Stalin goes Ding Dong

At 1936 Stalin starts great purge that erases most of his army.


And he starts to build much much factories and then kill some dissent with heavy hand.

Research is going well on first year.

At 1938 Stalin decide to keep traitor’s because that may be needed later. Rest of starting fleet is scrapped when Stalin notices that those battleships are SLOW. Dissent is fought with even heavier hand.

At 1939 Ripper pact is done with Germany and Nasty Soviet army attacks against poor Finnish.

Paratroopers have landed on Turku and first combined arms army is moving there by transports while CV fleet guards Gulf of Finland.


Soviet armies easily break Finnish resistance in Helsinki and CV fleet is kicking ass with Finnish fleet. CAS’s are having fun.


Seven days after beginning of war Finnish sue for peace and they are accepted.

Stalin’s army is quite small at beginning of 1940. So he plans soon to gear up a little.


Game information:

No cheat’s(not even nofog that I usually use in AAR’s because of information that it give’s to readers)

I hope someone want to see how I fare in my first ever Soviet game(country is too big for my taste)

Let’s see can I uphold three AAR’s same time(two English and one Finnish). I have went back to school to learn English, so maybe some day there will be little more improved grammar and less typos.

Game is played to German attack with Normal difficulty, then you have choice to vote which kind of war comes after it.

Vote A:
Game is turned to Very hard and small, but vicious Soviet army ATTACKS Germany, not caring about cost and retreat is not an option.

Vote B:
Stalin goes really ding dong and he went insane after German betrayal and DoW’s the world. Meaning DoW to every country and played with normal difficulty.

Your choice.

Vote D (Or don’t vote at all):
Don’t bother there is too many Soviet AAR’s or it’s done already or stick with your other two AAR’s and do them better….

what version of HOI2 is this, armageddon or some mod. It looks very nice and different. Oh and take on the germans with the fury of the motherland, VH and agressive!!

I'd say A, it's exactly what Germany would do to the SU, so this is a role reversal.

Well i think you can get even better grafiks, i have to use those slower computer sprite grafiks, because i'm still playing with my allmighty pentium 2 with 666 prosessor. There is better graphics for faster computers, but i didn't dare to take them.

3 A and 3 B if i have counted right, both of them are going to be extremely difficult. As i said first game with soviets and i think that i have little over 100 infantry divisions before WAR. It's autumn 1940 and i'm still researching 1941 infantry.

Tomorrow i check if there has been more votes and i start at weekend. Vote now, you have little over 24 hours.

Sneak Previev to future of Ding Dong.

May 2. is the date 1941

Well I have not played as long that war would start, but here in few pics from few month before German(Usually) Invade Soviets and at last part is little for my research and production army sizes. These pics are taken with no fog, in game fog will be in use.

First we go to Finnish front.


Then we go to Baltic Front, I waited for event to attack there. Surprise, there was no event so they are still alive.


Germa’s are currently returning from Yugoslavia, so there isn’t much there. Maybe there shall soon be much more.


And Balkan front. Armies equal, but I think they got lot’s of reserves coming from former Yugoslavia.
