Btw, how can Luftwaffe be so strong already in 1936?

Strong? Ju-52s and Do-13s aren't exactly state of the art bombers, even by 1936 standards. It doesn't sound like TheHyphenated1 has upgraded his TAC units yet, and his first CAS squadron probably hasn't rolled off the production floor.

Indeed. A single bronzed German ubermensch in a small glider will throw a small pebble at the mighty Hood, causing the great ship to explode and setting of a chain reaction that destroys the entire fleet at anchor.

Mark my words it will happen.

that's because the target area is only two meters wide. It's a small thermal exhaust port, right below the main port.

Back home he vermin rats from his NSU motorcycle and they weren't any bigger than that.

Just ducking in to quiet down the furor :D...

No NAVs have been built or are being built, as far as the game engine is concerned. Nor, for that matter, is an entire Geschwader of CAS even in the works. According to the game engine, Sturzkampfgeschwader 51 is still equipped with TACs. The fact that its training cadre is developing a fascination with gull wings does not mean that they yet play a significant role in the combat function of the squadron.

In fact, El Pip, just for you I can even disclose that throughout the entire course of the game, Germany does not build any NAVs. I hope (probably vainly ) that that makes you feel just a little bit reassured.

So you're not denying a single German ubermensch from a back water town in lower Saxony will sink the entire RN? :p

One word:

INCREDIBLE

And I am just finished with page 12 so far! Subscribed, and thank you for a great read!

El Pip (1) - The Japanese did it to Prince of Wales and Repulse. A cheat? Maybe. Historical? Yes.

trekaddict (1) - Thanks for the backup there, ;).

Kurt_Steiner - Wait and see...

El Pip (2) - Mark your words? Consider them marked. This means that we all get to rub it in your face when that doesn't happen :p.

Enewald - Furious building and training, but as dublish points out, strong is sort of relative here.

dublish - Correct.

Juan_de_Marco - I was waiting for someone to make that reference!

trekaddict (2) -

El Pip (3) - I might as well deny it now, then.

trekaddict (3) - Fair enough.

ShadowMaster - Thank you very much, and welcome aboard! Looking forward to hearing more from you as you continue to read!

Well there is a difference between the success of the Japanese after years of training in carefully designed specialist planes and the Germans having three months and some bodged up bombs. I would point to Dunkirk were despite almost ideal conditions (stationary ships and air superiority) the Luftwaffe managed to sink four old destroyers after several days of determined attack and not much else.

So to correct your answer; Historical? For Japan Yes. For Germany No.

All true enough. The only thing I was really addressing was the idea of NAVs being a cheat.

As for the diminished Luftwaffe capacity in anti-ship operations, that is reflected in TTL in its inability to significantly damage Hood and Repulse in the channel.

Juan_de_Marco - Can I count on you to chime in with "fully operational battle-station" at the appropriate moment?

Atlantic Friend - Heaven forfend ;).

Who recognizes this man, whose actions will again send shock-waves throughout the war? He is, no doubt, a man of sterling character ;).

Well, another 25 pages have been most eagerly consumed, bringing me to the start of page 38 for the next time I can make time for some recreational reading!

Very well done, and a most extraordinary read all the way through. From reading (cheating and reading the last 2-3 pages now, as opposed to in order) ahead, I come to realise (as I didn't in the beginning---DOH), that your AAR is actually based on a game you played as Germany!

I really wish I had a fraction of your talent at writing.;)

Anyhow, just wanting to say thank you once again for a most outstanding AAR, and I hope you will continue with your excellent updates!
