Eastern English Channel.
Grand Admiral Marshall finally gets to close with the U.S. transport fleet.
One transport is sunk and several damaged. The French cruisers escorting the transports ensure it is not a one sided battle.
0800 July 8th 1944.
Diplomatic Office. Reichstag, Berlin.
Von Ribbentrop had known it may be a mistake to allow the Finns the freedom to defend themselves. The report from Field Marshall Dietl in Tornio although unwelcome was not totally unexpected.
With luck they could hold on for a while longer. Nothing could be spared to help them now.

VII. Armeekorps Headquarters. Troyes, France.
With Model's VII. Armeekorps shortly arriving in Paris he orders further assaults on Allied positions to secure his own.
General Hausser's II. SS-Panzerkorps are ordered to attack Orleans supported by General Fromm's 19. Armee. This attack would be successful and Eisenhower would take another backward step.
With the failed attempt on a direct assault on Lille Model orders an assault to isolate it instead. This assault is led by OKH, commanded by General Wunnenburg, supported by both General Halder and General von Pfeffer-Wildenbruch and would also be successful ... initially.

XIII. Armeekorps Headquarters. Przemyls, Poland.
The arrival of Timoshenko and the leads elements of his Army in Stryj requires a response.
General von Salmuth supplies this response, forcing Timoshenko back. No pursuit is ordered.

Do you have 16 allied divisions in Dieppe??Scary....
Btw 2 days ago there was 8 divisions in Armiens, where are they now? Dieppe... or hiding in the shadows.....

I don't believe I missed the last few updates! Well, from the way the Allies are going, the Western Front might not even exist in a few days......just goes to show that without Hitler's constant meddling in the military affairs and had he let his generals do their jobs, the whole situation would have become alot tougher for the Allies and the Soviets......
Anyway, hopefully you can push them back to the coast. Also, any chance of evacuating those Mountaineer divisions from Finland? They could prove useful.......
Also, perhaps granting Norway independence and triggering an event could prevent the Bolsheviks from entering......it is a shame when Norway keeps on going red......
Ksim3000 - While it looks like I am winning easily on the Western Front it is far from overThe Mountaineers will be saved if/when Finland capitulates if I still can. I never grant independance to anyone as Germany, besides I don't think the Soviets are going to wade through the mountains in northern Norway anytime soon.

0900 July 9th 1944.
VII. Armeekorps Headquarters. Paris, France.
Model receives some new reports from his Front.
Air General Milch, leading the current rotation of interceptors, intercepts and destroys a U.S. bomber trying to conduct ground attacks in Ghent.
American General Devers assaults the weakened forces of General von Pfeffer-Wildenbruch in Calais. This would not only result in the loss of Calais but also the loss of Dunkerque as von Pfeffer-Wildenbruch is further forced to withdraw to Ghent.
These fresh Allied divisions could only have arrived in Dieppe by sea. Donitz may be intercepting these transport fleets but he clearly wasn't stopping them.
Model is left with little choice but to order the mobilization of the under strength OKW reserve in Essen to shore up the creaking Belgian sector of his line. OKW, led by General Steiner, head for Mons.
0500 July 10th 1944.
VII. Armeekorps Headquarters. Paris, France.
General Hausser arrives in Orleans to strengthen Model's grip on Paris.
Allied reinforcements were streaming towards Amien to prevent the cut off of Lille. They would succeed in arriving in time and OKH calls off its attack.
0600 July 14th 1944.
II. SS-Panzerkorps Headquarters. Orleans, France.
Eisenhower launches his own counter offensive forcing General Hausser to withdraw from Orleans back to Auxerre. Model's position in Paris was beginning to look threatened once again.
Elsewhere on the Western Front things were looking slightly better.
OKW had arrived in Mons without incident.
The Allied armour forcing its way along the coast was destroyed by ground attack bombers in Dunkerque to relieve further pressure on the Belgian front line.

Your counterattack is looking good at the moment. I guess it would be too rash to attempt an immediate drive to Caen in order to cut the Allies in two...but will you attempt that if conditions are right?

Well, it seems from the problem is that the Allies can keep shipping on in extra fresh reinforcements, as has been proven with Calais. I am surprised that you could not hold Calais with the sea fortifications....but alas, the fight does indeed look tough.
Also, I am dissapointed in the U-Boats performance. Let us hope they can become a bane to the Allies transports without losing one of their own to do so.
