A Silent AAR - HAARva NAARgila: The Picture Scroll of the Khazars

    *

    AARthor's Foreward:
Had a fun game with Khazaria and just wanted to share. Format's the same as my Welsh silent AAR, although it will largely be divided by reigns. For (much ) better treatment of similar material, see Gen. Dayan's A Light unto the Nations: A Khaganate of Khazaria AAR, and Phargle's Solomon of Itil.

    Disclaimer:
For some reason, once I hit 1157, every time I load my savegame, it crashes within a month or two. There's a thread here if you have any ideas what it might be other than a dynasties.txt problem. If I can't get it fixed, we'll just say that a meteor struck the earth and wiped out all human life and just go on with our own. [Fixed.]

    Setup:
    Scenario: 1066 Post-Hastings
    Difficulty: Very Hard
    Aggression: Normal
Mods: BOPACK, SMACK, Devine Shadow's Pagan/Muslim mod + Scenario Files, Gen. Dayan's Khazarian Minimod, Drachenfire's Welsh mod, some graphics stuff
    Other stuff: 1.05 + IP2
    Start country: Khazaria

Yes... Is this from photo-editing software? Like, perhaps, filling in the blank map and then resizing it to fit inside the hodge-podge of interfaces, etc.?...

If there's a way to zoom out that much you need to tell us!1!11

I think that he took several screenshots, merged them together and then resized - it can be easily done.

The nice thing about being Khazaria is you can annex everything, though that is gamey.

This is a good AAR. Nice and easy to follow for a non-CK player like myself.

    @ThrashtheStampede: I'll see what I can do.
@Cracked: Oy, you don't know from chutzpah. It's me versus every goy on earth.
@ReGerbilizedBorsht: I clicked on the button that says zoom out. Ever since I got that new graphics card from some Chinese guy in red paint and horns, everything works great.
@Evil: Nah, he's got Irit. Considering he's chaste and she still managed to get eight kids out of him, must've been some vixen. Or as fertile as the Chernozem. Or both.

It's like SimCity. Once you set up your own little kingdom, for no apparent reason, people flock to you.
@Vasili & Nick: See, like that.
@Jimbo: If you can start with a one-province minor between Cumania and the Seljuks, who's a religious enemy to everyone and who's priests keep demanding that you set yourself up as a Crusade target by rebuilding some temple that hasn't even been around for a thousand years, then you can gimme this gamey crud.

Matter of fact, if anything, the religious aspect is horrible. Cf., e.g., Inbreeding and the inability to ever DOW someone you can't take all the way down, while they play "hide-the-demesne" in their vassals' courts. My Welsh game, eg, I took over Germany through a strike at two castles in the Alps before the Saxons had even made it onto their boats.

That said, of course it'll prolly end up as a WC, since I'm not sure I can play EU3 as a Jewish state anyway.
@Duke: Well, if you like HAARva NAARgila, you'll love:
    EDIT: Another oldie but goodie:

If you have the time of course you could mod in Judaism as a possible state religion.

Just going to check out the Aberffraw one now. I remember the Jerusalem AAR well. It was very good. I recognised the title of this AAR because of that, without it I most likely wouldn't have found this one.

You're right. Go for broke- it will at least keep the priests occupied and encourage them to warm up their crusading zeal on someone else, for now anyway.

Great graphics - really perfect and refined. But this must be tough game. You can create own religion in EU3 quite easily, would be great to continue such project.

    Watch out for ... everyone
