A weird, but possibly WAD thing just happened to me: I managed to coup the US, which in itself is a bit strange (with Italy, no less), but they joined the Allies back, after a couple weeks, as a national socialist nation.

Also, after Bitter Peace, I find it strange that the Soviet Union becomes a fascist nation.

thanks MacDunne good catch. I've also change counter espionnage to 250, and it's fine.

I come back one second on ressource stockpile, playing GER, I arrive on 30 August 39, with the following :
E: 326K and 1032/day, enough stock for infinite time
M: 110k and 249/day, enough stock 6875 days
R: 45K and 107/day, enough stock for 1730 days
O: 49K and 33/day
IC : 265

these numbers are without any trade agreement and considering a constant production and IC numbers. I find this is too much, I would say that as Germany we should hit no more than 25K of rare when the war begin, this will let GER with around 916 days of stock in case of complete blocus (ie: no trade). although we can argue that strat bombing can reduce ressource production, even with half rare production (ie: 50/day) GER can still run its industry for more than 500 days. a bit too much, IMO.

I think that one of the problems with Counter-Espionnage is that the AI never does it. In Epsilon, they seem to be quite active with spying, sabotage and smear campaigns, but not counterspying.

First, Build AI scheme is really, really good. We do not see USA building its Army like crazy before war begin, but gently reenforcing its IC capacity and Navy.
Also we see a big jump in US peacetime in January 39, reading the event this is due to JAP belligerence, I believe the +20 to peacetime is too much. Next hit is in January 40 (France has fallen) and again +20 is IMO too much. I guess all is in event 569011. May be this need more events to add peacetime smoothly, I'll try to propose something on this.

I've agreed to do a bit of poking about in the names file and fixing things, so here's my to-do list (partially complete). If you find more unit type names that seem "off", post and let me know about it. Report on the unit pictures as well, 1935 carrier groups seem to be enjoying their twin engine jets a little too early.

For the CA line, try fitting in the Oregon City-class (improved Baltimores) between Cleveland (a CL) and Des Moines. That and New Orleans and Northhampton before Baltimore.

Ju-87-D is a better fit for 1940 (assuming designed in 1940) than the -G, seeing as the -G was a highly specialized -D for ground attack.

Ta-183 should be added as either a 47 interceptor or fighter and the He-162 moved to 44. A 262-HBIII (streamlined and improved 262) would be a contender for 47 fighter then. Though I'm sure this has been argued about on the forums for some time, perhaps the int/fighter breakdown should go as follows:

You can build full size CVs, CVLs and CVEs, all of which accept a flight group. CVLs and CVEs use a different, weaker flight group though, so try not to look silly and produce the wrong one. CVLs are smaller, weaker versions of the fleet carriers and the CVEs are slow (~16 kmh) but very cheap. Good for hunting subs, provided that enemy surface vessels aren't nearby.

Right, but they were new as compared to the KGV class, the unfinished hulls were scrapped by 1943. So I would then be placing them between the KGV class and the Vanguard class, which actually saw a completed ship.

...!!! I'm rather behind just coming onto this mod now. Unfortunately I'm playing vicky mostly right now when I have even time to play- 2 or 3 hours only a week =( but next month I'll have more free time and I hope I can contribute to this mod. I like LM's idea's, mostly because they match mine, but also not some huge ego as sometimes befalls mod maintainers and can actually listen to other ideas.

Will be nice to come back to hoi and not be bored. =D Be back next month!

one thing that I should have said - I started the game as USA, and after one month reloaded as GER so maybe some AI events occurred - I should start just as GER before asking questions!

EDIT: I loaded as GER and while the hvy fighter techs are available and the first level is researched already - no production of a heavy fighter is available on the production screen.

Ok, I just started a test game and one weird thing jumped out at me: Basic Heavy Fighter is a '36 tech, and it opens a new FTR model, but the Basic Multirole Fighter (which makes FTRs eligible to build) is a '38 (or '39) tech - counterintuitative.

I'm also having no luck on counter-espionage, despite 40% odds (about 5 attempts w/o success). I know it's possible that I'm just having bad luck, but...

Hiya. Nice mod by and large, but there are a few sticking points. USA playthrough that's ongoing, for the record.

While I'm very happy someone fixed up the presentation of the intelligence tab, the actual mechanics of the section are a mess. The money values probably need some adjustment, the prices vary wildly into the range of 'can't ever afford it'. Unless you're a big moneymaker like the USA, anyway. On top of that? I tried to clear out spies over twenty times and never got a one. One assumes there is something in place preventing it, despite stated odds of 40 percent.

On the other hand? My odds to send a spy anywhere are well over 100 percent. It's trivial to get up to ten spies and this opens you wide up for all sorts of shenanigans. I mean, yeah, anyone can coup Germany before WW2 if they really work on it in vanilla, but I didn't even have to try.

Ran into a bit of a snag with an ahistorical event. The Nomonhan/Chasan Lake string ended up with Japan declaring war on the Soviets. Lucky day for me, I suppose, but I noticed the Soviet AI was very sluggish and lethargic. While they had more than sufficient forces in theater, the advance was half hearted. It took them quite a long time to take Manchuko even with a decisive man advantage AND a very weak Japanese AI. The only opposition was a few reserves of Manchuko, yet it took the better part of a year for that part to be annexed. Once it was it became a weird little stalemate, sorta. There wasn't a single unit defending Korea, so the Soviets snapped that right up. The only exception was one of the northeastern mountain provinces, which had several island garrisons in a long last stand. Notably the Soviet AI has made no attempt to dislodge it, even though it should be no particularly difficult task and ties up several divisions. Further, despite only facing a garrison unit that's severely under manned with 5 divisions(Including armor), there's been no action on Sakhalin Island. Further, the Soviet AI refuses to go any farther into China than Changde, despite almost no opposition. Ditto with Mongolia and Mengkuoko, despite there being no particular resistance present.

It feels like the AI ran into a predefined stop line. Very wonky AI overall for this war. It's one of those one in a hundred chances to occur, so I'm figuring it ran into some other AI for the area, perhaps?
