aka Swedish Empire

On the time of the Napoleonic wars Sweden, under the ruling house of Wasa, was under attack by Imperial Russia (Finnish war 1808-1809). After the humiliation of the Royal army during the war, Sweden had to give "the eastern provinces", also known as Finland, to the Russian Empire. The King of Sweden (Gustav IV Adolf) was arrested and the ruling house was changed from Wasa to Bernadotte.

During this AAR my objective is to gain control of all Nordic countries (Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland, Greenland) and to hold the union as long as possible alive. Enjoy!

So here it goes:

Months passed... There was ethnic unrest on the Ottoman ruled Balkans. Greece is desperate to gain control of Crete, but is backed down by the Great Powers. The world holds its breath. The British empire conquered Sudan and destroyed the native armies. Now they blocked the Nile from foreign powers. France didn't want to take a risk and invade Egypt... Peace on our lifetimes.

Not much time passed and Greece declared war on the Ottomans:

But soon after Russia and Austria-Hungary joined the war with Ottomans, the Greek goverment sued for peace.

China. The mysterious country in the far east. A good place for some imperialism eh?

After the Germans gained Tsingtao, Russia had to act!

On the same time the USS Maine blew up in the harbour of Havanna. France demanded land from China to assist their ally, Russia.

Good luck with the Norwegian nationalists, the union might become increasingly unstable unless it manages to succesfully reform itself.

The Spanish-American war is on, although Spanish forces haven't been defeated on Cuba yet. After Germans seized Tsingtao, Russia demanded Port Arthur.. Japanese didn't like it so much so Russia decided to sign an agreement with Korea. The Qing Empire has been suffered from Europeans seizing cities for naval bases and footholds. Chinese civilians all over the country are getting restless.

The New Flagship of the Swedish royal navy is complete!

Now when the flagship is complete, Oscar II of Sweden and Norway called up the general staff... " Gentlemen! Operation Unification.. shall begin!. " It is our duty to unite the Nordic lands to a one GRAND empire! ". " It is time to invade Denmark...". Said the king ... the staff cheered for the king!

But 1st we need more men!

In China a rebellion has been born.

The Rebels made quite a mess which ended to a war against the Great Powers

But soon this rabble was destroyed and Peking was relesed and is under British administration.

Mr. Broström resigns... ?

He shall resign if he want's to... We don't need him anyway.

Now... The invasion shall begin! 1st we attack to Jutland, from there we advance towards the island of Fyn and there to Sjælland and Copenhagen! After they're defeated we can go and take out Iceland and annex!

After months of battle... the Royal army couldn't advance further than Aalborg... it was time to telegram the Kaiser..

Now Sweden is a part of the Central Powers. Germany attacked Odense immidietly.

The war was long... almost a year but we gained the control of Copenhagen and managed to annex the nation!Shame we lost those 2 islands to Germans but... We are sure that she'll give them to us.

Now what is this? von Otter resigns... Take Broström back!

The year 1902 changed to 1903... Peace ruled over the world. There has been some unrest in the old Danish lands, but no revolts so far. They're getting used to their new King. As Sweden joined the Central Powers, Russia had been reinforcing her border with Sweden. It might be a problem in the future, only thing we can do is to recuit more troops and build fortifications and hope for the best. The King also ordered to industrialize the country, two factories were started to build.

The year 1903 did go pretty well for Sweden. Some fortifications were built(in Luleå) and army size grew. Also unrest in Denmark is over so we can pull most of the army from there to the eastern border. But still more are needed against the increasing numbers of the Russian Imperial Army. Gladly she has most of her troops in Europe protecting herself from German-and Austro-Hungarian empires.

Another year passed quite peacefully. More fortifications were built and militia recuited to ensure order in Norway and Denmark so the royal army could protect the borders. Peace peace and order until... Broström is going to resign! AGAIN! O_O

The King is getting depressed for the lack of leadership of the goverment. We must let Broström go... The King is hoping that the Union will stand by changing the goverment..
