Nine months in and Japan is entirely on the defensive. Some 30 regiments and 30 ships were destroyed in the first three months; only a few replacements have been assembled. Sieges are slowly progressing as there is plenty of time before Ming is likely want to make peace so no need to take chances.
Ming’s border armies also died in the first three months – about 90 regiments. Scattered reinforcements have also been destroyed while a second campaign is now starting to take shape in the North East – there are another 50 Ming regiments here. Ming troops die fast against Castilian firepower. HOI players would probably freak at how I’m doing this – no continuous lines or encirclements just a straight (ish) march to the big cities and a series of head on firefights!
This is so manpower inefficient I should probably be banned from even thinking of reading threads by Kanitatlan.

A 10 year 1* Theologian has been dropped in the advisor pool so I swap out the artist I was filling the last slot with – I now have 5 stars of missionary boost.

Northern China March 1688
Despite this there are still large numbers of Ming regiments milling about, although not to any great effect. My armies are becoming increasingly ragged as attrition, assaults and endless small battles wear them down.

04/05/1688 Indian Trade Company fires – I have no idea what is needed for this event so this is entirely by chance – trade is not my strongpoint.
Maritime power
The naval battle is the main Ming fleet – down from 95 galleys a few days ago – I’ve lost 8 ships far, I’ll keep this going until the entire fleet is destroyed.

Peace with Japan - 19/08/1688
This is a 99 point deal with a 41% war score – but it was all downhill for Japan, no army, no navy, no capital, no COT when they signed.
Peace with Ming - 25/09/1688
98 points worth of provinces with 41% war score, although Ming’s armies are in a real mess. I concentrate on smashing enemy units not taking provinces. Beat the army, beat the enemy. The NA war capacity screen is a bit lame, if you can’t work out that you are winning then you’re probably losing
War exhaustion is 0.77, BB is 890.93. I have a feeling I’m going to end up with a very disappointing BB score – well as long as it isn’t less than 1000

A long enough gap between wars to let Ming build a lot of infantry I can promptly smash up (and waste their manpower pool a bit more) without letting their war exhaustion drop much. War taxes are basically a disaster for the AI – unless you play on Very Hard with the AI tax bonus it’s quite easy to force an AI country into a position where it doesn’t get any census tax because of WE driven RR.
