    [IN 3.1 minimod] Sic Semper - Thus ever...

    ...to tyrants!

    Sic Semper - v2.1

    A big name for a tiiiny mod.

    Tired of Revolutionary France still believing 'L'état c'est moi'? Annoyed by Protestant nations still believing the Pope has the final say in the goings on of their country? Perturbed by Orthodox Bulgaria* levying a tax on all non-Muslims?

    This mod is for you then!

    This tiiiny (really its only two text files!) mod is for you then!

    v2.1 includes the correct religion.txt decision file.

    v2.0 is now compatible with IN 3.1

    v1.1 fixes a few more bugs.

    v1.00 modifies:
    *fixed the looping End of Hinduism/Anti-Christian Edict bug caused by non-Hindu Eastern faiths enacting the anti-Christian edict
    *added removal of cultural and religious minority support if they cease to be cultural or religious minorities
    *added removal of devshirme system in territories you convert to your faith
    *I'm fairly certain I've gotten all the kinks out and the remaining decisions that aren't removed (Stato de Mar and Printing Presses for Venice especially, any ideas)?

    v0.41 modifies:
    *Fixed a broken event for England/Great Britain and the "Britannia Rules the Waves" modifier.

    This mod includes:
    *31 (hopefully!) functional events that remove bizarre, nonsensical, or silly modifiers from the nations of the world!
    (Most of these should be fairly obvious, Catholic decisions are removed if you convert to Protestant, Pagan decisions are removed if you convert to Reformed. The Mining Act is removed if you have no mines [gold, silver, or copper trade goods]. The Court of Wards and Liveries is removed if you are no longer a Feudal Monarchy. Note that generally decisions that require extreme slider positions will be removed by the opposite extreme, as an example if its past 1700 and you have 4 or 5 ticks towards innovative, you'll lose the witchcraft act.)
    *2 tiiiny tweaks to the religious decisions text file. One removes the "Statute of Restraint of Appeals" modifier as a requirement for a Protestant/Reformed only decision. The second makes it so that small or Stability 3 AI nations will not take the "Suffragan Bishop" decision.

    How to Download:

    Download the file from link at the beginning of the post.

    To unpack the zipped file, you need the program "7zip". Download it here:
    http://www.7-zip.org/

    Unpack the contents into the folder "[EUIII]/mod"

    Select "Sic Semper" in the EU3 launcher.

    Any advice/comments/critiques/reports of horrible glaring errors that cause your computer to explode can either go here or in a private message to me!

    The same as above if anyone/thing wants to incorporate this tiiiny mod into a big mod!

    *(As a side note, my Orthodox Bulgarian vassal's constant revolts from all the +RR Muslim decisions they had taken when they were Muslim [I annexed, converted, then released them] was the reason I did this mod.)

    Oh, and special thanks to 17blue17 for pointing all the bugs in this mod and providing hotfixes for those that asked!

    Nice Idea.

    A couple suggestions after a quick look over:

    You might want to consider adding NOT = { salt = 1 } to event 1000002 mining_act - as salt comes from mines.

    Question relating to event 1000029 - why include technology_group = muslim? I don't really understand what the event is doing - but just glancing at it - it seems strange to tell someone in the muslim tech group we can no longer sustain our anti-European practices.

    Well, that would make sense, but I just inverted the mining act's requirements to be honest.

    Event 100029 removes the Anti-Christian Edict (which can only be passed by Eastern religion group nations) if they ever westernize, the first step of westernization for African/New World/Chinese/Indian nations (aka all the nations that can possibly pass the Anti-Christian Edict) takes them to the Muslim tech group. Basically, you can't at once totally deny all European influences -and- Westernize.

    bug in "end of hinduism"

    In my game, both Arakan and Tibet (buddist nations) are stuck in a "The End of Hinduism" / "Anti-Christian Edict" loop - the event happens then they immediately make the decision again, but because they're not hindu, the event immediately fires again.

    I think the problem is the trigger for the event 1000023. It assumes Hinduism was required to add all the modifiers when the modifier the_anti_christian_edict is added with religion_group = eastern.

    Therefore I think the trigger needs to be changed to:

    Is it not still possible for a loop to happen where a country takes the decision then your event removes the modifier over and over?

    Why not have the trigger be:

    Maybe ok as you have - but I thought I should make sure

    Its unlikely, as they'd have to westernize first, but you're right, I'll change it from technology group to a check to see if they're heavily innovative, which does the same thing with less chance of an endless loop.

    There, thanks to gigau, Sic Semper is now compatible with EUIII 3.1.
