This is an updated version of Pishtaco's graphical overhaul for EUIII. It contains all the same features as version 2.1 (for details of that see this thread).
Do not attempt to use these versions of Theatrum Orbis Terrarum with any version of EUIII prior to In Nomine! I cannot stress that enough. If you have not installed In Nomine then please use version 2.1.
For 'In Nomine' (EUIII version 3.xx), please use these links for TOT 3:
Download Tot_3.0.zip or Tot_3.0.zip
For 'Heir to the Throne' (EUIII version 4.xx), I present TOT 4:
Download Tot_4.0.rar or Tot_4.0.rar
As has been noted in this thread, TOT 3 doesn't seperate Venice from the mainland very well (nor does vanilla EUIII tbh!). The new TOT for HttH provides an option (found in Optional/map in the archive) to correct this (and a few other minor errors). Because this involves changes to the .bmp's in the EUIII/map folder, and also positions.txt, using these optional files will create a different checksum for your game. I am not sure that multiplayer checks will be unaffected by this (if anyone would care to test...) If you choose to use these optional files, and you intend to overwrite the vanilla files directly, please backup first. Just in case!
Since this update has not changed any of the content from 2.1, then the graphical requirements on your machine remain as before. If you have difficulty running In Nomine with the default graphics you may want to consider an earlier version that Pishtaco released and which I have also tweaked to work with In Nomine. Download TOT12b.zip here or here.
Exactly the same as previous versions, but I'll reproduce Pishtaco's original notes below:
Place the TOT_3.0 (or TOT_4.0) folder and the TOT_3.0.mod (or TOT_3.0.mod) file in the mod subdirectory of your Europa Universalis III directory, then activate the mod from the game launcher.
If you would like to use the new font: The mod switcher doesn't like new fonts, so you have to copy tahoma_60.fnt and tahoma_60.dds from the Optional/fonts directory of this package into the /gfx/fonts subdirectory of your main EU3 directory.
If you would like to use the dynamic minimap: Copy minimap_bg.dds and minimap.dds from the Optional/minimap directory of this package into the /gfx/interface subdirectory of your main EU3 directory. Open the file borders_2_0.fx in the Optional/minimap directory of this package in notepad and change the two lines at the top to match your screen resolution. Then use this file instead of the /gfx/fx/borders_2_0.fx file of the plain TOT21 mod. There is a known bug with the dynamic minimap: province names and zoomed-out army flags will show in front of the minimap, rather than being obscured by it.
If you would like to use this mod permanently or to combine it with other mods, it may be simplest to overwrite the game files entirely rather than to use the mod switcher. In this case, copy the .fx files from /TOT_3.0/gfx/FX over the files in the /gfx/FX subdirectory of your EU3 directory, and copy the .dds files from /TOT_3.0/map/terrain over the files in the /map/terrain subdirectory of your EU3 directory. This will not change your checksum and you will still be able to play multiplayer games.
Please make backups of any files or directories you are going to overwrite.
There is an issue with the mod-switcher. It will not use the files rivers.fx and borders_2_0.fx from the mod (and possibly some other files as well). I recommend that you install the mod directly, overwriting the game files. Follow the instructions above and please make backups.
If you don't like the dot texture on the sea, open water.fx in notepad and follow the instructions at the top.
If you are modding country colours and want to change a country's colour to a grey close to 50% grey, do not use exactly the same value for red, green and blue. E.g. use (128,128,127) rather than (128,128,128). Otherwise it will appear as a tan colour in the data map modes.
