Cold War mod - Soviet Edition v.011

Loading screen for Soviet Edition graphical & sound sub mod

While working on tech tree, I found that default loading screen for our mod was kind of not fitting in my vision of cold war, so I made some changes in a free time. And 'cause I always favored USSR(yeah, I'm evil :p ) I've decided to create Soviet dedicated sub-mod, that will change in-game GUI and music.

Name: Cold War Soviet Edition sub-mod
Goal: Complete GUI & music overhaul
Progress:
  • Loading screen - done
  • Main menu - done
  • Scenario menu - done
  • Multiplayer menu - in progress
  • Credits - done
  • In game GUI - In progress
  • Music - done
Current version: 0.1.1

Hmm, a separate GUI for Soviets may be a good idea, but then, for the sake of equality, I'd propose at least a specialized GUI for United States.
You know - statue of liberty, capitol hill, M1 Abrams, word "freedom" written all over the place, that kind of stuff :)

And then it would be cool to have separate launching files for each mod so not to enable/disable specialized themes every time.
As for the music, I believe there is a way to make country-specific music without separation, I don't remember how

Well, I've started this sub-mod with aim that someone will create US sub-mod eventually, because I don't have time to complete current sub-mod, let alone starting new one.

It's not so hard to make some sort of switching utility for gfx/gui/music. Afterall it's just the matter of copying files.

Yeah, and there is one already. But it would be much cooler if you didn't have to switch - just run separate files. And oh yeah just as I'm typing it I thought of ".bat" files, we could implement those. Yeah, I'll do that once we get separate GUIs running.

Well, there's only one thing I have to say - you're doing great job! I can swear that many players will be grateful to you.

As far as I understood your mod is already playable ?

Well, i'm not Foxbat but i can answer your question, this mod is playable during one year, the first one.

Our next objective is to make it playable until 1960.
