I found some errors concerning Valois dynasty:

-Simon also known as "Saint Simon", son and heir of count Raoul de Valois (id40406) is missing! (huge missing by CK DevTeam...)
+born in 1048
+traits: martial cleric + zealous (he retired in a monastery and critizcise Church's wealth) + temperate (he gave up his lands in her sister's favor)
+high martial value: he managed to fight against king Philippe during 3 years.
+low health (died at 33 like Jesus ;)) and low fertility (died heirless).

-count Raoul's daughter, Adèle (id40409) is better known as Alix. Small change for you Jordar' ;)

-count Raoul and Anna Rurikovich (id627) should be married. And Anna should be sent to the Valois' court. Anna should also be Raoul's friend since they got excommunicated due to their mariage.

good catches Drachenfire ! ;)

Now it's my turn to propose some modifications !

Recently, I started a game with county of Monteferrato (1066) and I found some weird things:

Guiglielmo di Montferrato(id7732), heir and son of count Oddone (id7730) is 26 but his mother, Constanza de Savoie (id7731) is 31 :wacko: I thought it was a simple error in her birthdate... But in fact, there are lot of errors concerning this dynasty:

+in 1066, count Oddone di Montferrato (id7730) was not married. Moreover, I haven't found any mention of a high "coefficient" of consanguinity. His father didn't marry his sister/cousin AFAIK, he married a "Waza". So I think his inbred trait should be removed.

+his wife in CK, Constanza de Savoie (id7731) wasn't born yet in 1066 ! IRL she wasn't the daughter of Amadeo I de Savoie (id1178). Her parents were Amadeo II de Savoie (id1184) courtier in county of Savoy and her mother was Jehanne of Geneve (id10080).

+Oddone's son, Guiglielmo was born after 1066.

So there is some work for you Djordarkelf:

1) "delete" Constanza de Savoie (id7731)
2) "delete" Guiglielmo di Montferrato (id7732)
3) remove Oddone's inbred trait
4) although Jehanne of Geneve (id10080) is very young in CK (13 or 14 IIRC), give her her husband Amadeo de Savoie (id1184)
5) BTW, I think it would be more correct to rename the "de Savoie" dynasty in "di Savoia ". It sounds more italian and then more historical.

EDIT: new modification. It concerns "of Geneve" dynasty (id100239). It would be more correct to give her his german name: "von Genf"

This source however has the same set-up as CK. :)

Also to put the Scottish suggestions by Drachenfire into perspective, it's interesting to see what has been discussed about the Scottish set-up, most of those suggestions have been made by Calgacus. Since though in most cases Calgacus has already posted these changes and they have been taken over by Drachenfire, in some cases Drachenfire chooses a different set-up. Like f.e. giving Buchan in 1187 a countess. :) (I wonder why he does that ;) )

CK setup is right like I said before.

The fact is that Guiglielmo can't be born circa 1040 because his mother, Constanza de Savoie is born after 1066
==>Constanza's real mother, Jehanne of Geneve is 12 in 1066, and her real father Amadeo II is 20.

Here is Amadeo's bio:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amadeus_II_of_Savoy

As you can see, Constanza's real parents are Amadeo de Savoie and Jehanne de Geneve.
The Constanza de Savoie present in CK never existed as you can see in your site:

http://genealogy.euweb.cz/savoy/savoy1.html

Amadeo haven't got a daughter called Constanza like in CK.

That's why we should delete Constanza de Savoie and Guglielmo di Montferrato

I do not like being accused of Plagerism.

I fully disclosed my sources in my posts.

In terms of the set up per county, I checked what was on Wiki rather then any posts here on Paradox. If the sources match, it may be because it is the most correct structure (and I am sure Calgacus has contributed to the Wiki articals). You can tell this as I have linked up most souces on Wikipedia.

Additionally, I credit Ayshante with the generic dynasty list and Calgacus with the naming list-merged-with-Gaelic. There has been no claim of credit on my part other then double checking what was posted on those threads with what was available on Wikipedia.

in some cases Drachenfire chooses a different set-up. Like f.e. giving Buchan in 1187 a countess. :) (I wonder why he does that ;) )

Thank you again for pointing out the blantant rejection of the historic reality of women rulers and title holders in the middle ages. :)

I am sorry, that is a misunderstanding, I didn't mean to accuse you of plagerism or not giving credit to people.

My sincere apologies for this misunderstanding, which is wholly due to my clumsiness.

Another modification, this one deals with Eudes de Vermandois (id40432), son and heir of count Herbert de Vermandois (id418). His birthdate in CK (1050) is wrong. In fact, his parents married in 1060 as you can see here if you read french.

http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herbert_IV_de_Vermandois

IRL, his birthdate is about 1060. See here

As you can read, Eudes is called Eudes "l'insensé", this means insane. But I don't think we should give him the "crazy" trait. It will make this county quite unplayable for the player.

To conclude, it's just a small fix for you Jordarkelf: change Eudes' birthdate from 1050 to 1060 and reduce his stats to match them with his new age.

No worries, I am sorry too for any misunderstandings.

There are bugs in event 7037, 7038 and 7039 (Battle_events)

The text says this

Code:
########################################
# Bonus troop for prestigious character #
#########################################

# Scaled: The higher the title the higher the prestige needed, the more troops, and the higher the maintenance cost

But when you look at the event-triggers you see that the prestige needed is the same for a count, duke and king

Code:
# Count:

character_event = {
	id = 7037

	picture = "event_appearance"

	trigger = {
		condition = { type = atwar }
		condition = { type = county }
		condition = { type = prestige value =  500 }
	}

Code:
# Duke:

character_event = {
	id = 7038

	picture = "event_appearance"

	trigger = {
		condition = { type = atwar }
		condition = { type = duchy }
		condition = { type = prestige value =  500 }
	}

Code:
# King:

character_event = {
	id = 7039

	picture = "event_appearance"

	trigger = {
		condition = { type = atwar }
		condition = { type = kingdom }
		condition = { type = prestige value =  500 }
	}

My suggestion would be to change the values as follows

count = 250 prestige
duke = 500 prestige
king = 1000 prestige

Modify the modifiers accordingly

A small bug in the 1187 scenario

Marguerite d'Ibelin, should be a 'female' :), she was the youngest daughter of Bailan d'Ibelin and Maria Komnena. Her education should also be changed

Code:
character = {
	id = { type = 10 id = 23574 }
	name = "Marguerite"
	gender = male
	dynasty = { type = 12 id =165 }
	father = { type = 10 id = 23570 }
	mother = { type = 10 id = 15560 }
	country = C779
	religion = catholic
	culture = Frankish
	birthdate = { year = 1181 month = january day = 1 }
	dna = "72072506623174"
	attributes = {
		martial = 7
		diplomacy = 5
		intrigue = 4
		stewardship = 7
		health = 5
		fertility = 6
	}
	traits = {
		martial_education = yes
	}
}

Status update:

DVIP 9 is fully complete with all discussed changes up to this point...

but I have some database mismatch in the 1066 scenario I cannot find yet. At the moment 1066 gives one error, then crashes at startup :wacko:

1187 works without errors, so I know it must be something in 1066. I really wish CK would tell us what the error was!

Release will be held until I can fix it. I've been trying to for the past few hours :(

Just in case someone wants to take a look at it and see if they spot the error:
http://members.chello.nl/b.kroonspecker/temp/DVIPv9.zip
For testing purposes only!
As mentioned, the error is somewhere in the 1066 scenario.
Ignore errors in the 1066_scenario.eug file, those cannot prevent loading. Once I get the scenario working I will update the eug files.

Would dynasty id's be the problem? Double check to be sure the dynasty id's are not duplicated. When I get home I will try and download and test.

No, dynasties are global so I would also get errors in 1187 if the bug was there. Likewise events or database files.
The problem must be in one of the 1066 scenario files, but I've not found it yet.
I'll continue searching for it tomorrow.

It's probably a country mismatch somewhere... I had to shuffle around a lot of characters and provinces, and if I missed a single character or province anywhere the scenario doesn't work. It's just a pain to debug.

I still have the DV IP More Kingdoms on my computer, I can start with the Scottish realms as now I am more familure with them and will work my way down from there.... try and compare your changes with what was in place before to see if I spot anything. But it will be a few hours before I get there though.

Could it be an id out-of-range? There is 1 character with id # 901301 and it might be CK doesn't support that high of id #s.

No, that can't be it I have character ID's that are much longer and I have no problems with them

Found and corrected some minor character errors, but unfortunately have not yet found the database inconsistency. I'll keep looking.
"Snapshot" upload will be updated around 19:00h CET tonight if I can get home by then. (UPDATE: up only a lot later, sorry)

I think the error is somewhere in Russia as that is the only place where I really had to change province rule, introduce a new tag (MINS for the Vyatichs), and add and move courtiers.
If I can't find the error before tonight I'm going to replace Russia's setup with the v8 one (before introducing the Vyatichs) and see if it loads. If so, I'll have to introduce the changes one step at a time and hope I can find where I went wrong.
