Chapter 15: Al 'Aqabah
As told with many pictures. And a moderate amount of words.

I also declare war on the Medinan sheikdoms that have established themselves in northeastern France. Yes. Right next to the Germans, who will also be at war with them being my liege, and will also hopefully conquer them and not the other way around.
Meanwhile Welshguy's Acre regiment reaches Al 'Aqabah and begins to siege it immediately.
Since I can't have that, Stefan's regiment arrives to steal it.
And okay that was boring but it was purposefully boring as if there were Medinan regiments anywhere around to make things exciting bad things would have happened.
And how kind of them to be working on a castle that would be finished right after I completed the siege?
And now I ask for peace for 'all' of my treasury. Surprisingly they don't accept.
Yeah I guess when the 'Aqabahns get back from watching the Hungarians and their former Occitan vassals fight in the French Riviera they'll be a fearsome sight to behold.
They want to play hardball, do they? Then I'll play hardball!
Hardball!
Yeah!
Wooooooooooooo! Yeah! C'mon, aren't you excited? Give me something to work with here. I mean, this is exciting, right? Well as exciting as this AAR's going to get. Maybe. Y'know I'm not actually going to take Mecca, just sit outside it until they give in. And there you have it in the next exciting episode of Real Men Do It Alphabetically, an AARgau!

We're all rendered speechless by your incredible luck. Part of it is good strategy, but your Habsburgs are as lucky as their real counterparts: a nice shiny new castle and conversion to boot.
I see the Al Aquabah regiment has continued its existence after you have taken their homeland. Me, whenever I lost a province to Islam or revolt my regiment from said province always disappeared, whether or not it was on its own or in a stack. It became really tiresome having to save, exit to edit the gamefile to remove their offending regiments. The automatic taking of provinces was another bugbear.
You're fortunate that he ai doesn't use the player exploit and disband the armies in France and magically return home. Now that's another thing; the ai prefers to carry on attacking far distant foes, whilst ignoring an enemy sieging its provinces back home.
Impressive. But I'm happy to see that the financial trick of your usual peaces have not worked this time. You know, I'm a kind of sadistic![]()
Well done, by the way. Great AAR.

I believe Al Bichri is located quite near another member of the alphabetical empire...your luck is really quite mindblowing. The Medinans will sue for peace soon enough.

I don't have access to the game right now, and won't for another week, so... where IS Al Bichri? I mean, in relation to the rest of the world?Originally Posted by JimboIX

But who cares about all that crap? On to whatever we're still doing!
Hehe look at those Thessalonikans, all warring it up with the Byzantines.
And my Bishop of Abauj is excommunicated?
Well at least that was easy to fix. UNLIMITED POWER!
YES, POWER! AND HARDBALL! LET'S PLAY HARDBALL MECCA!
NOTHING SAYS PLAYING HARDBALL THAN OFFERING UP YOUR ENTIRE REAL TREASURY FOR PEACE! ARE YOU JUST GOING TO TAKE THAT, MEDINA? WELL, ARE YA?
To be honest, I was actually hoping they would.
Meanwhile, Germany's doing an all-right job of taking down those French Muslim provinces
And the Scandinavians have a fraternal slapfight.
And Sicily is saved! Eat it, Islam!
Which in this case means that three out of the five provinces of Sicily are in Christian hands, as opposed to two. Yeah! Eat it!
That's right, Islam! I shall repeat my instructions for eating 'it' a third time right here in this signoff, as that is how vast my contempt for you in this failure to keep Sicily no more than 40% Christian is! Now would you please please please take all my money for peace I'm begging you. Don't miss the next exciting episode of Real Men Do It Alphabetically, an AARgau!
