trekaddict - That would all depend on how the naval war goes and what state Britain is in when it all shakes out. That said I do think it was a shame that a few more weren't retained as museum ships in OTL, HMS Warspite for instance deserved better than the inglorious end she recieved.

Nathan Madien - My rage is such I am compelled to mention it whenever the topic comes up.

Dury will be pleased he is not completely alone in hoping for tanks, could this be the fightback? Look at what happened to Garner-White in the US election, it's not impossible.

Derek Pullem - With extra 'k' no doubt?

Bafflegab - Truly you are indefatigable in your pursuit of stuffed ballot boxes. :D

Tanks and Trucks - IV Votes
Schisms and Scheming - X Votes
Battle-cruisers and Dive Bombers - IX Votes

The lead has changed hands, but can option 2 hold onto this most narrow of leads?

I learned well from the Liberians mentioned in this very AAR!!... speaking of which... Schisms and Schemes....:D

Ooh, I've missed a lot of posting...

I see from the latest that Britain's little "deniable intervention" in Spain is heading into deeper and darker waters, as such matters tend to. With the French, Soviets and Americans backing the other side, it's entirely possible that HMG may have burned its bridges in pursuit of a mirage, which is almost never a good idea. Of course, one of the fun things about your Spanish Civil War is that whichever side "wins", the most likely followup is a second round of conflict immediately afterwards, as the various factions on the winning side try to resolve which of them has, in fact, won.

More Scheming please!

No BBs for Britain? Heavens no. But, a 28kt ship can catch a 30kt ship when the latter has taken a few torpedoes thanks to the aircraft carrier accompanying the former. Pair Renown and Repulse each with a carrier (a la Force H) and you have 2 ideal hunting groups. : )

One more vote for naval!

Duritz - Ahh so it's a Labour thing to lie about saving the world. Our incompetent Labour leader is claiming the same thing, they can't both have single handedly saved the world so at least one of them is lying. My guess, of course, is that they're both lying. :D

It's a politician's trait, hardly limited to the left side of the chamber... however when you drill down through all the bullshit the key I believe is that the left saved the world. :p

Nice to see your still allowed on the internet though, guess you must have sneaked past the great firewall. But how long till Paradox is declared an undesirable website and banned by Rudd's internet filter? :eek:

Nah, I had a word to him and Paradox is safe... even with your right wing rants becoming more frequent! ;)

I am going to cast a this-is-for-Dury vote for Tanks and Trucks.

Thanks mate, although I don't like my chances of a comback... even with Pippy daring the States Righters to get involved. Still, gotta have faith...

Tank Porn please!

Dury.

Dury

Firstly, my hat is off to you, sir. I can not think of any greater exercise in futility than to support the Rabbitohs.

At the risk of inserting historical evidence into the polemics, I believe it was Peter Costello who squirrelled away the massive surpluses which allowed Australia to avoid the ravages of the GFC although credit must be given to Rudd/Swan for not stuffing it up, which, quite frankly, we all thought they were going to do, didn't we, Dury?

Finally, I've already voted, but a gentle reminder:

Tank bros before naval ho's.

Bafflegab - For all of Liberia's problems you can't fault their outstanding skills at vote rigging. From Zimbabwe to the Labour Party electoral fraudsters the world over owe them a debt of gratitude.

merrick - Those are going to become more common fears, though with the bridges already burnt there will be a strong incentive to ensure Britain gets something out of the fiasco. Pulling out wont improve relations significantly so HMG might as well go for the win, in for a penny in for a pound and all that.

DonnieBaseball - All true. But even then that's an argument for more BCs, after all if Renown and Repulse are escorting the old Courageous class carriers who will escort the brand new Ark Royal and Bulwark? The Admiralty wouldn't want to waste the new KGVs and the old QEs/'R's are too slow. It just has to be new tonnage, or so the Admiralty will argue. ;)

truth is life - Vote received and counted.

lifeless - Long time no see I think.

Duritz - You walk a dangerous line by not declaring Rudd a paragon of truth and virtue, be warned even loyal party apologists can never be truly safe from the next purge. Your continued use of the internet may soon be undesirable.

Davout - Never distract a Labour supporter with the facts, it confuses them and they can get violently upset. Blanket unsupported statements of dogma are all they can understand.

Don't let past voting dissuade you, this thread operates on the one man, many votes system. Some may mock such a system but it's at least as sensible as "Mixed member proportional representation with overhang balance seats". More importantly the system is understood by the electorate, unlike most forms of PR.

Carlstadt Boy - You might think that, but I couldn't possibly comment. :D

Tanks and Trucks - VI Votes
Schisms and Scheming - XII Votes
Battle-cruisers and Dive Bombers - XIII Votes

Amazing progress by Tanks as they increase their tally by 50%, putting themselves only more votes than they currently have behind the leader! In actually likely to win news Naval has snatched the lead from Scheming with only a day and a half to go. Truly neck and neck voting.

additional vote for scheming please.

that should mean.....:eek:

my vote produces a tie breaker again!!!

you'd almost think i did it on purpose.....:cool:

later, caff

Battlecruisers. Why? Because I designed the Best of the Best Battlecruiser EVER. Hence I can laugh at whatever BCs you can bring up. :p:D

I just found out that it's a one man many vote system. Should I write a computer program that outputs an infinite amount of "naval porn" votes?

EDIT:

#include <iostream>
using namespace std;
int main(){
while (true) cout << "NAVAL PORN!!!" << endl;
return 0;
}

Done, haha. :p If you don't cap the number of votes per person, I guess that's infinite votes for naval porn. ;)

caffran - Such cunning! Have you considered a career in cliffhangers?

gaiasabre11 - As always your twitching insecurity and rampant inferiority complex are a source of considerable amusement. :D

Bafflegab - If you keep up your work to purify democracy I may have to appoint you Voter Colonel!

gaiasabre11 - Don't be silly, you aren't eligible to vote for a whole host of amusing and arbitrary reasons.

GeneralHannibal - A vote you shall have.

Carlstadt Boy - I should have put some form of limit on this, in fact I shall put a limit on this.

HENCEFORTH - One vote per day per person.

Tanks and Trucks - VI Votes
Schisms and Scheming - XV Votes
Battle-cruisers and Dive Bombers - XIV Votes

Not looking good for tanks. Still I believe Australia will be getting up soon (assuming my timezones are right) so who knows what could happen?

Well, El Pip, glad that you're amused, because I'm amused too by you and your words of insecurities and delusions. ;)

Haha, I'm expecting you to say that, but if you do compile and run that piece of code I wrote, you'll get a good message of what's still lacking in this AAR. :p
