I really can't believe that Hitler has given Göring so much power, the man sleeps during important meetings. Surely even Hitler realizes that this is a bad thing. I mean it is Hitler, but still.
Out of curiosity did Göring ever fall asleep while at a meeting attended by Hitler?
How would Hitler ever agree to this? Stubborn as he is, he would probably have told Schacht to find another way to make the money.Originally Posted by TheHyphenated1

Hitler was reading Weltkriegschaft, when suddenly his face contorted into an expression of shock. His eyes bulged out of his sockets and he dropped the manuscript he was holding, mouth wide open.
His grandfather... his grandfather was jewish. All those speeches he made, the Nuremberg laws, and he was just like them, a jew.
Two words went through Hitler's head: "Oh Shit....."

), both for Favorite Narrative AAR and the other categories (Weltkriegschaft made a strong showing in both Favorite AAR and Favorite New Writer). I take my stahlhelm off with appreciation!
. Der Grofaz did indeed have a habit of maddening indifference during meetings. The medal-adjusting, finger-tapping and dozing off that you've seen in Weltkriegschaft are all well attested historically. The first account of actually sleeping in front of Hitler came from 1945, by which time his morphine addiction had worsened. In that incident (according to historian Antony Beevor), Goering unfolded a large paper map during one of Hitler's long strategy meetings, placed it over his face, and went to sleep.

). As I recall, the atmosphere in Berlin by the time of that incident was so surreal that Goering sleeping was just about the least of everyone's worries.
