Well I must say, it's a relief to get that long list off of my Notepad file again.

Great, now I just warned everyone that clicked on Last Page that the long list will appear again. Though they should have figured it out by now.

Time to tussle with the Empire.

There may be other vassals of the Emperor who are equally tired of his heavy handed rule and will help you obtain the target As residing inside the Empire.

So what's the prestige you need this time to claim Abydos?

Nice rebellious character Otto got there, now you should have an easier time to get that province, maybe you can convince more rebellious vassals to aid you against this silly Emperor…

You gonna finally take a ducal title?

Yeah, I'd say a civil war would be just the thing. Not sure how you're going to pick up enough prestige first, though. When you DOW the Fatimids to pick up Acre, you can't take other cities for the prestige and then give them away.

Maybe go one at a time and lower the cost with looting?

. . . oooooor take advantage of revolution's free liege claim to grab Byz's imperial title - and then just tell all those whiners that they aren't cool enough to live in Byz any more? For certainly uber-Catholic Habsburgs on the Roman throne is about as cool as CK gets...

Any other suggestions, people?

God Hates Abauj.

Chapter 3: Abydos

As told with many pictures. And a moderate amount of words.

(All formats, fonts, layouts, and even this little disclaimer pillaged ruthlessly from phargle's
Knud Knýtling, Prince of Denmark (and other assorted tales))

In this update, you will see that God hates Abauj. Well, the County of Abauj already has only a .60 base Base Income, so it's not like it was blessed to begin with...

ScreenSave294.jpg

But every little bit hurts.

ScreenSave296.jpg

Huh, maybe I should take care of those 130-odd besiegers now. Well, let's do it! Mobilize the local regiment! Let the loyal sons of Abauj flock to our banner and crush the-

Well, it will have to do...

ScreenSave298.jpg

And so, Moric and his brothers and cousin and local drinking buddies grab their assorted blunt objects and face the mob of one hundred...

ScreenSave299.jpg

And win! And despite the record saying that everyone Moric had managed to round up plus Moric himself had died in that battle, actually three men somehow survived, Moric among them!

ScreenSave300.jpg

And so Abauj is once more safe from marauding rebels, and the locals are free to enjoy the prosperity of...their province...and...

Hey look! A man with an eyepatch!

Just what will anonymous4401 do with Abauj, as it becomes more apparent every day that it is merely a drain on the empire? And while God was hating Abauj, how much hate was he reserving for those poor fools in Abydos, who made the mistake of being next on the alphabetical list? And speaking of the list, would you like to see it again? I mean, right now? No? Well, why not? You won't believe your eyes when you read the next exciting episode of Real Men Do It Alphabetically, an AARgau!

Maybe you'll actually see the province start making negative income :p

And, as our dear friend Murmurandus would probably say, "Real Men Don't Need Money" :D

Hey! You stole my line... :D

Real Men Don't Fear The Wrath Of God, Especially Not The Abaujadians... :p :D

Praise heaven for those 3 latecomers whose surprise appearance behind rebel ranks saved Moric. The Thieves Guild had done nothing to stop the rebels muscling in on their activities, so they decided to turn themselves in helped to win a battle and execute all of their former friends. But what's this story about a province already captured doing in a never-ending tale about taking the provinces alphabetically?

Real Men take provinces!

He's giving you more time to help him out with some strategery.

Good to see that you managed to crush the rebels, but I guess one can say that you got lucky there with only 3 men surviving, but you won and that is the most important.

Abauj will not be the same without those thieves...

The funny thing is that he has to collect quite a lot of states to get any duke title, and until that he'll get a very nice large demensne penalty.

Unless he will give up on Abauj and give it to someone, making a gap in his alphabetical list and having to return back to conquering Abauj.

though...
