That is really strange. When I click the links, the archive contains four files. Maybe your browser is being "smart" and thinks it downloaded the file already, and thus is using a version that is somewhere on your computer. You can try clearing the temporary internet files.

i deleted everything, cleared my download history and folder and then downloaded it from the mirror. now it's a 365k file.

If i play it with VIP i need to put the liberalrevolution.txt file in so i think im going to use this on a clean copy of just Ricky and the hotfix.

No, merely "the system cannot find the file specified".

EDIT: And I have the latest .NET, I believe.

Are you sure rickrand.exe is in the same directory as rickrand GUI.exe?

Here's a workaround: Save your configuration using the GUI. Then open a command prompt and cd to the directory where your Victoria installation is located. Type:

Code:
rickrand.exe filename.rrc

where filename is the name you gave your configuration save. Rickrand.exe will now use the configuration stored in the rrc file specified.

Hmm, strange. Doesn't VIP have a liberalrevolution.txt file? Anyway, to use Rickrand without the liberalrevolution.txt file, you can select in the GUI, the version menu, the version without OHGamer's Hotfix.

That was incredibly odd. When I saved the settings to the same folder as the GUI and .exe, it worked without crashing. I changed nothing except that.

Hmm. Interesting. So for the record: when exactly does it crash, and when does it not crash? (I.e. what do I have to do to reproduce the crash?)

All that would make it crash was changing seemingly unrelated options, not including the name of the scenario, and clicking generate. However, if you save the settings before generating in the same folder as the GUI or EXE, it wouldn't crash.

OK, I think I fixed the bug now. Can you try it?

Did a clean install without Vip and not a issue in sight.

Well this game is a blast. takes a bit of time in a new scenario to figure out what nation i want to play.

One thing i noticed on two different loads is that there are some vital factories missing at the start.. Last two there are no machine parts factories and no clothes factories. So i have to wait untill i get techs which give me machine parts , make a factory in a province that i have a current factory in , make enough machine parts and then close it, make a clothes factory so i can have enough clothes to promote pops to fill my other factories. I guess I could just up the factory lvl when i generate a map.

maybe i just got a fun quicky game, hence the random part. But i am enjoying this generator immensely.

Sometimes indeed the machine parts are missing (not so often though). It's hard to balance it correctly when you're dealing with randomness. The lack of clothes is indeed also annoying.

Anyway, I'm glad you're enjoying it.

is there any way to add some to the WM or give some to myself?

You can edit the save file. Open the save file, and search for "tag = TAG" where TAG is the tag of your country. Keep searching until you find one where the save file says something like
Code:
country = {
        tag = TAG
        (...)
That's your country. Scroll down to find the section where it names your resources, and edit it as you wish.

To add to the world market, you have to find that section, it's more to the top of the save file. I can't check right now, but I think the section opens with "world_market = {" so you can search for that.

I'm playing as Inore, Ishnore, crap i can't remember. is there a tag list for indian minors?

Do you mean Indore? I think it's IND. If I'm right, it says somewhere at the very beginning: "IND = { ".

OK , thanks. it's cheating but it's driving me nuts that nobody can promote pops in the world.

I understand. I will do some more balancing when I make a new version.

Just played it for the first time, and great randomness :D! Nothing beats Sunni, african and japanese CSA in Mexico.

Haha! Yes, that's how I like my randomness :).

That did the trick. Thank you! I am highly appreciative of your work so far. Besides a few tweaks and a couple options(Which continent is uninhabited, for example) left to add, I think you have a very professional mod that is simply not heralded enough. :)

I was actually terrified. Last game had Mexicans living in Mexico - also in Central America and Texas, though. I only calmed down when I was relieved to find Mexico the Nation in Croatia.

Good to see you're having fun. And thank you for your kind words.

A friend and I like to play your game, espescially multiplayer. But we did not see any immigration in our game, is it possible? Do you have some advice to get immigration?

Yes, we read the 1001# immigration thread.

There was a guy a page back who reported something about immigration as well. He concludes that it has nothing to do with my mod. However of course, the entire immigration scheme was probably tested with the vanilla scenario, so pops behaving weirdly here wouldn't surprise me.

Anyway. The following helps for getting immigration:
1.) Have your capital in the Americas
2.) Be the USA (USA tag gets extra immigration)
3.) Be a democracy! (quite important)
4.) Have a Liberal or Socialist party in power
5.) Have social reforms
6.) Don't have debts! (very important)
7.) Don't be at war. Other countries should be at war as much as possible

That's all I can think of right now.

Apologies if this has already been addressed, but my game (Victoria R with hotfix 6) is crashing when I try and select an individual province or look at the factories in a region. I can select other nations, and I can select regions. The rest of the game seems fine.
