After lurking for months, I've decided to fnially do my own AAR. I will be playing the Ottoman Empire in the Kaiserreich mod with the goal of as much territorial expansion as possible. I plan on making this a screenshot heavy game play AAR, since those are usually my favorite kind.

Stats:
Nation: Ottoman Empire
Game: Arma 1.1 with Kaiserreich Mod
Difficulty: Normal/Normal
Cheats: I used the money and acceptall cheats in the beginning to be able to get my puppets into my alliance without having to spend a ridiculous amount of money, I don't think this was unreasonably. I do not plan on cheating during this AAR any more. I will also refrain from any tactics I think are gamey.

First update coming in a few minutes.

The Ottoman Empire in 1936 is still the sick man of Europe, not even a victory in a war that had radically changed the balance of power in the world had changed that. The Ottoman Empire had become a quasi-client state of the German Second Reich when Germany sent veiled threats to Ottoman leaders when talk of reform and industrialization were on the table in Ottoman politics. Germany wants to maintain the status quo, but we will work to restore what was once the most powerful empire in the world to its former glory.

Siding with Germany had it's advantages, the Ottomans gained political domination of former Ottoman territories in Northern Africa, and on January 2nd of 1936 formed the Ankara Pact, a military and economic alliance of which the Ottoman Empire is the leader. Germany was not happy with this shift in power in the region, relation grew frosty. In the event of the war that everyone knows is coming, the Ankara Pact will have to fight on its own, against which enemy we do not yet know.

The Ankara Pact:

Europe. Central Europe and Eastern Europe is clearly dominated by Germany and Mitteleuropa, with Western Europe being largely under Syndicalist control

Conquest will likely start in Central Asia, where there is expected to be little opposition by the native populations against Ottoman rule. There is no single nation in Central Asia that can hope to defeat us. It is unlikely that the great powers will intervene in this area as well.

The Ottoman government:

The Ottoman Military is weak compared to the great powers, but the strongest in the region.

The Ottoman Navy is rather old and weak, but still the strongest navy in the region, and the only navy in the Ankara Pact.

In order to improve the efficiency of industry and military, technologies are being researched in those areas:

A small step in the direction of industrialization:

Well there's the first update, I hope you liked it. I am open to all constructive critcism.

Thanks, it's a fun scenario.

In May a general order was sent out for all available military units to concentrate on the border of the socialist Georgian nation. Civilian and military leaders alike agreed that s socialist state on our border could increase nationalist and revolutionary sentiments in the already unhappy South Western areas of the Empire, so there was little opposition in the government to the decision to invade.

While this was happening, our scientists completed designs on the new weapons and the like that would be essential for modernizing our army.

More technology.

As hostilities erupt in Ethipia, the Ottoman Empire issues a declaration of war against Georgia with causus belli of "Georgian agents collaborating with Syrian nationalists and syndicalists in an attempt to overthrow the Ottoman state."

The Ottoman-Georgian War

General Osman leads an attack on Batum. A position in Batum would allow us to attack Tbilisi more effectively, and put our forces with in attacking distance of Maikop.

The outnumbered Georgian forces had to retread from Batum. We then predictably attack the Georgia's capital and only industrial center, Tbilisi.

Osman leads an ambitious attempt to capture Maikop, but is repelled.

Reinforcements arrive, and Osman's second assault on Maikop will succeed.

With all population and industrial centers occupied, the Georgian government is forced to flee. They fled to Paris in where they hold a government in exile and vow to return. In the Ottoman Empire, the reclamation of our former territory is celebrated.

That's all for tonight, I'll try to keep updating at least a couple times a week though.

Nice there is a large number of Kaiserreich coming at the time.. How come you didnt wait for the Propaganda events for Georgia to fire? Thought they would give a almost free DOW..

Well, I didn't even know about those. I have only played through this mod a few times, I don't have the events down.

Just curious, but you do know that we've released two versions that are newer than the one that you're playing. Just in case you haven't played for that long and you wouldn't mind restarted to get extra fun :).

It looks like this could be very interesting.

I second the attack on Persia, they have oil and are dissent free!

Aye take the Persian oilfields, theirs no British Empire to tut tut now is there? ;)

Only one thing. Armenia is your ally? I REALLY can't see a nationalistic fascist Armenia siding with the Ottomans. 1000 years of ethnic hatred doesn't go away over night, particularly when the leaders are flag waving jingoists!

Still great stuff, keep it up!

woo for Osmanlı İmparatorluğu. And on Kaiserreich.. mm.. I wish my 1914 Ottoman AAR was better... anyhow. Who is the next target? Armenia?

I saw Enver Pasha as one of your ministers, but didn't he really die on August 4, 1922..? But... since Ottoman Empire didn't die on the mod so he just might be alive

On 4 August 1922 however, as he was celebrating the Ramadan at his headquarters near the village of Ab-ı Derya near Dushanbe, the Russian forces launched a surprise attack, during which he was killed.

oh and Osman Pasha died in 1900... but no it's not yourfault :d you didn't make the mod and who cares about the leaders anyway? :p I just noticed it

GeneralHannibal: I think I'll just keep going with the version I have, but after I'm done I'll certainly download the newest version. Thanks for the headsup.

RoadToMoscow: I plan on building som CAS and INTs, but not at this time.

stnylan: Thank you.

People talking about attacking Persia: I'll attack persia at some point to gain entrance to central asia. Their German GoI makes me wary though.

Dr. Gonzo: Not sure about Armenia, they are not merely an ally though, they're a puppet.

Jushu: My next target will be Azerbaidjan I think. I have to sell supplies for metal and rare materials, I could use the oil as a trading tool, and perhaps as fuel at a later date.

rcduggan: Thanks, I'll probably need it when going head to head with the great powers.

Update coming later tonight.

You should go for the Nejd soon :)

The Ottoman-Azerbaijani War

Veteran forces of the Georgian campaign are ordered to move to the Ottoman-Azerbaijani border.

Drama.

Was is declared against Azerbaijan under the pretense of protecting Armenians in and around Kirovabad. The end of war settlement will give Armenia their Kirovabad core. Armenian forces are ordered into Kirovabad and Ottoman forces are ordered to help Armenian forces and swing through to Baku for a swift and crushing victory.

British syndicalists defeat Canadian royalists on Iceland.

Portugal sells Mozambique to the expansionist Mittelafrika.

A combined assualt of Armenian forces and on Ottoman mountain division fail to take Baku. We have clealy underestimated the Azerbaijani army.

Ottoman forces are instructed to travel and wait in Kirovabad instead of marching directly to Baku so as to give time to rest and think up the most efficient way of attacking.

We have learned from our mistakes, and attack with the full force of the Armenian and Ottoman armies.

The attack succesful, the Azerbaijani army is broken, and it is only a matter of marching.

Facing total defeat, Azerbaijan capitulates. The Ottoman Empire is now someone of an oil power, and will be able to hold some economic clout, something which it lacks in Europe. Armenia annexes Kirovabad, completing the goal of uniting the nation. All is well, so far.
