But I need to know, is it possible to give submarine ability to attack shore provinces via attached brigades, if yes, can it be used to attack non-coastal provinces?

Yes it is possible to give a submarine the ability to attack shore provinces, via brigades but they can't attack non shore provinces, as far as i know.

Foxbat said:
And another one, how many naval brigades there is?

I made a list of the naval brigades and divisions with their Cold War Equivalent (or ,at least, planned equivalent), here you have:
Code:
       Naval
--Vanilla          --Cold War
-Battleships --> ???? (we would need one model to represent ships like the HMS Vanguard but nothing more)
-Light Cruiser --> Frigates
-Heavy Cruisers --> ?????
-Battlecruisers --> ?????
-Destroyers --> Destroyers
-Carrier --> Carrier
-Escort Carrier --> Helicopter Carrier
-Submarine --> ????
-Nuclear Sub. --> Nuclear Sub.
    Nav. Brigades
-ASW --> Naval Helicopters (only available to the helicopter Carrieror normal carrier)
-AA --> Recon Helicopters (Available to frigates and Destroyers)
-Fire Control --> I don't know how to name them but missile systems like the tomahawk.
-Improved Hull --> ?????
-Torpedoes --> ????
-Capital AA --> ????
-Radar --> ?????? (unchanged perhaps)

Just have in mind that there are two models of submarines, the normal one (28) and the nuclear (29)

Perhaps you could do the background similar to the one Foxbat posted in order to have a good sense of what's what.

I would do it if there weren't two problems:

1- It is highly recommendable to finish the tech tree first because you can mess.
2- (The most important one) I don't know how to do it. GFX is not my "specialization"

:( Too bad.

I'll do that when we will complete techs, mkay?.

Thanks for the list, now to the main event( :D ):

Code:
CV: Multi-purpose Aircraft Carrier
CVN: Multi-purpose Aircraft Carrier (Nuclear-Propulsion)
CG: Guided Missile Cruiser
CGN: Guided Missile Cruiser (Nuclear-Propulsion)
DD: Destroyer
FFG: Guided Missile Frigate
SS: Submarine
SSN: Attack Submarine (Nuclear-Powered)
SSBN: Ballistic Missile Submarine (Nuclear-Powered)
CVE: Escort aircraft carrier
CVS: Antisubmarine Aircraft Carrier
CVL: Light aircraft carrier
LHA: Amphibious Assault Ship
Shipyard Development techs are required to control production of ships in the mod(Ethiopian carriers anyone? :rofl: ). They will be directly tied up with industrial techs. Only highly industrialised countries will be able to develope very large ships.
Small shipyards allow production of Frigates.
Medium shipyards allow production of Destroyers, Light Cruisers, Diesel Submarines and all amphibious warfare ships(except for LHA)
Large Shipyards allow production of Heavy Cruisers, Guided missile cruisers(nuclear and conventional), Nuclear submarines, CVE, CVS, CVL and LHA.
Super Large Shipyards allow production of CV, CVN, Battleships and Battlecruisers.

60's, 70's, 80's, 90's and Future Destroyer, 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's and Future CG and 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's and Future CGN techs require rocketry techs. 80's, 90's and Future Destroyer techs give blueprints for coresponding CG techs(this is done to show that modern cruiser are done on destroyers hulls). 70's, 80's, 90's and Future Frigate techs require rocketry techs. Each Frigate tech give bonus to convoy escort efficiency.

Though we don't know if we will be able to simulate SSBN properly, I included them, because they were important ships for both NATO and W.P. fleets.

Conventional carriers represent Kitty-Hawk type carriers(ie large carriers not propelled by nuclear reactors).

Converted Cargo Ship, Attack Transport, Amphibious Transport Dock are just normal weaponless transports.
Attack Cargo Ship and Landing Ship on the other hand have the ability to provide fire support for advancing troops(shore bombardment). The last but not least are LHA ships, ultimate invasion machines.

CVS are helicopter/VTOL carrying ships(usually deployed for ASW) while CVL are small carriers that deploy small amount of planes(russian Kuznetsov and e.t.c.).

Now we are closing to the fun part. WW2 Battleship and Nuclear Battleship are there to represent Iova class battleships and e.t.c. Info on Arsenal ship you can find here: Wikipedia.

Battlecruiser techs are required to represent soviet Stalingrad and Kirov heavy cruiser/battlecruiser development.

EDIT: Forgot about nuclear techs, naturally they allow all sorts of nuclear vessels to be researched.

^If we search in the dictionary the word "cool", a photo of that should be included. :D

Thanks but it would be better another thing: Could it be possible to make "transparent" or at least reduce the size of tech buttons? (IE, you only see the tech text, click over it and you select it) it would be very useful, specialy when we have to handle with a huge amount of techs.

Just a quick reply Foxbat there's no need to combine any model, the game can support models past the 9th model, just typing 11 instead of 10, how do you think that i made the marines?

Awe-Some!! :D
Want me to edit list or you'll improvise?
I'm starting air techs.

Air technology

..And it's done.

Air techs:
4klbc50.jpg

Let's start.

Aviation Industry tech serve same purpose as Naval Shipyard techs. They restrict production of air units only to industrially developed nations. All Aviation Industry techs require specific Industrial techs to be developed.
WW2 Era Aviation Industry -> WW2 Fighter generations, WW2/PostWW2 Strategic/Medium/Naval bombers, WW2 CAS, PostWW2 Helicopter, WW2 Transport.
50's Industry -> 1st Jet Fighter generation, 50's Strategic/Medium/Naval bombers, 50's CAS/Tanker/Transport/AWACS/Helicopter
60's Industry -> 2nd Jet Fighter generation, 60's Strategic/Supersonic/Medium/Naval bombers, 60's CAS/Tanker/Transport/AWACS/Helicopter/Attack Helicopter
70's Industry -> 3rd Jet Fighter generation, 70's Supersonic/Medium/Naval bombers, 70's CAS/Transport/AWACS/Multi-Purpose Helicopter/Attack Helicopter
80's Industry -> 4th Jet Fighter generation, 80's Supersonic/Medium/Naval bombers, 80's CAS/Tanker/AWACS/Multi-Purpose Helicopter/Attack Helicopter, Stealth Ground Attack
90's Industry -> 4.5 Jet Fighter generation, 90's Supersonic/Medium/Naval bombers, 90's CAS/AWACS/Multi-Purpose Helicopter/Attack Helicopter, Multi-Purpose Heavy Stealth Bomber
Future Industry -> 5 Jet Fighter generation, Future Supersonic/Medium/Naval bombers, Future CAS/AWACS/Multi-Purpose Helicopter/Attack Helicopter

All fighter techs are divided into generations(you can read about them here)
Fighter-bombers/Multirole fighter techs represent development of aircrafts able to effectively engage ground targets and to some degree air targets(4/4.5/5 generation multirole fighters are almost as effective dog-fighters as air-superiority fighter are).

Interceptor techs represent development of aircrafts like Mig-25 Foxbat/MiG 31 Foxhound and so on. Their main tasks were heavy bomber interception before they will be able launch nuclear bombs/cruise missiles. Thus interceptors have great speeds. Also, each interceptor tech, allows production of recon aircraft. Theese aircrafts almost weaponless platforms, able to fly at high speeds at very high altitudes(note that 3rd and 4th generation recon aircrafts can carry single nuclear bomb, this is done to simulate SR-71 Blackbird and MiG-25RB).

Last fighter tech is Air-Superiority Fighter techs, that allow production of fighters built to gain and maintain air-superiority(F-15/F-22 and their ancestors). Newer generations(4.5/5) should have some ground striking ability.

Note that 5th generation Multirole and Air-Superiority fighter techs require Stealth theory tech to be researched. Stealth theory can be researched only when80's Electronics(Industry tech tab) tech are researched.
Stealth-Ground Attack Aircraft(F-117) require 4th generation multirole fighter tech, 80's Aviation Industry and Stealth theory to be developed. These aircrafts can engage only ground targets and infrastructure.
Multi-Role Stealth Bomber(B-2) require 60's Strategic Bomber, 90's Aviation Industry and Stealth theory to be developed.

WW2-60's Heavy Bomber development techs represent Heavy Strategic Bombers(B29/B36/B45/B47/B52 and their equals). 60's-90's and Future Super-Sonic Bomber techs represent development of high-speed strategic bombers(Tu-22/Tu-22M/Tu-160/B-1B and e.t.c.). 60's SS Strategic Bomber tech require coresponding doctrine. 80's/90's/Future SS Bomber techs allow production of airborne launched cruise missiles(those brigades can be attached to any strategic bomber, even 50's Heavy bomber), that's why they require coresponding rocketry tech.

CAS Development techs allow production of CAS airgroups, dedicated to close-support(Il-2/Il-10/A-10/Su/25 and e.t.c.). 80's/90's/Future CAS techs require rocketry techs to simulate usage of AT and tactical missiles(Hellfire and Maverick, and their equivalents).

Medium/Tactical bomber techs allow production of mid-sized bombers(Il-28/F-111/Su-25). 70's-Future Med. Bomber techs allows production of laser/JDAM weaponry attchement(those can be added to medium bombers and Stealth-Ground Attack Aircraft).

Naval Bomber techs are quite obvious, only feature that should be noted, is that 60's-Future Naval Bomber techs allow production of ASW/Anti Ship missiles attachement.

Helicopter development techs are very important ones, because they allow further researches, that allow production of CAG/Transport helicopter/Attack helicopter/ASW helicopter/CVL air group/CVS air group brigades.

PostWW2 Helicopter tech allows:
Production: PostWW2 Transport Helicopter brigade
Research: 50's Helicopter, (to be updated)

50's Helicopter
Production: 50's Transport Helicopter brigade
Research: 60's Helicopter, 50's-60's CVL/CVS

60's Helicopter
Production: 60's Transport Helicopter brigade
Research: 60's Attack Helicopter, 70's Multi-Purpose Helicopter, 60's CV/CVN, 60's DD, 60's FF

70's Multi-Purpose Helicopter
Production: 70's Transport Helicopter brigade
Research: 80's Multi-Purpose Helicopter, 70's-80's CV, 70's CVN, 70's-80's CVL/CVS, 70's LHA, 70's DD, 70's FF

80's Multi-Purpose Helicopter
Production: 80's Transport Helicopter brigade
Research: 90's Multi-Purpose Helicopter, 80's CVN, 80's Heavy CGN, 80's LHA, 80's DD, 80's FF

90's Multi-Purpose Helicopter
Production: 90's Transport Helicopter brigade
Research: Future Multi-Purpose Helicopter, 90's CVN, 90's CVL/CVS, 90's LHA, 90's DD, 90's FF, 90's Heavy CGN

Future Multi-Purpose Helicopter
Production: Future Transport Helicopter brigade
Research: Future CV/CVN, Future CVL/CVS, Future LHA, Future DD, Future FF, Future Heavy CGN

Attack Helicopter techs allow production of coresponding Attack Helicopter Brigades. 80's - Future Attack Helicopter techs require rocketry research to simulate usage of AT missiles(Hellfire, Vikhr and e.t.c.)

Transport Aircraft Development tech allow production of Air Transport squadrons. Also 50's, 60's, 70's Transport tech give blueprints for coresponding air refueling techs(this represents the fact, that most air tankers are based on transport/civilian aircrafts).

Air Refueling techs increase max range of fighters, CAG and bombers(not CAS). But also increases cost and supply/fuel consumption of fighters and bombers(it's simulates need to maintain fleet of tankers). Air Refueling Theory requires coresponding air doctrine to be developed.

AWACS techs increase detection abilities of fighters, CAG and CAS squadrons, also increasing squadron cost and supply/fuel consumption(this is done to simulate fleet of AWACS aircrafts).

Ok thanks foxbat really cool tree.
Now that we have enough work to do instead of making the industry tech schematic, why do not reduce the size of the tech buttons? in the infantry tree there is no space available below the airborne divisions.

I' ve tested transparent buttons. Here's the screen:

5x6s9c7.jpg

The problem is, that when you make button transparent, you just can't select it. At least some pixels should be non-transparent if you want that button to work.

^Ok, make them narrower and send the file to me via PM ok?
