Well, Saudi Arabia and Persia seems to be easy targets.

The Republic of Peru offer peace to our Empire. Il Duce decides to agree, before the Allies could get this new base and supplies source.

A quick view in my technological research..

imagem25hb6.png

.. before the big announcement of the month: The Operazione Ciocollato has begun!! Three months after the Swiss espionage fly upon Turin the Romans legions shall descend upon the Swiss people and his Barbarian leader, Mr. Albert Meyer (see his awful description in the SS bellow)!!

imagem26wm2.png

Albert Meyer and the DoW of the Roman people against Switzerland

At the same day, at 4 o'clock, our famous and battle-hardened Folgore Airborne division, together with another Airborne division embarks in our transport airplanes..

And At noon they, together with an all-out assault of 18 others divisions attack the key-point of Chur, a fortified and mountainous target. Despite all this, and the Elite Swiss troops defending the regions, nothing can resist the Imperial Eagle. So, the Swiss were beaten back! The "Fortress Swiss" was broken!!

A French counterattack tries to relieve the tie around the their Capital. But this time it is not against the strong Romans advancing divisions in the North, but against the weak Portuguese Infantry in the South. More specific against the Portuguese key port and airbase of Banana, the only bridgehead of the Sofia's Pact in the Right bank of the Congo River. The battle is difficult but our Alliance have twice defeated superior attackers numbers, the Romans in Caucasus campaign and last month a Hungarian division in Libreville. We hope the Portuguese to do what the hole Pact expect of them, cleaning forever the stupid British propaganda myth of Portuguese cowardice following the 4th Battle of Ypres (Lys) in the Great War.

In the same day, Il Duce approves the next phase of the Operazione Ciocollato, the attack to Zürich, with the Air Force bombardment and Airborne support.

Saudi arabia is easy to break. Just land forces (by sea, it's much faster) next to their capitla and then advance to the capital. They're really weak.
It's not so easy, as you will see in a couple of updates, and our Naval Staff is a little upset in sending our surface fleet to out of the Med, facing the RN and the USN are no easy mission.

Il Duce like challenges, so he choose the "hard target".

Thanks! However I must say that the campaign went a little different than what has been planned.

can garrisons attack in HSR? and Rome shall again rule Helvetia!
No, they cannot.

Do you mean the attack on Banana? Those aren't Garrisons but militia.
Exactly.

Victory in Banana!!
Our brave Portuguese Allies have stopped the French assault! Finally the Battle of La Lys was removed from the Portuguese memory as General Peixoto é Cunha proved to be himself more competent than Gomes da Costa in 1918.

Portuguese Generals of the Great War, they have fought that time with us, but the stupid British have stabbed all us for the back!!

Following our combined land and airborne assault on Zürich, and being bombarded from everywhere, the Swiss attempted to make peace with us.
This gave to Il Duce an interesting idea..

imagem31ij9.png

Il Duce declined this offer, but..

We decided to offer immediately a counteroffer: the Swiss would gave us all their lands except Bern and will join the Sofia's Pact as a Roman Confederatii (puppet) State in exchange for the Roman permission to the Swiss remain as a National State..
This also gave us more than 15 Swiss divisions that will be useful to combat Partisans and fight against the Barbarians in the east..

The second battle of Banana was again a Portuguese victory!!
However, this time, the biggest benefit of the Portuguese resistance was not only to halt the French but to exhaust them. Now, the Roman troops are in position and condition (after the hard fight for Brazeville) to strike into Libreville (yes, a change of plans was made, the Frenck had moved 19 divisions to Point-Noire and the Roman HC has decided to strike in Libreville instead).

Marshal Pintor, an offensive and jungle rat leader leads the attack. This is the biggest battle ever fought in Africa, as 51 divisions clash in the Equatorial Congolese Forest.

We expect so. The actual situation is funny, the French don't have any VP in Africa, and their capital is already occupied, the problem is their lone VP in Cayenne, South America. As I don't risk my entire navy crossing the hole Atlantic, I will have to dealt with those division in Africa with the old-efficient Roman way. Smash them to the ground!!! :D

New updates only in the next weekend, so I see you then, good week for you all and feel free to give comments/suggestion/critics!!

See ya!

Those Barbarians in the East?

Could it be Persia?
Or Saudi-Arabia?
Or even in the far-east? Like China, Japan, India, the remains of the USSR?

hmmm... You still in war with US? Invading them could be a nice challenge.

It's a tip, not a affirmative.

Yes I'm at war with the USA, however, I don't want to sail a fleet to other side of the Atlantic without conquer the UK for example. It's a challange for the last couple of years in the game, if so.

Yes, but the Japanese have captured it.

After months of almost none relevant act the Roman Fleet set sail once more. The destiny is Arabia: It's the launch of Operazione Duna di Sabbia!!

The plan is simple: to disembark the Elite Romans divisions (that just defeated the Swiss in Operazione Ciocolatto) that are in Genoa, in Abha, where our Secret Service has detected the presence of Bedouins only. This will open a second front against Arabia and begin the fight against the British puppets governments of the region (Yemen and Oman). British India is to close and Il Duce agrees with his generals that we can't give a chance to the Allies to open a direct front against our Empire.

The Armored divisions waiting for transport: hot climate is no problem for them, as they are veterans of the war in North Africa

Three days later, our transports are under way, however, our Navy will not get out of the Med, and will only escort the transports until the Suez Cannel. After there they are for their own. The other notice of the day is a new type of airplane: rocket interceptor.

imagem38hv3.png

Our Battle fleet waiting for the transports

Six days after the begin of the mission, the disappointment: there are regular soldiers in Abha. This is a complete shock for the entire fleet, as the Armored divisions are not made for Amphibious landings. The only choice is to abort the operation and to come back to home. Operazione Duna di Sabbia are delayed for undetermined time.

October 4th, 1944

After the battle for Brazzaville, in late August, the front in Equatorial Africa is in a stalemate. The French are surprised by the Portuguese strength in Banana and don't attempted any new attack against them. In other hand our forces in the north of Pointe-Noire are outnumbered by the French that are dug-in in the Jungle, which don't give us any chance of succed in a frontal attack. However, the Belgian city of Léopoldville is encircled, and our forced is the High curse of the Congo River will attack them, helped by the troops in the Low Curse. This is the last province/VP of Belgium. This battle obliterates one more Roman enemy! Today we also made a new technological research: Turbojet Aircrafts. Il Duce is much more pleased with this type of airplane than the rocket interceptor. The Roman factories will soon have a new project to make..

imagem40jh5.png

The battle for Léopoldville

The Roman enemies in these Age are not so weak as the other of the Ancient Age.. Few times the Romans faced such brave men as these of the 4th South African Infantry division in the Battle of Kalabo. Even with the possibility of retreat they prefer to fight to the death. As Romans we do our job: send them to our father, the God Mars!

imagem41qe1.png
The South African division, moments before its destruction

October 8th, 1944

Aftter some resistance we finally win the day in Kalabo. And at the same time one more Latin People discover that we are part the same of the same culture and decide to make peace with us. Il Duce immediately agrees.

October 24th, 1944

One month after the frustrated naval action in the Red Sea, along the Saudi Arabian coast, the Imperial Navy is decided to prove its worth. A plan, proposed by the Naval Staff and authorized by Il Duce is put in action. A fleet will sail to the Atlantic and go as further as its Range allows. Then a second fleet consisted only of transports will go, alone, until the shore of South America, to disembark soldiers in the French Guyana the lone French VP. This will destroy more than 40 divisions in Central Africa. It's a ambitious plan, the most ambitious plan ever planed by a Roman. It's the Operazione Atlantis. Il Duce is confident, but is he right in risking our navy to cross the Atlantic??

imagem43be1.png

The fleet going for the Oran base, to gain range in the Atlantic.

The war goes on..
