No, I'm afraid I'm not very tech-savvy.And besides, I don't really mind doing it by hand; it's time-consuming, but then I stop and take a look at an event I wrote two years ago and find a way to improve it.
I keep asking Gilles for one to help with integration, but so far he hasn't added one (that I know of).I see. May be it should be guarded by global flag (if there is global flag for MEIOU)?
Actually, I didn't know that - I rarely use FROM because it's so temperamental when it comes to localisation.As you probably know, while you can use THIS as country in province event, you can't do that with FROM if event was fired from province event.

Whenever you get around to another milestone, I'd be interested in giving DG another try, if it's not too much trouble to release it.
I discontinued my Naples campaign when I realized that fervor wasn't being calculated and that I couldn't do anything about those pesky tiny Orthodox minorities along the Adriatic coast in terms of conversion. But it was pretty neat to see all the minorities pop up around the world. It must have taken a long freaking time to set up.

So when can we expect a new DG1.9 beta?

When I go to the download page it always says that the file in unavailable.
Ah! Good to know.
As for the download, in a day or two there will be a beta version of Dei Gratia (1.91) available, with a lot of bugs worked out. Gilles, you'll find the system revolutionary...which unfortunately also means hard to integrate into MEIOU the way you've been doing. I've added in a religious minority system which replaces gradual conversion, but this means gradual conversion isn't an option you can remove any longer - and adding new religions to the mod will be difficult (I can do it, though).

If i like the idea of religious minorities, i'm still not convinced by the gradual conversion. I guess i'll try to work something up.
Do you think you could send me the latest version (the one before implementation of the mandatory gradual conversion) by mail (gigau_ <at> hotmail <dot> com), so i work something up. If you have time to include the meiou global flag and linked adaptation, it'd be awesome![]()

I'll be adding the MEIOU global flags to the latest version, but I'd really rather not maintain two versions of the mod if I can help it - it's just too time-consuming to develop parallel, and the religious minority system has changed how everything works.
I'll e-mail you a copy of 1.261, though.![]()

Well, here's a brief explanation of it for you to start with.
The idea is fairly simple to begin with: every province has one or more variables - one for each religion present in the province. Their total should add up to 21, and whichever religion has the largest variable in the province becomes the religion of the province. The other variables represent minorities which show up as modifiers whose effects depend on your tolerance of that religion. That makes the code quite complex, since it needs to figure out which of several hundred modifiers to apply to each province! But to the player, it's all invisible, handled behind the scenes.
I use a couple of other variables that help modders; province_religion will affect only the religion of the dominant faith while converts affects only the state religion. You can use either in tandem with a change, so for example if I wanted to make a tiny Hussite minority appear in a province, I could say something like this:
change_variable = { which = "hussite" value = 2 }
change_variable = { which = "province_religion" value = -2 }
I also have other variables used in conversion: converted_heretics and converted_heathens both convert minorities to the state religion. Heretics only affects same-religion-group minorities, while heathens affects any religion at all. You can add these to events designed to unify a province theologically, such as my Jesuit events.
One of the nicest things about it is that now I can have religions in the game that never really had enough population in any one place to show up in EU3, like Jains, Zoroastrians, Jews or Nestorian Christians. This has really livened up places like India, Indonesia, Persia, Syria and Egypt...they are all now divided into many religions that makes for more interesting gameplay. And I can also better model movements like the Gnostics, Hussites or Sikhs so that it's not all-or-nothing - they can appear gradually. Instead of a religion suddenly taking over a province, you might get a small minority at first, growing to a larger minority and eventually taking over the province if you do nothing about it.
You can convert provinces with missionaries normally (if it is a different religion than yours) or by province decision if it's the same but has a minority or two present. You can also use a religious decision to convert a religion by the sword, which causes some religious refugees. I've also tied in some new events to the minorities, so you can have minorities providing aid and advisors, or rising up against you when you're at war with a strong nation of their faith, or create a haven for that religion and try to attract refugees from other nations.
I've included it in Magna Mundi Platinum 2, and it's one of the most popular parts of it according to the beta-testers. I'm really happy with it, although I'm still working on parts of it. One of the problems is that it requires me to re-write many events to make use of the new code, so my limited time modding is split between writing new content and updating old content.

That's very nice. What i think i'll do is offer the player the choice to play with one version or the other, or none, by an event at start of game. I'll discuss it with you by mail when i get home from work.

when the new MM2 is out, how do I make it posibol to make crusades?
It's been far too long, but I'm pleased to announce that there is a new version available for download. You should now be able to enjoy the new religious minority and religious fervor system completely. See the first post for a link to download the latest version!
My next plans involve an overhaul of how Islam is treated in the mod.

I started the game with the last beta of your mod, everything was running well, but now, around 1508, I have a repeatable CTD. The last entry of game.log is always Event: 'The Council of Salzburg begins' in Salzburg..
I have an autosave a few months before the CTD if needed.

Here it is.
La guerre est la pire invention de l'homme. La guerre civile est la pire des guerres.
Oh! Yes, that's caused by a modifier I added but didn't include in the mod - it has to do with something I'm working on, but not yet ready to release. All you need to do is to add a modifier called "church_council_opening_session" to your event_modifier.txt file.
I'll release a new version with this fix in it tonight.
EDIT: Updated. This will fix this bug and ought to also fix the missionary graphics for eastern religions. It is 100% save game compatible, so you can simply overwrite your August 15 version with this one.
