.”
“We have also been informed that some of our most famous generals are currently residing in the Academy. Being General Montgomery, and even the famous Desert Fox, Rommel. Unfortunately our sources inform us that Rommel and Montgomery are indeed Pact Loyalists and will have to be eliminated like the rest. It is unfortunate, but nessecary.”

“We will have to be fast, and relentless. We will seize power, and purge our own ranks of any remaining Pactists, and place Lancastrians in all positions of political influence. We will wash out the Channel Pact like one would wash out a dirty cloth.”

“We hope to have attained absolute power by mid-January” Hitler continued “After which we will sign an immediate ceasefire with the Allied states. They have agreed to sign peace and cede us formidable amounts of land. Germany will have it’s Lebensraum, and my goals will be fulfilled. What you do further is your problem.”

“And us?” One of the regional leader remarked “What do we get out of it?”
“Fight for us” Churchill said “And you will be granted independence. The Pact occupation of your countries will come to and end, and the British and German militaries will return home.”

“And what about the people? Do you believe they will accept this sudden change?”
“The people are sheep. They will do as we tell them to do.”
“Very well then”
“In England, we will reinstate the power of King Edward. The Pactists have already begun taking measures to abolish the upper class, even going as far as making attempts to disband the House of Lords. This will be undone. Halifax and Domvile will be reinstated as Lords, and I will assume the position of Prime Minister”
“That is all. Move swift, and strike relentlessly. For king and country”
The men in the room nodded and spoke in unity
“For king and country.”

There you go. By the way, we'll be updating the readers group on Wednesday.

I guess this is where all those revolts we saw in the trailer come in ...

Having Churchill and Hitler as pals of this conspiracy makes me feel... uneasy.

But don't stop now! :D
