Oh, I seem to have missed the debate question. Worthy contenders, all, but I must cast my vote for the Beaufighter.

Ok folks going on my count of twenty posts per page we need ten more posts after this one for the new page.

That means a conversation topic...

So how bout that Gloucester Meteor and/or Hurricane MK2 and/or Bristol Beaufighter (my favourite)?

And yes I fall under the "plane porn" category.

Well, since we're talking Franco-British industrial relations there's always the issue of how the cooling of relations affects the Air Ministry possibly adopting the 20mm Hispano for these fine aircraft.

Always been a Beau fan myself--love the multi-role types, Mossie too.

Don't worry, I'm sure Pippy will come up with some obscure South African inventor who created a superior 20mm cannon but lost the contract due to Boer influence or some such nonsense. I predict OTL Beaufighter to be even better... or else!

Knowing El Pip, he probably already found that tiny little detail.

It is part of his charm, after all.

No update here, or indeed any response to the comments I'm afraid.

I'm currently in the middle of arranging my wedding for July AND maybe buying my first house with my soon to be wife, so I will be a little distracted over the next few weeks and my writing time will probably end up being spent in wedding planning/talking to estate agents.

I will return, but I've no idea when. Think MacArthur, but better. ;)

...I always knew you were a Prince among men, El Pip. ;)

Good luck and look up when the ceremony is in full swing - that roar of aero-engines will be me and a select few team mates barrel-rolling overhead!

All best to you an bride-to-be and family Pip. I did the wedding/buying a house two-fer a few years ago and your head WILL spin for awhile, but when it's all done, well, it's great.

My god man, are you insane?!?

Nah, just kidding. Three years into my own life sentence and loving it. Wait till you have little Pippettes running around... magical!

Best of luck from this Antipodean household and many happy returns to the bride to be.

Say... your wedding is in July right, not friday at the Abbey?!? Just checking... ;)

Cheers,
Dury.

Congratulations!

:D

Just make sure your wife gives you time to write...I, on the otherhand, well...snuggle-time and Dancing with the Stars and keeping up the house have stolen writing time away...

But hey, I'm much happier then I was before getting married.

Heres hoping you have a joyful relationship!

Thank you all for the congratulations, only two weeks till the big day and some random number of days till the house move so this is just a brief drop in not my grand return. So thanks for the kind messages and patience on this one, one day we will finish this, even if it is 2079 using hypernet 3D senso-vision.

In a room somewhere at some internet company, someone is reading this and thinks, "Hmm...not a bad idea. We should look into it."
