In my three games played in this scenario, in all three Christian Rus lasted no more than 40 years, normally conquered by the Mordvins, nomands and Vyatchians (well, in the last there was a guy in the Crimea with one county and 7 northern duchy titles :) ). Anyone have any problems replacing the KIEV tag in the 1066 scenario with RUSS, making it elective with 3 of the 4 other Rus princes as vassals (i.e. excluding Polotsk)? The argument against this is supposed to be gameplay as Rus was no more politically disunited than Germany or France, but in 1066 the gameplay suffers because there Rus has been replaced by a bunch of unassociate duchies next to a pagan superpower.

I'll be doing this in my own version anyways ... but just wondering what people think about this as a general change.
 
@Calgalus: Rus' existing is not something I'd do in the 'main' DVIP, but I'll consider it for the MK addon.

I will of course also still use this Paradox forum thread, but over the next few days I'll be setting up the new forum with threads for different regions and ideas, which hopefully will make it a lot easier to keep track of development of the mod. It will also help in moving towards a more open, team-based effort (hopefully!).

I was wondering whether you could also change the current Piasts in 1337 scenario.

The situation is:

Kazimierz Piast(current king of poland) was son of one Wladyslaw. This one was son of Kazimierz, a brother to Leszek the Black and another Kazimierz. Currently some fictional characters have appeared in CK instead of them. I noticed this first time :wacko: (and I played CK for a while now), mainly because I started a campaign as Poland.

Also it would be nice if you could also connect the various Piasts of Mazovia, Silesia and Pommerania together(the Gryfita dynasty is allegedly descended from Boleslaw Wrymouth).

I believe Scots should be named just that, and that Scottish Gaelic should be merged with Irish, as the two languages were pretty much one and the same in the given timeframe.

Thought should also be given to the spread of Scots. I have no doubt that the melting pot could be finetuned as not to touch the Highlands (incl. Atholl) and Carrick.
 
So with the new patch out is it compatiable with this mod, and can I just hit the patch or would I have to re-install the whole deal?

The one real difference with the most recent if the event fixes in the beta patches is how the "province improvement burned during siege" event is fixed -- I check for the province owner and let it fire for him, so the right person is always targeted, whereas the official mod just checks random_enemy. This works the same way usually, unless you're fighting multiple enemies (it could fire for an enemy whose provinces are not under siege at all). I prefer having it only fire for an enemy who actually has provinces under siege...

It froze on me too

I waited a few mins, should it take longer than that? I suppose I can just leave it running to check

edit: I just ran it again and waited 20+ mins, no result it just hung on reading scenario

I tried this with the 1066 scenario as the Duke of Northumbria (northumberland?), I wasn't loading a savegame or anything, and I dont have any other CK/DV mods installed (aside from the latest beta patch)

The game had no trouble loading up the duke of northumbria before i added the DVIP for what its worth

I have not tried DVIP before so I can't say if previous versions worked or not
