just occured to me -- we could use the chinese warlords, as well as manchukou and mengukou (since they aare unused) as new nations, seeing as all the other tags are used up

maybe some socialist alternates for France, UK, USA, etc?
 
Ok i have updated the boostertext list to include Northern Ireland (just in case), Surinam (with claims in Guyana and French Guyana), Timor (with claims in west timor) and Macedonia.

And no, i'don't see the point in wasting a valuable tag making a socialist alternate when it can be solved with a "communist" under the country name.

Unless you are going to set up a civil war between socialist and non-socialist France, which might be a good but very ahistorical idea, otherwise tags should not be wasted on that.

Of course, furthermore there are much more interesting countries to create.
 
Your list has Nationalist Vietnam twice, both VIE and U65. Also, in case USSR breaks up, you should add Moldova. Also, you can replace the Arab Federation (ARA) with United Arab Republic. Might be somewhat complex to mod, yet it would provide some extra realism. Of course, it should appear only if historical conditions are met for it and the republict might not collapse if the historic conditions for this are not.

About United Arab Republic.... it can be done but perhaps it would be too messy, i don't know. However i will change the ARA tag for UAR (united arab rep.)

but of course the players aren't going to want to go historical? playing as USSR, wouldn;t you want to liberate a commie usa, or a commie france? I mean, even if it's at the back burner, could be something to do eventually

Well then it would be enough with a "Communist" under the country's name.
It would be nice the flag_change command that victoria has but..... everybody knows that it is not possible.

yeah, that's one of my favorite features in vicky... shame it's not in this too
 
Would you people approve the inclusion of more off country nations like the COMECON?

Also... i have been thinking about breaking a little bit the rule of not adding Communist alternate states and adding a tag for the Cambodian communists to represent the Khmer Rouge and another one for Laos representing the Path Lao (Laosian commies)

The flags would be:

For the Khmer Rouge:
kh-1979.gif

The non commies of Cambodia would use the actual in-game flag.

The path Lao flag would be: (the actual in game flag for Laos)

while for the other faction (the non communists) would have this flag:
la_1952.gif
Which would be the starting flag for Laos.

What do you think?

Edit: Forget about this, it's better to keep those countries in one tag.

Edit2: As you can see i had to change cambodia for CAM tag and Cameroon for CMB because i made an error, but it should not cause any problem.

I have updated the list, check the first post, the U82 tag is going to be used for events like the Hungarian revolt.

1) Will Vichy France tag be used?

2) Same question for Italian Social Republic - if there is no plan for its use, I recommend that it be used for a Communist 'North Italy' state. There is a nice depiction of what would happen if the Communist Party took control of North Italy in this document:

Yes, Vichy France is going to be Commie France, and RSI commie Italy, the only problem is that i can't find a "realistic" flag for those states.

I don't want the typical commie flag full of red stars and hammers & sickles because it's too ostentatious, i would like a more realistic statal flag, like the commie Austria one (simply the red & white austrian stripes)

Oh and BTW, i would not call them simpyl "Communist France" or "Communist Italy", i would call them "Democratic French Republic" or "Democratic Italian Republic"

There is/was a member here with a Red flag with a yellow Fleur de Lis on it, and I think it had a star in the upper corner too. Just something to think about.
Also in the event of a pan-Latin American federation/union, why not have a Right/Left version of either? Some flags on this site: http://www.lafalange.es/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=69 Most incorporate the flag of the old Spanish Empire (jagged looking red X).
The communist version could have an acronym in spanish language (easy enough to come up with) and maybe an old bayonet under a star or something. Very Che-like I think.

Yes but i doubt that the French communists would use a symbol from the old French Monarchy

First a Pan-American federation is a very unrealistical idea outside the mod's timespan because the different American countries were very consolidated in their identity it would be like trying to resurrect the A-H empire in the 60s, totally unrealistic.

Second, the link you posted is from a Spanish Fascist party and will not click it.

I think I would prefer "People's Republic of France" and "People's Republic of Italy". The names just seem better-sounding to me.
