It's my turn to pass on this award, and I would like to choose an AAR that I really enjoyed reading and which inspired me to do more character focus in my own AARs. It is mostly a history book AAR, but there is a lot of character focus in internal politics and journals about the war effort. In particular I enjoyed the diaries of Niccolò Gallo recounting the Battle of New York City.

The Torch of the Mediterranean: A Socialist Republic of Italy Kaiserreich AAR

Congratulations to MercZ!

Congratulations!

Congratulations! I'll have to check this AAR out :)

Congratulations, MercZ!

Nice choice. Well done MercZ! Congratulations!

Congratulations MercZ!

Many thanks everyone. Thanks to Sybot in particular for singling out my AAR for recognition. I suppose I will post again come the end of the weekend to pass the torch- any specific rules in effect here?

Many thanks everyone. Thanks to Sybot in particular for singling out my AAR for recognition. I suppose I will post again come the end of the weekend to pass the torch- any specific rules in effect here?

1. Nominate an AAR roughly 2-3 days from now
2. Don't choose Sybot's AAR (or any AAR that's won recently)

I nominate Chilango2's AAR, "So far from God", as it sticks out to me the most. It has a narrative focused on the characters of his Mexico game, mixed with the events occurring as he plays with V2. I am interested in seeing where he goes with it, but he's definitely integrating a cast of characters in it who'll play a role in his history of Mexico.

Congrats Chilango!

Congratulations!

Thank you very much. I seem to be fortunate in drawing attention the few times I have had the time and energy to write an AAR, it's really quite an immense compliment. :)

I shall announce successor this coming Sunday, March 11th. :) This means I will need to take more time to read more AAR's, god help me, but I will do my best to select a worthy author. :)

I'm sure just about everyone feels this is the case when they are tasked with finding an AAR worthy of subjecting to praise, but this really was difficult, as there are lots of interesting choices. Nonetheless, after due consideration I think that ShiaoPi's characters his [thread=588056]Destined for Greatness- A House Hohenstaufens AAR[/thread] truly become fully fleshed human beings in a way that makes the family drama that has been at the center of his story leap out to me. Congratulations. :)
