East vs West - softcoder cartographer
Do you mean something like this?

Legolas could you please put Mostar instead of Bijeljina in Bosnia, because Mostar is biger city than Bijeljina? Imean if its possible?
I'll do that some time soon. I took the list from Wikipedia, which states that Bijeljina's municipality is larger than Mostar's, so I assumed the city would be larger as well. Guess that was a mistake then

Hax, here is something i was trying to do. I've done some national provinces in Bosnia, mainly in Krajina. I was looking at the demographical statistics of the towns in 1991 population census.
The dark red squares is Bosnian Serb national provinces.
The dark green squares are Bosnian Muslim or Bosniak national provinces.
The dark blue squares are Bosnian Croat national provinces.
The Purple squares is Zapadna Bosna or Abdic national provinces. (I was thinking to add Varoska Rijeka also, but you decide)
Where you see Serb national provinces there should be Rep Srpska rebellion in april 1992, i mean on the beginning of the war.
So here is the map:
If you like this, then i will continue. I mean this is easy for later when you want to do the national province.
Mesina i haven't done all the map yet, but for this part of Bosnia that i've done it should be like this because i'm following the demographical statistics of each municipality in 1991. Croats are more in Hercegovina which i've started with Livno and Duvno, than in middle of Bosnia and in Posavina or northern Bosnia like Bosanski Brod, Orasje, Odzak, etc.
By the way i was born in Slavonski Brod , so we come from the same town...

Let's wait for next version which will be more playable
While H-B and RS should have where there is a majority of croats/serbs and where historically there was before a majority but not during wartime(Srebrenica, Zepa, Gorazde, Prijedor, Livno etc.) .
So YES please continue so we can know what ethnic group were in that province.
I'm running this mod on Arsenal of Democracy (newest HoI 2 version) and it seems compatible. I'm not sure if it's still intended not to have any troops or research though cause I can't research and there's no troops on the map (though I can produce them).
I know it's alpha but I do have some problems with how things are set up.
I love the new political system and it fits the scenario very well. (reactionary, absolutist, conservative and so on instead of stuff like national socialist *shudders*)
But perhaps we could change one or two things?
We already have capitalism vs socialism (Free market vs central planning - even though titoism was some form of market socialism mix )
Perhaps instead of political right and left you could have "civil libertarianism vs conservatism".
Most countries in the Yugoslav bloc were quite conservative in the sense of values and religion, especially after the breakup. But I assume slovenia would have been most towards the civil libertarian direction while Republika Srpska, Croatia and Kosova would have been most conservative (religious etc).
(Some would argue this should include Bosnia to, but by Yugoslav standards, especially in the cities I think Bosnia was more similiar to Slovenia - especially due to the racial mix).
Also I think the nation-relations need to be changed. Macedonia should definetly have better relations with Serbia. I don't think any nation should really have below -100 with each other, after all we once lived together so before war I don't think it's reasonable to YET hate each other that much.
After war is declared it shoult plumit to -100 to -200 though.
There's one big problem with how the middle-lines get so thick when you zoom in, and that's quite annoying. Perhaps using classical HoI2 textures for land would be better? I love the pictures though, of mountains and so on when you click on the land.
Perhaps we could compose a list of Yugoslav music or even specific Yugo-republic music. Most people like balkan music so I think this would be a good idea in general.
I like the music so far alot and the way "hej sloveni" turns into bullet shots is brilliant.
So tu sum it up:
Change left-right wing slider to something like civil libertarian-conservative or progressive-absolutist.
Change national relations, manually. Croatia shouldn't have +2 with Serbia just cause it's "close" ideologicly.
Fix the thick black lines.
For the future I also belive that if possible alliances should be made impossible from the diplomatic screen. Instead they should only be possible to form through scripted event. (So that people don't go on influencing Serbia as Albania or something and conquer the whole of Yugoslavia, I mean sure - freedom for all to do what they want in the game - but I think this is just stupid for this mod. Also the AI could do unrealistic things like this with the massive IC the countries get.
- Actually when I come to think about it; why not lower the IC all together? Or at least rename all units to represent regiments or battalions and not corpses.
Otherwise I like it. Also if you want add that it is compatible with AoD - at least if no techs and units isn't a bug.

I agree that the Zapadna Bosna should exist. I'm not sure who it should be allied to though - if with anyone. Perhaps, just perhaps - to make things a bit more interesting - it could be like communist China in real HoI2.
Through deception and scripted events and taking advantage of the chaso between the "muslim" Bosnia and the "serb" Republiska Srpska" it could form a second Bosnian faction. - If acting rapidly and taking advantage of the huge dissent that should be everywhere in the new republics due to war and still mixed racial groups that either oppose fighting each other or hate each other - that more unified force of Zapadna Bosna could succeed?
To my knowledge this side collaborated with both Croatia and Serbia and even with SDA, the successor of the group (Demokratska Narodna Stranka) says on its homepage it opposed "muslim leaders" who "lead Bosnia into war" or something and wanted compromise with Croatians and Serbs.
But at the same time I think it would be to complicated. Bosnia is already divided in 2 if not 3 parts. I don't think the HoI2 engine and what this game has to offer is well developed enough to host such a complicated conflict as a fourth faction, which owed its existance to so many factors that can't be simulated in the game. Hearts of Iron 3 could PERHAPS do it a little better.
If anything there is also doubt about what the hell it was doing and it was also lead by a previously corrupt businessman. Who knows its goals? Perhaps it could be a neutral faction ready to join the highest bidder? Who ever raises relations with it high enough? Maybe.
Sorry for tripple post but it's kinda divided.
I also suggest some part of Italy showing as it had interest in areas of Slovenia and Croatia, perhaps Italy could take the chance it will have once in a life time?
(Some very rare event).
There should also be a Germany/Austria representing Nato.
And a Russia higher up (seperated indeed by black area if possible) or compeltely off map. Russia would either only be able to send in paratroopers to help Serbia or simply give techs to the country.
But this is LATE in the mod when stuff is nearly finished :P
