Indeed. it will all be lederhösen from now on.

Alright , update. I'm just gonna lay it on really thick how evil the Nazi's really are:

---------
In the mean time on the other side of the world Germany was preparing for war too. Hitler sought to become a world power yet again. Nationalism got another view thanks to him and he alone is the brain behind everything that will happen next. That thought alone gave him great confidence in his actions, so much that he did everything spontaneous and direct.

Hitler had a dream, a dream of a Nation that will be so pure, so excellent it will be the pride of the world. Pure blood aryan people, blond hair, blue eyes, working hard on their dream house in lederhose singing about their great nation.

But in order to achieve that dream Hitler had to make a few steps. First he reclaimed the lands taken by france after the humilaiting defeat of WWI, the rhineland.

Then Austria was annexed and assimilated again into the German land.
During all this Hitler increased his countries military strength and Industrial Output to the limits. He must show Nationalism like never before, everything that resembles the country from Bockwursten to the national anthemn must be shown to the great german people as much as possible. Large Military parades where Hitlers favorite, all that red and him in the spotlight just made him bloom.
Also, there must be no denial in the existance of the greatness that is known as germany, and people must know Germany is much more then it is now.

The first country to experience the meaning of this was Czechoslovakia and Germany demanded the Sudetenland on September 30th 1938. The germanic population of the Sudetenland greeted the Nazi's in their cities with great joy, finally the true German people where to be reunited after a long time. But there where still many Germans to be “freed” as Joseph Goebbels called it. All over the world there where true aryans, humans who know the way is National Socialism and that there is no better race.

At this moment however, Hitler saw that to reunite the people he must first destroy the enemies of the people, The social liberals and Communists. For this Germany needed allies, countries that had good potential of being added to the so called “Axis”. Italy was great candidate of course, Mussolini was a man of many words and would look good alongside Hitler on pictures and during Military Parades. Plus his army could be of great use, as his navy. Other candidates where Hungary, Spain, Japan, Romania and Bulgaria. These countries where ruled by Fascists: strong, determined and proud. They would make usefull allies. The population of these countries did not matter to Hitler, he would not annex any of them as long as they are allies, he would only need their signatures and resources.

A number of meetings took place in 1938 and 1938 between Hitler of Germany, Mussolini of Italy, Miklos Horthy of Hungary, King carol II of Romania, king Boris III of Bulgaria, Fransisco Franco of Spain and Emperor Hirohito of Japan. Hitler would all influence them into his axis in due time.
All these meeting where very formal, as Hitler didn't want to become “Buddies” with them, just use them for his own benefit. As did they.

On 15th march 1939 Germany demanded the annexation of Czechoslovakia and gave the Slovakian areas to Hungary. Czechoslovakia was no more and Hungary accepted a military alliance with Germany and the First of the axis emerged. The Hungarians could have never anticipated what they where getting themselves into though.

endofczechoslovakiaug5.jpg

On March 26th Italy declared war on Albania and annexed it pretty shortly afterwards. Mussolini wanted to be recognized by Hitler as a worthy ally and join with him to rule Europe and Africa together.

Poland entered a military alliance with england and the rest on march 30th... But no worries thought Hitler. Nobody can stop the axis.

A coup happened in romania on April 1st 1939, and as Carol II was killed and Ion Antonescu fled to germany a democratic government was installed. Hitler wanted Romania on its side when it attacked the allies but such an event now seemed impossible and talks with Hungary leaned towards an invasion of Romania.
---------

There, next will be the start of WWII.

update, many pics:

On the 5th of August 1939 Germany's pride naval vessel was finished. The battleship KMS Bismarck was let to water with big cheers of sailors and a proud Hitler. Admiral Raeder was put as the commanding officer of this magnificent ship.

On August 25th the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact was made. Hitlers Foreign minister was put in sharge to make good relations with the soviets, as Hitler didn't saw a war wtih them happening any time soon. Ribbentrop madei t so that Stalin would get to mess around with the eastern European countries like Lithuania and Finland and gets half of Poland. With the soviets agreeing Hitler was ready to strike.

On August 30th 1939 Hitler was ready with his army and Airforce and thus declared war on Poland and the allies. Hungary joined the war.

Submarines who left their ports a few days ago started attacking any commercial vessel or war ship that bore the english, polish, French, Australian or Canadian flag

polandinvasion.jpg

35 divisions of Germany attacked the moment the declaration war was given out. In the first few hours the Polish forces where surprised and gains where quick. The next day the forces in Bydgoszcz, Prognan, Cracow and Torun where retreating and German forces entered Poland. At Konigsberg however the Polish attacked the divisions of Germany there and defeated them. They retreated back towards Memel, where they where cut off from any supplies. This did not matter however as this small victory of Poland was nothing compared to the land they where loosing on the west side. Advances by September 10th reached deep into Poland. Warshaw was taken and soviet forces entered Poland and Poland gave in to Russian demands. Russia was given the east side of Poland. A last desperate army of Polish forces in Radom surrenderd on september 15th.
23 divisions at once. At 8 o'clock AM on September 16th Poland was Annexed.

7 hours later germany and Hungary declared war upon Denmark.

In the middle of the night hundreds of German troop crossed the Danish border near Kiel and engaged into combat with stationed Danish troops who didn't stand a chance.

After a stuggle of an hour near the border the Danish garrison surrendered as panzer divsions came in sight. The tanks rolled into Denmark and advanced quickly through the small danish land that was attached to germany. The flat countryside was ideal for the tanks to pass through.

A couple of miles next to that german forces crossed the baltic sea and landed on the island Sjalland near the city of Copenhagen. Upon sighting the german soldiers and armored vehicles the Royal family of Denmark raised the white flag atop the tallest building of Copenhagen and let the german forces enter without a single shot fired. Denmark capitulated on September 20th .

Hitlers plans went very well, even much faster then he anticipated and he gave all the german troops that where at Copenhagen when it surrendered a medal of extinguished military service, for bringing such fear into the Danish.
Now Hitler focussed westward, ignoring Norway for the time being.

I don't want to be too harsh here... but this AAR has nothing interesting in it. You've cheated a lot more than you think... bolstering German IC and money... and totally cheating with puppeting China when they still have a huge army... The only thing you've proved is that the axis can win when you cheat. Not only that.... but it's on the weakest settings possible (giving you a 40% ish IC increase right there).... and the AI is harshly punished in terms of IC and IQ.

Basically everyone can see where this is going (a world painted grey, yellow, and green) and it's boring.

But on the good side... your writing style is pretty good in terms of creating side stories... so you have potential in the future... guess everyone has to start somewhere ;)

well i don't mind some constructive criticism. But i have to disagree.

i defeated China without cheating, but i hated to actually conquer all the victory points in order to puppetize them(as i have done in many previous games), while my original plan was to play as Germany with a Japan that has China in his pocket. So i decided to go with the story you see now, instead of total conquest.

I choose to cheat my way into peace with the Nethelrands as i figured Japan AI would escalate the war once i start playing as Germany. I wanted a clean start(didn't work out as perfectly as i had hoped but you'll read that in the AAR).

I'm sure you are used to playing it on the hardest modes the game has to offer, but i haven't gotten as good as you yet, so there is really no point in saying the AI is harshly punished, because in my view its normal difficulty. I've only recently started playing in Normal/aggressive mode and i don't find the AI to be any better at all frankly.

Anyway, i promised some surprised will arrive soon, you just have to be patient, i'm afraid to admit the world won't be painted Grey/green/yellow in the next 10 years. But i don't want to spoil. i know it hasn't been as interesting as yuo might hoped and i was worrying about such a reactin before, thats why i started adding some colour to the AAR by talking about Hitlers thoughts and such, to fill up the boredom.

I started an AAR of this game i had because i found the course of events interesting, interesting enough to make an AAR out of it. Sure, its a lot more based on common fiction and alertnate history scenario's then the "totally from scratch" AAR's you see on this forum(people who totally edit the game to their standards and scenario's). But thats what i like more about the game, as i can create an actual AAR that is totally based on whats happening in the game i played, focussing on something standard like the Axis winning the war.

I appreciate the compliment about my writing style. I try to make as less typo's as possible and indeed try to colour it up with some extra's.

Its weird though, writing in this manner(about a played game i mean). I've heard of fanfiction before, did some myself. But never After Action Reports. Great fun.

Alright, fair enough... you've defended your position well.

People can obviously write about whatever they want in an AAR, so it's all up to you. I just wanted to throw it out there as a common reader that onlookers are more interested in original concepts and catchy ideas... as well as intelligent writers :D ... I guess I judged a little quickly so sorry if it came out wrong... the average consensus on cheating is that it ruins the game (and my view on it is probably more negative than that).

But it's your product and if there's really something awesome coming... I'll be sure to keep an eye on this one ;) .

P.S. The difference in the skill levels are huge... IIRC Very Easy gives you a 40% IC increase and equal decrease for AI... Easy is 20%, Normal none, Hard -20%, Very Hard -40%... something like that. I don't think the difference in AI aggressiveness is as big a deal though. (But I doubt putting the setting on 'coward' is going to give you a very exciting Dday  ).

Keep it rollin'!

Man, i'm just glad someone replied. It didn't fell wrong. I just felt i needed to explain myself.

Update:

--------
On October 16th 1939 the very first naval battle between Germany and the United Kingdom started. A large group of Submarine divisions that where attacking convoys in the north sea was attacked by a large carrier fleet of the Carrier HMS furious, 2 battleships, 10 destroyers and 5 Light Cruisers. The destroyers spotted the submarines and pursued them as they tried to escape since they where already at low ammunition and where just heading home. A total of 5 of the 7 submarine divisions where ultimately destroyed by these destroyers, the first one to be destroyed was by aircraft from the Furious. The last division a week after the destroyers spotted the subs emerging to get oxygen, in formation.

When the remaining 2 sub divisions returned to the harbor in Wilhelmshafen. Admiral Raeder was informed of this fleet that was detected and he ordered the readiness of the entire Kriegsmarine in order to intercept these ships. He ordered that all the major ships of the fleet must be merged into 1 assault fleet. This included Germany's only battleship the KMS Bismarck and its 2 best Heavy cruisers the Graf Spee and Deutschland. Germany did have 3 more battlecruisers at its disposal but these where just too outdated and where used for patrolling the northern ice sea.

The fleet with admiral Raeder himself leading it in the Bismarck left the port and amazingly spotted the enemy fleet the following day, appearantly the fleet was still searching for those subs.

When the enemy saw the KMS Bismarck heading their way the didn't think twice and made a run for it, to protect the CV HMS Furious.

The light cruisers and destroyers of that fleet stayed behind to block the Germans access to the Furious and opened fire.

The Bismarck and its company opened fire upon the cruisers who sustained heavy damage. Once a shot from the Graf spee blew up one of the cruisers(the HMS Calypso) and another hit from the Bismarck set the cruiser HMS Achilles on fire the entire fleet retreated. The german fleet however followed and managed to take down 4 more cruisers before retiring.

A succesfull run, even though they didn't get the HMS Furious. On Hitlers orders the german fleet was now to patrol the north sea. The fleet encountered many more ships throughout October and November and met with the Furious 3 times only to see it escape again protected by Cruisers. In november they destroyed another 3 english Cruisers and 3 French cruisers.

On October 23th 1939 Germany declared war on the Netherlands and entered its borders. The dutch fought bravely but in vain, the germans blitzkrieged their way to Amsterdam and Rotterdam and captured the 2 large cities on the 3rd of november. It was a soft winter so the fast push didn't affect the soldiers that much. The Dutch royal family fled to England and alligned itself with them.
--------

Next, the finnish winter war and the invasion France.

Nice naval warfare!

Hope the finns resist the Soviets well!

Sorry for the long dlay for evyrone who follows my AAR but i was on vacation for a week and forgot to mention it.

Big update here and now:

-----------
The next logical step for Hitler was Belgium and then France. But first there was news of the Soviets declaring war upon Finland. Hitler was very curious to see what the Red army would make of the finnish. The swedish helped Finland by sendng supplies. This angered Hiter as he wanted to see the Finnish fight the Red army with what they have, his top spies had given him detailed information about its strength and made assesments on how the red army would deal with it. With these new devolopments however his spies where useless and he could only find out how and what happened afer the war against finland was over and his spies told him what went on.

In any way there is no time to focus on the Soviets right now as there is enough trouble in the west. New transports have been made to invade Norway later on and Admiral Raeder is doing well holding off the english fleet from the coasts.

On December 18th Hitler declared war upon Belgium and an enormous amount of German troops entered the country from the north. Almost 20 Panzer divisions stood ready in Aachen and Cologne to enter belgium and rapidly approach the French border. The battle for the Ardennes had begun.

declarewaronBelgium.jpg

franceinvasionplan.jpg

Troops at the Maginot line where stuck, couldn't go through it and thus stationed there to prevent France from attacking them. The panzer divisions from Aachen took long to pass through the Ardennes in the winter and met with some heavy resistance in the beginning. Lots of French divisions and even some remaining dutch divisions held their ground at Bastogne. The German troops had not interpreted this stand-off and lacked the artillery support that would crush the French-Belgian-Dutch defenses.

In the north it went a lot better and Antwerp fell to the german forces. Ghent was taken next and the French-Belgian-Dutch defenses where about to be attacked on 2 fronts at the same time.

The panzer divisions of Aachen split up and went towards Liege, Namur and Arlon first and then flanked Bastogne on 3 sides supported by the troops that where dispatched from antwerp causing the Dutch and Belgian forces to surrender at Bastogne. The french troops retreated into France.

A large Panzer division broke off from the main group and stormed into Brussels, capturing the Belgian royal family. The government escaped to england.

After Mons was taken only the French border was in front of them. The Panzer divisions that got delayed in Bastogne hooked up with the main assault force and they entered France on the 25th of december near lille.

The invasion of France was long and harsh. The winter really kicked in those weeks and German forces had to cope with the cold for a long time as the blitzkrieg didn't allow them to rest.

Advances where definitly made though and by december 30th Dunkerque, Lille and Valenciennes had fallen.

At sea a large and important battle started on december 30th 1939 between English and German fleets. At 4 o'clock in the morning Admiral Raeder had spotted the English fleet. Thinking it was the HMS furious and escorts he turned to face them, as they did. However, when the fleets got closer to eachother Admiral Raeder saw to his great fear that this fleet was much larger then the ones they had encountered every so often during these last months.Admiral Raeders fleet consisted of 1 Battleship(the Bismarck), 7 cruisers and 5 destroyers. The english fleet they encountered had 2 carriers(Furious and Glorious), 6 battleships(Royal Oak, Royal sovereign, Nelson, Ramilles, Rodney and Resolution), 2 battlecruisers(hood and renown), 10 heavy cruisers and 15 light cruisers.

AT 9 o'clock AM they opened fire upon the German fleet. The germans fought well, many light cruisers in the beginning of battle where damaged. The fire was heavy and a shot from the BB HMS Nelson sunk the CA KMS Graf Spee and the CA Leipzig soon followed. At the moment the english where not paying attention however Raeder ordered the Bismarck to flanking position and from an almost impossible range started firing upon the carrier Furious. The planes from the 2 carriers where not launched however. Perhaps they where out of feul or ammo. Instead the 2 carriers left the battlefield, undamaged. The Bismarck pursued but was stopped as it was surrounded by 4 battleships. From a distance Raeder could see the KMS Admiral scheer and KMS Emden on fire, so he ordered ramming speed on the nearest Battleship. The Bismarck was heavily damaged but it got enough speed to outmaneuver the much less advanced battleship HMS Resolution and rammed it. Both the Bismarck and the Resolution sunk to the bottom of the sea. After seeing the Bismarck dive under the English fleet broke pursuit of the remaining Destroyers and headed home. One destroyers went back and picked up Admiral Raeders body from the rubble and sailed home. It will take long before the germans will face the british at sea again.

germanandenglishshiplosses1940.jpg

navalbattles1940.jpg

Luckily for germany there was a large fleet being build and after these new ships will be done they would continue their navy building. The first batch would be ready in less then 2 years and admiral Dönitz would take control.

A week into the fighing in France caused the French heavy losses, but advances where slow. Slowely but steadily German forces pushed their way towards Paris, flanking the Maginot line.

On January 13th Arlon and Calais where taken, a group of french divisions surrendered and the pressure on the germans was loosened in the west of the country.

The large french armies that where stationed in the maginot line however retreated back towards paris and fortified it and it neighbouring provinces.

Germans and French dug in again as they did in the First world war and they where unable to break eachothers defenses. More and more towns of France surrendered though, Dieppe gave in on January 25th and Le Havre was entered on February 1st.

Back and fort went the german and french forces in compiégne but it was fully taken on Febraury 20th. The french became more desperate with each town lost.

From Compiégne the Germans launched an all out attack on Paris on March 5th, at the moment the least divisions where present. But the attack failed and they had to regroup and wait for a new attack.

New Panzer divisions where diverted to Paris from Rotterdam and where due to arrive in a week or 2.

In the mean time Hitler declared war upon Norway, and Norway entered the military alliance of England & co.

Hitler wanted Norway to become a puppet state and send 6 Divisions with transports to make sure they did become that. The landed in Oslo and defeated the Norwegian armies with ease. They chased them northwards, towards narvik and wanted to end the battles there. German subs and few cruisers made sure no English forces would land in the country, and none did.

Meanwhile more planes where send to Airfields near paris and where ordered to bomb the shit out of them, destroy as much as they can. The Eiffeltower, Arc de Triomph, Notre Dam. All where destroyed to break the French Divisons organization, communiaction and supplies.

On march 24th 1940 a second attack was made against paris, this time with fresh Panzer divisions and many planes that helped destroy the defenses. Finally the attack worked and German forces entered the Batte-torn Paris. From then on the german army's spread was unstoppable and they went eastward to close in the French army in Brittany.

paristaken.jpg

On April 2nd the Finnish winter war was over, and the Soviet Union had not gained anything. But, the soviet forces where building up in any case and the few Officers that where left in the red army had gained some experience. Hitler decided not to engage the Soviets, not untill England was beaten at least.

finnishwinterwarendApril21940.jpg

On April 23rd when Brittanny was secured and the German forces entered the city of Vichy the French surrendered. A man named Phillipe Petain wanted to set up a new neutral government in Southern France that would sympathize with any conditions from the nazi's. Hitler accepted this and Vichy France was born.

francedefeated.jpg

Hitler declared war on luxembourg and its little garrison was overrun in 2 days time. Luxembourg was annexed and the Government and Royal family executed.

Japan demanded the Harbors in Vietnam and Vichy France accepted.
-----------

So, thats that. Next the battle of britain and WWII will take a turn nobody could ever imagine.

Update!
------------
Now that France was defeated the Germans could relax. They had europe in their pocket. Hitler turned his evil eye on England and the Balkans next, he planned to destroy the airforce of england before invading and get the balkans on their side for an attack on Greece and Romania.

The battle of Britain started with many tactical bombers of Göring attacking radar stations on the coasts of England while Interceptors and Fighters attacked the bombing forces that where pounding on the German occupied territory since they took Holland. It seemed to go well. The radar stations where destroyed and kept being down untill the rest of the battle of britain. Interceptors(very advanced) meanwhile thinned out the number of enemy bombers. The battle of Britain got a lot of media attention too. The destruction of London and english bombers going down where taped multiple times and the records stored in the new “National Socialist Bibliothek von Berlin”

During the battle for Britain the Soviet Union attacked and Annexed Estonia. Latvia joined the war on Estonia's side but where also annexed a few weeks later. Then, the Soviets declared war upon Lithuania, a country that Germany wanted for themselves.

Germany thought that the Soviets didn't deserve Lithuania, no entirely anyway. So on 8th of June 1940 Germany and Hungary declared war upon Lithuania.

Then news that shocked the world(well, me actually) Lithuania entered a military allaince with the Allies and as a result England declared war upon the Soviet Union!
englanddeclaresaronsoviet.jpg

This came as a great surprise for Hitler. His greatest enemies killing eachother off. Now Hitlers mind was set and ignored Soviet union for the rest of the war.

A day later however something happened what angered Hitler again. Italy declared war upon the Soviet Union as well but did not go into alliance with anyone(nobody wanted them). Hitler now couldn't bring Italy into the axis anymore as it would have required Hitler to attack the Soviet union as well and their not nearly enough troops on the Russian border.

italydeclareswaronsoviet.jpg

So instead Hitler Invited Franco from Spain to his capital and suggested a military allaince. After Much considderation Franco accepted and Declared war upon England and joined the axis. After hearing of this Boris III of Bulgaria went to berlin and signed the papers himself.

alliances.jpg

Then on June 14th that idiot from Yugoslavia declares war upon the Soviet Union too without any allies.

yugoslaviadeclareswar.jpg

Hitler could just not see it happening he would loose the Balkans, all the Soviet union had to do is Declare war on Romania and enter through there. Hitler had to act. Quickly.

Hitler quickly forced Portugal to sign the Alliance papers as well and as seen a big victory Japan signed it too 3 days later(along with his puppets). Hitler pronounced this alliance to be the “main” axis powers and the face of the new world order: Germany, Hungary, Spain, Bulgaria, Portugal, Japan and China. It was broadcasted all across the world on radio.

On June 15th the Soviet Union annexed Lithuania and gave Germany its territories there back, as in the deal. Hitler and Stalin where neutral towards eachother, but very suspicious. Stalin requested military aid for their war with england but Hitler refused it. He did promise to take out Yugoslavia though, as long as Stalin wouldn't attack Romania. This was accepted by the Soviets.

Not soon after the axis powers where made known too the world the United States of America entered the Allies in their war against the Axis and the Communists. All Chess pieces where now in play and the games could begin. The Japanese had not prepared for war with the US so soon though and their plans for dominating the pacific was sort of flushed down the toilet.

On July 1st 1940 a Coup happened in Romania when the Soviets demanded territory from them. Now Nazi's where in charge again and requested hitler to let them join the axis. Hitler accepted only if the former democratic government would be executed and they would let Germany control them military. This Romania accepted and on July 5th signed the papers too, right under China.

On July 7th, following the Romanians joining the axis Hitler declared war on Yugoslavia. All the axis joined and Yugoslavia joined the Allies.

declarationofwaronyugoslavia.jpg

notice the axis.
---------

Right, next will be the war against Yugoslavia(thats all i got, need to write what comes after).

See, i promised some strange developments.

Yeah, i had to give it back though

Please take a look at the Amy comparisons and snwer me this: Why in hell does Japan have 92 garrisons while they hold almost no occupied territory?

----------
While Hess was put in charge of the invasion of Yugoslavia Hitler flew to Japan to take a look at the Japanese armies and navy before they headed out to kick the Americans ass. Japan had one of the biggest navies of world and thanks to China had probably the best equipped Infantry of the world. A lot of Soldiers stood ready now to be loaded into the transports and go to the Phillipines and Guam. Further operation wheren't ready yet and most Japanese Soldiers where garrisons intended to protect the Japanese mainland. But as long as te japanese fleet was ready Hitler was pleased, the US wouldn't mess around with Germany before the japanese navy was defeated. By the time they do Germany will be unstoppable.

armycomparisoninvasionyugoslavia.jpg

navycomparisoninvasionyugoslavia.jpg

The chinese where a lot less equipped though as most of their resources went to Japan. Still, their army was large enough to keep the british away. After a week Hitler returned to Berlin.

Hess was still in berlin, having to listen to the Generals talking about their plans of attack on Yugoslavia. But he didn't really listen, he wanted nothing more then to be the next in line to lead Nazi Germany but a Nazi Germany at peace, not war. He wasn't really fond of war, although it did provide the neccesary fear and commitment into the people. Now Hess had to lead the attacks on Yugoslavia on orders of the Führer himself. But the Führer wasn't here so Hess just retreated into his office after the generals had left. He just told them to continue on as planned and that everything must go swift, powerfull and nothing may go unnoticed, as Hitler always says. So, now the generals are in charge of the operation as long has Hitler doesn't find out.
-------

Yugoslavia wil be invaded in next update

So, here the Yugoslavian invasion. Guess who wins?

---------
Yugoslaviainvasion-1.jpg

German Panzers crossed the border of Yugoslavia and engaged the garrisons stationed at Lubiljana and Maribor.

German commanders where put in charge of the Hungarian Forces and started their advance in Novi Sad, the Hungarian armies where doing well, they had lots of german training and their army alone was enough to beat the Yugoslavian one. The bulgarian forces on the other hand didn't have much luck. The german commanders ordered the soldiers to start attacks on all bordering provinces and hold untill word came from Hungarian and Romanian(who refused german military control) armies of good advances.

The initial attacks on Nis and Stip where a succes and Bulgarian forces continued towards Skopje and the mediterranean coast. A Bulgarian General in charge of a division of men initiated an attack on Pristina on July 8th. The attack failed and the Bulgarian division broke off their attack. The Yugoslavians now counter attacked on all borders with Bulgaria. The counter attack laster for 3 days but none broke through the Bulgarian defences.

This did slow down the advances in South Yugoslavia though, to great delight of Hitler. German forces from the West advanced quickly, taking town by town and where determined to take Belgrade before the Hungarians did.

Romanian forces, after taking Zrenjanin headed south and defeated the Yugoslavian divisions that defeated the Bulgarians on July 18th. They advanced all the way to Pristina and assisted the Bulgarians in taking Skopje.

This succeeded and now they could assist the Germans in taking the important Mediterranean port Podgorica on July 21th.

On July 27th the German forces with help of Hungary and Romania took Sarajevo. This meant the end of Yugoslavia. On august 1st 1940 it was annexed by Germany.

yugoslaviadividedup.jpg

Hitler made a puppet government in the Yugoslavian area of Serbia and Croatia, so he won't have to send garrisons there to suppress the people. Bulgaria was given Stip and Skopje while Romania got the Bulgaria bordering provinces of Nis and Pristina. Hungary was only given the small province of Novi Sad as thank you.
--------

Next the final steps in Europe and the future plans.

i can tell you its very weird playing Germany without Italy as your ally, especially an Italy that has a badder situation then Germany.

well thats interesting...democracy vs communism! with fascism on the sidelines :p why havent italy joined the axis?

They declared war on the Soviets. i don't want war with the soviets.

Well a weekend without Internet is harsh..... But i was able to correct a mistake i made, i totally forgot the ar against Norway :D

But, i will get to that soon, first an update:

------------
Now Germany had access to the Mediterranean and plans where made to send troops over towards Egypt and the Middle-East. But first things first, King boris III of Bulgaria invited Hitler to his new palace in Skopje and requested German support of an Invasion of Greece. Hitler accepted and moments later a telegram arrived at the Greek Government with a declaration of war signed by all the axis(a very big, very illustrated letter) on August 8th 1940.

Greecejoinstheallies.jpg

Italy had declared war on greece earlier on August 2nd 1940. Mussolini didn't care about its war with the Soviet Union as that country was miles away and he was pretty confident about Turkish Neutrality. Hitler went to Mussolini for a visit and yelled at him from here to Tokyo. He threatened Mussolini that if he would notice any italian forces in Albania crossing the border into greece Hitler would declare war on Italy and made sure Benito would never see the light of day again.

So, on August 9th 1940 when the Allies declared war upon Italy and Italian forces marched into Egypt and started bombing Malta the Italian armies in Albania stayed put. Italian Bombers that where already bombing Crete and Athens where called back and the blockades on the ports where lifted.

Italydeclareswarongreeceandgivegerm.jpg

This gave the Greeks freedom to retreat their forces from Tefalonica which was besieged by Italians and send them to the frontlines.

16 German Divisions on the Greek Border where deployed to assist the much smaller Bulgarian army. Greek froces where overrun by a lightning storm. The greek forces fought though, they fought hard. Bulgarian forces where defeated many times and German panzers where slowed down by Britsh planes. Even much so that once Athens came in sight only Bulgarian forces where present. But there where only 2 infantry divisions left of the Greek forces to defend their capital. On september 2nd 1940 Bulgarian forces enetered Athens and the last of the Large Greek forces retreated to Crete.

The Greek Government was captured and formally signed the surrender papers accepting all terms of Bulgaria, which was total annexation and occupation of all of Greece. All of greece? Not really, for the Island of Crete didn't surrender and didn't allow German ships to dock with their ports for occupation.

Hitler didn't feel like sending his planes to bomb them out of the island and since Bulgaria didn't have an Airforce Hitler called Mussolini who was delighted and although being treathened with Invasion many times by hitler demanded that Crete would be occupied by Italy instead of Bulgaria as the only way to invade the island was to drop paratroopers behind the coastal defences.

Reluctant but seeing Mussolini's point Hitler accepted and the Italian Airforce bombed Crete for 7 days and 7 nights. Then Paratroopers and Amphibious assaults kicked the Greek and British forces off the island. 200,000 men surrendered and 5 destroyer divisions of England where captured.

Finally Italian strength was seen by Hitler to be usefull and Hitler decided next to Help Mussolini in Africa, even though Mussolini didn't think he would need it.
