ROMANIA IMPROVEMENT PROJECT - R.I.P(funny name, huh?)
(project moved, see notes)

For HOI2 DD. (should work for Armageddon)

Romanian Music Pack released! V1.03 released! Flag pack released! Province name fix v2 including names in other languages released!

V. 1.03 contains the following:

- Late September '36 assassination attempt on Carol II. 4 choices:
1. It fails, and no one notices - 60%
2. It succeeds and the Iron Guard seizes power - 15%
3. It succeeds, but the perpetrators are caught. Nicolae I assumes power - 15%
4. The Orthodox Church steppes in - 10%

- Option one choice gives a generally historical game. Whether or not Călinescu is assassinated determines if Romania joins the Axis or Allies.

- Option two guarantees that Germany will side with Romania and vice-versa.

- Option tree gives an Allied oriented game.

- Option four will form a government that is headed by the Patriarch. It is succeeded by a presidential republic.

- Soviets can refuse claim on Bessarabia to gain support for a revolution. (in certain cases)

- More detailed events. (currently mostly for the historical option)

- New unit names.

- All tech teams now realistically end in 1970. (doctrine and rocketry)

- Constantin Ghiulai techteam.

- TACAM and Mareşal projects.

- Claim Transnistria, Tisa, Banat.

- Coanda returns and founds Coanda Engineering event in case of announced aggressiveness towards Germany.

- 2 Download links now available.

Later versions will include more flavor events, more names for divisions, post-Barbarossa RO-HU war, cleaner minister file.

Known bugs: - Minister file need some cleaning up.

Thanks to:
- the mod33 mod for some of the historical events.

- Kibbles for an event parsing program.

Feed back would be welcomed.

Oops forgot linky:
R.I.P 1.03
R.I.P 1.03 - Mirror 2
Music Pack
Optional flag pack - Commy and Iron Guard
Province name fix v2 - also contains backup file

Important sh*t:
- I have moved the project to the Über Balkan Mod. New content will be added there. If there are any standalone changes that I can make based on the ÜBM, I may update the RIP then.
- I am partially retired from modding

The Iron Guard (Legion of the Archangel Michael) takes over in option B, but sliders don't move. (in this version - it will be integrated in the next). They will also take over after Călinescu's assassination in the historical option, but be ousted less than an year later.

Thanks, I'll take a look :)

Crush3r, I'm interested in incorporating pieces of this mod into SMEP as it progresses. The Romanian minister file upsets me. Three Antonescu chiefs of staff

SMEP tried to improve Romania a bit (an event for Antonescu seizing power, etc), but I'm sure you, as an apparent native Romanian, can do a much better job.

Ok, but this mod is still in it's infancy, I have to clean up the files, and add more flavor events before the mod is up to standard. Version 1.01 would be good for the job when it is released. Good thing you noticed the Antonescu thing, I missed that.

Also, does SMEP have any other forums, beside a section in the paradox forums?

EDIT: I see SMEP has a Romanian-Hungarian post-Soviet War. I would like to integrate that into this mod. As I learnt from a war veteran, the plans for such a war had been drawn up in '41.

So the Antonescu-Sima agreement will be implemented?

It is practically, but I need to develop the events and their descriptions.

No, not really necessary, since I do nearly all of the event coding myself.

Feel free to borrow from SMEP with appropriate credit, and I would love to do the same. I think we can both benefit from cooperation.

Well, it looks like we'll be cooperating.

Well you can suggest some flavor events (science breakthroughs, sports events) relating to Romania in that period and ministers (especially less extreme commies).

I haven´t tested your mod yet so I may propose something already implemented.

Event : The TACAM Project

Early in the war the Romanian Army realized that the armoured vehicles at its disposal were not capable of tackling the medium and heavy tanks of the USSR, as Germany was unable to deliver suitable weapons it was decided to attempt to rebuild captured T-60 light tanks into Tankdestroyers armed with 76.2mm guns.
The project led to the production of the TACAM T-60 and was led by Colonel Constantin Ghiulai.

Creates an new Techteam, Constantin Ghiulai Skill 7 (high skill due to failed attempts by the Soviets to do the same and later work on the Maresal that was the inspiration for the Hetzer)

Great idea! This could also work if Romania joined the Russians, as T-60s would be readily available. Loads of pics to choose from in the worldwar2.ro site too.

Have you included the German offers of Ruthenia and Yugoslav Banat by the Germans?

No, no new leaders as of yet. That is lower on my list of things to do.

Except for techteams, eventpics, ministers, which I can get myself, not. I don't plan to include icon and sprite modifications. This would be up to the player, and I'đ recommend SKIF in this case.

Although a Socialist Romania Skin may have a place in the mod.
