Johan is everywhere, you as a Pdox gamer should know that ;)

Not only is it impossible not to like the weather here... Kamchatka? Come on! If we're to move on the weather at least do so to Brazil :D

How or why did they move their capital?

Once I saw Aragon move its capitol to "Grain Coast"... it was rather weird, but after looking around it made sense. They had at least 1/3 of Africa, and pretty much all of Italy. They had been at war with France for awhile also. It must have benefited them greatly... they were the only nation ahead of me in government tech, and tied or ahead in everything else. Although if I were the AI I think I could have spent 1000 ducats more wisely than that.

but what about the winters, they're horrible :D

They'll go back to Portugal while winter lasts ;)

It would seem to take a few months to go to and between lisbon and Kamchatka, so all year they would be traveling to and between two cities, kinda defeats the purpose.

Since when did the rulers of that age ever need an excuse to do anything? ;)

NA allows you to move your capital for a fairly substantial fee.

As for why, well, you'll have to ask the Portuguese AI.

It's especially weird because Portugal itself is still relatively intact, and I think they have more colonies in South America than in Russia.
