This is the province of Al Hasa. Instead of a base-0.60 desert Arab province it is a base-0.99 desert Arab province.
But the Shamalayanesque twist to this oft-told tale is that the ruler of Al Hasa is neither Arab, nor Muslim, nor desert! No, it is Igor Syraneres of the Syraneres family
Which is apparently the family that rules the Principality of Nikaea and Al Hasa, which is the second-strongest Principality in the Empire. Abydos is the first-strongest having 19 provinces and all. Naturally Igor is a son-count of the prince.
Which lets us do this awesome thing!
That's right, we declare war on Al Hasa which makes Nikaea declare war on us which makes the Emperor declare war on them ejecting them from the Empire and being at war with them. It's a really really awesome game exploit. Learn it, love it.
Of course this sudden declaration of war sees comrades in arms becoming enemies and enemies possibly becoming even worse enemies, and Hermann's jaunt across Nikaean territory turns from an enjoyable journey to a house of pain.
Because seriously a six-to-one numerical advantage is NOT enough for Hermann von Can't Win Any Battle Ever Habsburg.
I seriously didn't think this would work but it somehow did. I guess it might have something to do with Al Hasa's regiment being strangely nonexistent. But you'd think they'd at least wait for my armies to get anywhere near the province.
Well whatever, time to give out provinces to those German ladies with Arab last names that came with Johann's brief stint as a child-count.
And since the late Enrique von Habsburg has shown a will to continue his line so strong that he had a bastard despite being a pious Bishop of Achaia, I decide to reward his noble efforts by giving his son a worthless desert province full of Arabs.
Follow Johann von Habsburg to the end, kids, and you too may one day rule a worthless desert province full of Arabs! Your as well as your descendants' actions will then be ignored until the inevitable day you/they rebel, in which case you/they will be crushed mercilessly as you were given a poor worthless province whose maximum regiment size is 300. They thought Al Hasa was a worthless desert province full of Arabs, too. You are heir to the Empire and all; its cold and lonely outside the Empire with all those Seljuks riding around looking for lone provinces to gobble up.
Only Al Jawf before you can finally annex Al Jazita from its Hungarian Catholic owner or was that another province of a similar name? Alphabet fatigue has set in.
