    For example for MEIOU, it's ...EU3...\mods\MEIOU.mod

    1) Open the AD .mod file with a text editor and paste the contents.

    Should look something like this:

    Code:
    name = "NAME"

    replace = "common"
    replace = "history"
    extend = "gfx"     ...etc....
    Except it may differ, and I imagine I know which line Strannik is after

    Missing textures? Be sure extend = "map" is in the .mod file.

    BTW Strannik, I'm converting your mod to the Mac. I'll let you know when I'm successful.

    okay its
    name = "Ad Infinitum - An AI Behavior Mod - Part of Sacra Romanum Imperium"
    #extend = "common"
    #extend = "decisions"
    extend = "events"
    #extend = "history"
    extend = "localisation"
    extend = "map"
    #extend = "missions"
    #extend = "interface"
    #extend = "gfx"
    #extend = "sound"

    but it doesnt just happen with this mod, its with all mods i try to put 2.11 into, except the ones i already have pasted 2.11 into in the past.

    Strannik,

    When you change the density (repetition) of terrain features on the map, is editing the image files pretty much the main approach, or can the .fx files provide a certain level of control?

    Haven't approached it yet, but for one of the mods we're working on, it's a large map but the overall scale of the country represents a smaller one, and just trying to think things out for my own curiosity (although the mod leader may already have done so, unsure). Since your HDM seems rather pre-dominant, I'm pretty sure that's the graphic mod that'll be used by players. Figure I better at least understand it's overall function.

    Conversion of HandDrawn Map to Mac OS X

    Strannik,

    Is this what the colormap.dds should look like? (dds viewers are hard to come by on the Mac.)

    UPDATE: Fixed. RGB <-> BGR, hehe.

    UPDATE #2: Progress.

    UPDATE #3: No color. Why does it always have to be no color? Terrain is working, though forests seem much too dark.

    Terrain on the left, noticeably colorless political on the right.

    ADP101, yep it is what I suspected. You need to uncomment the line:

    #extend = "gfx"

    Just remove the '#' so that it becomes:

    extend = "gfx"

    Then copy the files of either HDM of TOT of them into the AD mod folder and it should work.

    Thsmar, the density of the textures is not controled in the .fx files. To change the density you have to change the .dds files directly. However the texture may not be seamless anymore if you make it less dense. If what you want is to make it denser then you have to use multiples of 2 (double, quadruple and so on). And by the way, thanks for your help with the .mod file!

    Ancestral, not exactly, it seems as if you are seing the negative. Here is a BMP of how it looks:

    Ok The Swert, here it goes! That was quite a bit of reverse engineering but since I couldn't check it there may be syntax errors. Let's hope not.

    Hand Drawn Map for Mac OS X

    Hand Drawn Map 2.21 for Mac OS X
    I have successfully converted the mod Hand Drawn Map modification to Mac OS X!

    I think it's done.

    It was actually fairly easy considering much of it is based on TOT. Which made me joyous.

    Maybe Strannik you want to just put this in the first post?

    Download 2.21 for Mac
    At this post here

    As usual, if you encounter any bugs, mistakes, errors, bananas, please let me know!

    Next to do: MMP. Other than that, I'm open to suggestions.

    That is wonderful Ancestral! No need to adapt them to MM the only things that change are the colormaps. I will post them all places they need to be. One thing I recommend though. Make threads in the 'User Modification' and MM forums announcing your achievement (both TOT and HDM). I think most Mac users gave up hope and don't follow the map mod threads. Also you deserve the expressions of gratitude you will surely get.

    You can put links to both of the sets of files in the 'User modification' thread, if you want, but in the MM please refrain to do so and instead refer people to the 'Official map support' thread and the 'MM HDM' thread. Although if you don't mind if people have trouble I will refer them to you .

    The Swert, I'm glad it does. If you have any trouble let me know. I can see that the water doesn't work properly so I will see if I can do something about it later

    Hi, this mod looks great. I'm just about to download, but: will this overwrite the map in my current campaign or do I have to start a new one to see the new map?
    Thanks

  15. #195
    Ketchup, it will be compatible, however you need to copy your savegame into the mod folder, there isn't a folder for savegames yet but if you load my mod and let the game make an autosave it will create it. Then manually copy your savegame there and you are good to go.

    Go to the mod folder:

    EUIII/mod/HandDrawn Map/save games

    If a folder called save games does not exist, create it.

    THen, copy the files in:

    EUIII/save games

    to the folder:

    EUIII/mod/HandDrawn Map/save games

    Ok, cool. Will this have any strange effect on the game since i didn't start it with the mod? I can't imagine it would since it is just a map modification, but I guess I'll find out. Thanks much!

    It's not supposed to have a strange effect, that's all I know...
