Thanks to Midge for this one!

    ====================

Welcome to Democracy's Last Stand After-Action Report. Here you will find one of the most difficult games ever played by Britain and American human players. With DAIM (an AI mod) and a random chaotic chance of occurrences beyond anyone's foretelling, Germany has become a superpower of which they have achieved unsurpassed power. From the defeat and evacuation of Britain to the losses of India, to D-day and the Invasion of German occupied France, I will attempt to captivate my audience with news reports, written as if you were hearing them over the radio.

This is my first attempt at an AAR. I hope you guys enjoy it.

I also use my own custom music, which I uploaded on request. The link is here:

    CBS World News - February 24th, 1941

    February 24th, 1941

    CBS World News

"The world today. The Columbia Broadcasting System now presents a summary of the all the important world news today. Reports from CBS correspondents by trans-Atlantic and trans-Pacific short wave radio, and the latest developments as received by the Columbia's news room here in New York. Tonight John Daly will call in Bob Trout from London and Albert Werner from our own national capital, Washington. And now first, John Daly."

"The British situation in Europe topped the stories tonight. Reports from London indicate that German armies have landed and seized the port of Plymouth in an invasion that took place yesterday morning. Bob Trout from London reports on the situation as it develops:"

"British High Command has been in a bit of a fluster lately, and there is sense of urgency to repel the invaders. German troops, supported by several tank divisions, made a thrust on Portsmouth earlier today. There have been localized successes, but the mood here is grim. Units from Scotland have been moving towards the landing area, and London has been reinforced. Citizens have sensed the urgency and are fleeing north. Others have been attempted to secure safe passage to Canada and the United States"

"That was Bob Trout, reporting from London on the latest events reguaring the war in Britain. And now we hear from Albert Werner from Washington on how our own government is responding to recent events."

"Thank you for having me Mr. Daly. Tomorrow the President is to meet with his staff to assess the situation that perils Britain. They are to decide what course of action to take in regards to the threats that face them. There are men on both sides of the fence; some are wanting to keep out of the war, while others are saying we should offer full support. What is to come of this meeting will directly influence our foreign policy. The people of both Britain and America await its decision."

    CBS World News - March 29, 1941

    March 29, 1941

    CBS World News

"The world today. The Columbia Broadcasting System now presents a summary of the all the important world news today. Reports from CBS correspondents by trans-Atlantic and trans-Pacific short wave radio, and the latest developments as received by the Columbia's news room here in New York. Tonight John Daly will call in Bob Trout from Scapa Flow in Northern Britain. But first, a word from John Daly"

"Tonight, the developing situations in Britain continue to top the headlines around the world. There is fear not only in Britain, but here at home. The situation is covered by Bob Trout, who has followed the military to the military port of Scapa Flow"

"I am here with the remains of the British army that is holding a defensive line around the military port of Scapa Flow. Thousands of citizens have fled north hoping to gain passage out of the lands that are to be occupied by Germany. British High Command, led by Commander Cool, is at a loss of words to describe what has happened. In one month the British army disintegrated, the Royal Airforce beaten, and the Royal Navy at the mercy of the German Airforce. London has fallen to the invaders, and they have pushed the retreating units to the north tip of the Island. Panic has struck many citizens as they swarm the last of the civilian ships. In the distance, the dull thud of artillery can be heard closing in, punctuated only by the occasional explosion of a supply dump. Once these troops board the ships, there is no telling where they will be going. Ireland, India, or possibly to North Africa. As for now, the military unit I have been following from London is about to get ready to leave, so I will report back when we reach our destination."

"That was Bob Trout reporting from Scapa Flow, the scene of the latest fighting in Europe and Britain. On further news, the Japanese have been attempting to secure oil trades from our country, and our governments stance on this has not changed. Albert Werner in Washington will report after this quick announcement."

Reports from CBS correspondents by trans-Atlantic and trans-Pacific short wave radio, and the latest developments as received by the Columbia's news room here in New York. Tonight John Daly will call in Commander Cool from Scapa Flow in Northern Britain."

"So, Commander Cool, how is the situation developing for the British Army in north Britain?"

"The militia units of the British army are holding back the German troops as long as they can. There are not enough available transports to evacuate everyone, so their stand will result in their death or capture. Our ship, after the military units boarded throughout the night, is finally ready to set sail. It is one of the last ships to leave port, and I have taken my command staff and government personnel with me onboard. We are headed to Alexandria, where the Royal Navy will make its new homeport. Likewise, Cairo will be the center of command for military operations, but the government will be relocated to Karachi, India, where it is out of reach of the enemy. This is a black day for Britain, and I vow that we will come back to free the mainland from enemy occupation – with or without American support. Those who died so that more of our soldiers can continue the fight will be recognized in a day of national mourning through the Empire.”

“That was Commander Cool, in charge of the British High Command as they evacuate the British mainland.”

AI never does anything like that against a Human without getting pushed out quickly. As such, I think it fair to assume that Germany is human.

@Teep: Commander Cool is my ally, he goes under the screen name simply 'Cool'.

    @White Daimon: Thanks

@Dinglehoff and Velendesril: Prepare to be suprised. Germany is AI controlled. And the player playing the United Kingdom is no green player, we've played together for quite sometime. the DAIM AI is quite...intensive. But, I will not give any spoilers

Reports from CBS correspondents by trans-Atlantic and trans-Pacific short wave radio, and the latest developments as received by the Columbia's news room here in New York. Tonight, John Daly will report on the developing situation inside Russia, aswell as the military news from Africa and Greece”

“Good evening America. Today, only a day after the British mainland was officially occupied, the war in Europe has expanded eastwards. German troops crossed the Russian border early this morning, and reports from our sources in Moscow suggest there was little preparation, or expectation, towards an attack. To further compound matters, Finland has joined the war against Russia on the side of Germany. How Moscow responds to this dire change in circumstances will be seen to in the next couple of days."

“The situation in Africa continues to be dire for the British and Commonwealth troops stationed in Alexandria. Italy, supported by some German units, have strongly contested El Alamein, and the city has changed hands several times over the past few hours. In the air, the German’s have outnumbered the British RAF, and have begun striking British poitions at Alexandria. The belegured men await the exiled troops from the British mainland with anticipation, as the pressure mounts up against them, only time will tell how this situation develops…”

"In the Balkans, Bulgarian troops crossed the Greek border, pushing into the Macedonia regions. Although the Greek defenders are brave, without support from Britain their resistance will be for a seemingly hopeless cause. Our government continues to refuse entry into either party of the conflict in Europe."

The German AI accomplished this against a human player? Amazing! Let's hope Cool can hold out in Africa though.

Malta still holds out, but it is not practical to station aircraft or naval forces there. Only reason Britain occupies it is so that the Italians don't.

Also, I edited the last news update. Finland had joined Germany in their attack on Russia. Greece is also at war with the Axis and is on the side of the Allies.

    CBS World News

"The world today. The Columbia Broadcasting System now presents a summary of the all the important world news today. Reports from CBS correspondents by trans-Atlantic and trans-Pacific short wave radio, and the latest developments as received by the Columbia's news room here in New York. Tonight, John Daly will report on the military news involving Russia and the 'Eastern Front', as well as the military news from other areas around the world”

"Good afternoon listeners, this is John Daly reporting from New York. Today's primary topics will cover the ongoing war between Russia and Germany, and the situations in Africa and Greece."

“The German invasion of Russia seems to have soured, in regards to that little land has been yielded to the German invaders. In the center, Russian troops vigorously hold their ground, while up north the troops have fallen back into Estonia. The southern front has also conceded some ground, where German troops have captured the Black Sea port of Odessa, and are pushing towards Kiev and the Crimea. This situation in the far north has favored the Red Army. Finland, and ally to Germany, is falling quickly to Soviet advances and is on the brink of military collapse.

The situation in Africa appears to have worsened. The North African city of El Alamein has been conceded to the Italian troops as the defeated British withdraw to the fortifications at Alexandria. Here, the Royal Navy has been temporarily stationed before it withdraws to the Indian Ocean. The Royal Navy has come under heavy bombardment from Italian and German air forces and has lost a few light vessels.”

“Later tonight, there will be an interview from our Balkan correspondent. For those who missed our broadcast a week ago, Greece has fallen, with the Italians occupying the west coast and Bulgarians the east. Italy seized Crete, preventing its use by British units.”

I am intrigued by the premise. It's cool to see such a clear setback on a player.

Reports from CBS correspondents by trans-Atlantic and trans-Pacific short wave radio, and the latest developments as received by the Columbia's news room here in New York. Tonight John Daly will report on the growing concern on the war between Germany and Russia."

"Good evening America and thank you for tuning in this chilly evening. Tonight I will report on the dire situation facing Russia as regards to the German Invasion."

"The good fortunes of the Red Army just two months ago seem to have been forgotten. German panzers have sliced apart the eastern front along its entirety. On the north, German units have occupied the Baltic regions and are advancing on an axis between Moscow and Leningrad. As consequence, the Moscow – Leningrad railway as been cut off and has hindered Soviet movements in the region. In the center front, German troops have reached Smolensk and are besieging the city from two sides. The Dnieper River has been crossed below Kiev and German troops advance to the east at an unprecedented pace. No word has come from our correspondent in Moscow on the attitudes of the government regarding the situation. Finland, on the otherhand, has capitulated and joined the war on the side of Russia, betraying their alliance with Germany.”
