I tend to agree. But it´s 50 tanks + motorised/mechanized infantry against what? hordes of 41/43 infantry and three tanks? Perhaps the AI will show you that it only needs enough mobile forces to overrun something. Perhaps. I guess we will find out.

Against the same Soviet Navy that did NOTHING during WW2. Honestly, I think there is a lesson there too.

I think Hirohito has a right to be a bit of a bad ass, he is the last emporer in the world, and his tiny little country has beaten the crap outta the likes of Great Britain and the United States.

All with an army 5 years outta date, and ships that are from the 1920's.

I think we can safely say the he will keep the Russian bottled up on Sakhalin to say the least, and ultimately the will regret the dastardly attack that they commenced on him.

As far as I can tell in my game this doesn't appear to be necessary and CAG upgrades occur whilst at sea (DD 1.3). I suggest you check the ship statistics a couple of days after the tech comes in before deciding what to do.

thats quite unfair on Soviet Sailors. A large part of the forces holding Leningrad and Sevastopol were Sailors, and they proved themselves very good troops. As for naval action, not much, but plenty of bombarding actions at Leningrad!

Not to forget the Soviet Submarine Fleets. They were quite active in the Baltic Sea.

Oh-oh, the red bear is loose! I hope that you will still be able to counter the soviets and teach those Mongolians who the boss is....maybe you can figure out some large encirclement from this front and hope that the Red Army will die with millons.....in the Chinese jungle....and mountains...kill them all, Japan will rule the world!

While I'm not bashing the service that the Red Navy did for their country, in the overall aspect of the war, other than their service providing fire support for besieged Leningrad, they did nothing. In the 5 times they even saw battle against the Germans, they turned on their hind end and ran, even though they had superiority in all of those. I don't know of any battle that they had against the Japanese, by that time the Imperial Navy was decimated anyways.

I don't count marines as part of their service either, those were under army command anyways.

As for Haile Selassie, I dont' count him becasue at this point his "Empire" is a puppet to the British, and they have a King, not an Emporer.

In RL the Red Navy caused havoc on german transports in 1945, when the germans tried to evacuate troops from the encircled east prussia. A russian submarine sunk the "Gustloff", a big ship, which was a holiday ship before the war, and nearly 10 000 people died, because the ship was overcrowed with soldiers and civilian refugees.

The Brits do have an emperor - Emperor of India. I believe the attitude was if France and Germany got one, we're having one as well! (It's not too far off why we bid for the 2012 Olympics ).

I'm confident Remble will manage masterfully against the Red Horde, I'll just miss the naval campaigns...

They did absolutely nothing. When the Finnish gulf was heavily mined and both Finns and Germans had air superiority almost no Soviet submarine put it's face out from the Kronstadt. Later when Estonia and Latvia were mostly taken then they had a littlebit more success. But their actions wouldn't change the course of war but would spare couple thousand of lives. I think they had a bit of more success if anything in Murmansk when escorting convoys.

With the help of storms (known as kamikaze, or "divine wind") the Japanese twice defeated enormous Mongol invasions.

Let us hope the Imperial air forces can act in the role of those storms and save Japan once again, this time from an even larger horde from the steppes.
