That is what I'm thinking at least, and I just thought I'd be a nice change, I think I like the leader picks better since I can't get a Confederate Flag yet heh.
Indeed, the road has long been leading up towards a war with the North, after all, it was just a matter of time before the two nations came to blows again now that each nation is basically fighting for its own survival now.
Sure are, I'll include them in the next update!
Afraid you may be right, but it makes for a good story! lol

I actually starting to get a little more hopeful about the outcome of this war.
Ultimatum
[President Russell prepares to sign the ‘March Ultimatum’]
By mid Febuary, Vice President Thurmond presented Patton’s plan for an invasion of the United States in the event of war. Russell quickly approved the plan and gave Thurmond the order to pull in military forces from all ends of the nations military spectrum, which would include the first Mexican Army to cross national borders under an allied flag. Large numbers of Mexican troops would supplement the Confederacys lack of troops to spare in the soon to be Western Theater, spreading all along the border from Mexicalli to Seqouyah while the majority of experienced troops we’re deployed to the the Eastern Theater, where the majority of the fighting would matter most.
While Thurmond was busy organizing the military, Russell acted quickly to gain the support of Parliament before his plans we’re discovered and brought into light by playing off the fears of both the nations public and those of individual Parliamentary representatives with a simple but effective question; Where will they go after the Japanese have been deffeated? It would be Russells silver tounge and the fears of a nation that would guide Parliament to allow the president to sign the famous “March Ultimatum” that would demand the United States stop it imperialistic war against the Japanese Empire and demilitarize the Confederate- U.S. border by March 15th, 1958 under the pain of war.
The Ultimatum was delivered to President Alf Landon the next day, with much opposition from Grand Admiral Chester Nimitz who disagreed with Patton’s notion of possible victory over the United States and opposed the idea of war. Nimitz would underline the fact that the Confederate Navy has never been able to stand up to the United States on the sea’s, and without control of the seas, supplies, food and troops coming in from the Dominons or Europe would grind to a hault and the Confederacy would eventually starve itself running on only what it made within its borders. He also warned against the political repercussion war could have with European neighbors, who we’re too caught up to provide aid that was essential in Confederate Victory in the past, stating that unless seen as the victim of war, support from Europe would dry up and eventually the Confederacy would loose the ground it gained from benifiting such a close relationship with Europe.
[Military comparisons of the CSA and its allies]
In an offical report to Parliament, Vice President Thrumond brought statistics that showed that with the combined military power of the CSA and its allies, a victory would be very possible and that Grand Admiral Nimitz was underestimating the nations capabilities. Nimitz was officially backed by John Garner jr. who’s opposition of war was undermined by the fear of the majority of Parliament that the Confederacy would be next on the U.S. hitlist. Patton would quickly jump to the Vice Presidents side, offering his own military opinion, which was countered by Nimitz and Garner who believed it wasn’t too late to retract the Ultimatum and smooth things over with the United States. Both Nimitz and Patton would face off in heated debate that would be seen as the breaking point on whether or not the ultimatum should be retracted.
The debate would be squashed with the sudden death of Nimitz, who passed away in his sleep the night before the final debate. When news reached Patton, it was said that he was so in shock he steped down from further debate in order to personally mourn the death of his well respected rival. The nation was shocked and in mourning with the death of a national hero and great military commander. While the nation mourned, support of the retraction wavered and without a strong opposer other than Garner, who was now branded a socialist whos agenda went against Confederate status quo, the retraction failed and the threat of war stood. Military forces contiued to gather along the border as President Al Smith hadn’t returned an answer, keeping both the Confederate Government and the Military on their toes while they searched to replace Nimitz, who was considered (even by Patton)to be an ireplacable asset to the future war. Admiral Tching, who was commander of the CSN Pacific Fleet and supporter of Russell’s policies, was promoted to Grand Admiral and put in charge of the CSN Atlantic Fleet in order to fill Nimitz’s shoes, but no Confederate naval commander would be able to replace the experience orskill that was possessed by Nimitz.
The pre-planning stages of the war would show the first extensive use of the emense espionage web that Huey Long had put in place in the begining months of his presidency and over the cource of the years leading up to Russells administration. Spys had long infiltrated the United States, starting with Huey Long’s initial plans for the nation to satisfy his paranoia of war with the industrial giant and in 1948, years of data from constant spying and reconnaissance finally became of use with the first comprehensive report on the military and research prowess of the United States.
These reports, provided by the Confederate Office of External Affairs for this book, would initally be disheartening to the Russell administration as it showed how little information had been gathered, and how little could be trusted. While information regarding U.S. research was more comprehensive, the military reports could be considered less than reliable. Information regarding the U.S. navy were shaky at best, with many military advisers believing that many of the reports could be falsely reported or even fakes by the U.S. government to throw off C.S. Intelligence. None the less, Russell used what information was gathered and put it to use against the U.S., smearing their relations with Europe by invoking images of brutal devastation caused by the U.S. military during their war with Japan, and with pictures provided by the Japanese Imperial Government, crushed any hopes of European intervention in American affairs on the side of the United States.

An unwelcomed death, indeed. Well, time will tell.

Interesting update from a couple of weeks ago. This is definitely going to be a tough road for the CSA. Stick with this AAR when you can, Volga. Its been an interesting two-year ride so far (longer, when you add in the Ricky chapter), and I look forward to the confrontation which we all know must come.
Excellent update as always Volga, just don't let this die! I like the way that the CSA and USA are being dragged into war with eachother, despite not really wanting it, it's much more realistic than a fascist/communist USA/CSA scenairo (if done well, they're good, but most are not...)
THE CHANNEL TUNNEL DOES NOT WORK!
Hello everyone, I wish I could bring back the dead, but I can't. My old computer finally died and I have a new one, but everything I had is lost forever now. I've just now re-bought everything and have the time to do somthing other than work and school, so I thought I would put an official end. Im sorry to disapoint everyone and am far more disapointed that I can't finish what I started, thank you all for your loyalty and patience with me, and I'm sorry to say that I let you down.

That's too bad, it's a great AAR. I choose to believe that the USA and CSA destroyed the world in nuclear hellfire.

Just found this now. was a good read. I look forward to any more you may make in the future!
I'm glad you all enjoyed it so much! I may have a bit of hope for a proper ending, I did manage to salvage a some updates I had planned on using when the war with the U.S. started, if you'd all like I may be able to give this a proper ending.
