Rulers of Scandinavia should be Yngling, not Ynling, but no big deal. But having Christiania as capital of Norway? Oslo was only named that from the 1600s to the early 1900s.:)

You might want to remove that line about Portugise considering the idea of round Earth new. It's a myth that educated people in middle ages thought that Earth was flat. In fact the circumference of Earth was known since the days of ancient Greece. The reason nobody sailed to the West was because they didn't think there was anything there interesting and valuable, except thousands of miles of open ocean untill you hit Khatay (China). The reason Columbus sailed was because he managed to persuade his backers that China was a LOT closer to Spain than was thought at the time.

True, the idea of the spherical world was known amongst scholars, but the idea wasn't re-popularized until Maximus Planudes translated of Ptolemy's Geographia in the late 13th century, and filtered out from scholarly circles. Scholars knowing something isn't the same as the nobility knowing something, for example. The end point is in 1399, so I ran with the idea of the nobility in Lusitania being on the cutting edge of something that scholars had known for a while.

4th Dimension - Part of my reason for including that blurb also is to hint that Lusitania is one of the few post-imperial Roman states that will have Quest for the New World as one of their first national ideas. This is, of course, if they survive long enough...

Nikolai - I could pull the alternate history catchall of saying that there was a town called Christiana founded early in this timeline, but to be honest I don't know what the capital of Norway would've been in this timeline. I know early on it was present-day Trondheim, but to be honest I know it switched in game and I lost track of where it went...

wolfcity - I'm actually thinking Faraud should be left as it is in vanilla. Keeping Timur's empire together should be a ridiculous challenge, something a player should aspire to. It'd be fun as someone else to watch the whole thing go to the dogs as well.

RedRoman - I could easily see a more Muslim northern India, putting the religious divide in much more stark terms... all potentially interesting once the Age of Nationalism arrives...

BraidsMAmma - That's the goal!

RGB - No, the Mar Catholicos has been in Samarkand since the days of Altani Khatun... so about, oh, 150 years now? Samarkand has effectively become the center of the Oriental Church.

Taiisatai64 - No worries--the map is wonderful!

Ye gods how could I have missed this glorious epic. I am going to return to page 1 and sit here reading until I reach this comment again.

You will not regret it! It is amazing!

Quick questiopn on naming.

So I'm coming up with a character who's got a vaguely latinsque name that translates to Meatthrob or some other porny last name. Something that's declaritive. since I know nothing about Byzantine naming, I decided to ask here for help.

Ideas? Also if you know a generator I'd be very thankful.

I-I'm sorry. Meatthrob? What?

Cool, ain't it?:D

So many cool thing about Rome AARisen...
Wish this masterpiece could reach an even greater audience..

And General, plese just tell us you are alive.
We understand that real life (and playing CK2) has priotity but please just come by and say hi to your fans now and then =)

I'm still poking around. :)

CK2 stole a bit of time, then a new job, then my real life writing projects. My hope is sometime to get the last few areas done. I have parts of the remaining areas finished, not all though. I'll get to them as soon as I can, I promise. :)
