I vote for American supplied tractors being used as improvised AFVs in Spain

+1 +1 +1

You know when they say truth is stranger than fiction.......

Google "Disston tractor tank" - American AFV first produced in 1933

Kurt_Steiner - I can promise more tanks certainly, but I go no further. I dread to think what you call a 'real tank'!

Certainly, a tank is something different from the Vickers or the Cruisers (with the exception of the A34 and the A41) monstruosities :p.

I merely found the picture posted somewhere else. I myself would of course never deface the White Ensign like that!

Alas it is both Spain and Tractors by the looks of things, Landon is on course to lose out to hot ploughing action.....

Landon is from Kansas...I am sure he appreciates the finer points of ploughing.

Anyhow, I vote for him.

+1 Tractor ploughing agriculture.

How will the government deal with the National Union of Farmers? Purge them and string their leaders up in town squares and Women's Institute halls up and down the land, or negotiate and end up with collectivization cooperatives?

Knowing El Pip it's probably a mix of both.

What with all the RL political games being played over here...I say its high time we hearken back to an earlier and better time...when US politics can be talked about as though they were an afterthought to THE BRITISH EMPIRE'S struggles...

+1 to USA politics!

Tractors and Trailers! :p

And whoever got the idea of not waiting for the 3000th reply to be an update?

Though I must say, Sir Humphrey has raised political aspects of the tractor "revolution" that certainly do deserve their own update. ;)

Tractors +1. Maybe we will see farmers driving their tractors through municipal streets spreading muck about in protest over lack of or to much government action/inaction?

Sir Humphrey - It would bring a whole new meaning to the phrase 'Dig for Victory'. :)

C&D - You have an interesting definition of 'greatest men in history', in fact I don't think I've ever encountered a non-convict with a similar definition!

Duritz - "Vote early, vote often" is the motto of many Labour Partys the world over, after all if they had to rely on honest elections they'd never win anything!

I hope I can get the update out before the Aussie government adds Paradox to their great moral firewall. Still the Man in Canberra knows what bits of the internet are best for you so you should be grateful. :p

TheExecuter - There will be butterflies everywhere, just the order is being debated.

Davout - Alas you under-estimated the low down tricks the US party would stoop to in order to try and manufacture a US comeback. Extending voting to another page was fiendishly cunning!

Carlstadt Boy - That shouldn't be too hard, though I wonder how many other AARs round here will have sections on the international beef trade?

Derek Pullem - I was aware of that 'invention' but had tried to suppress it.

Kurt_Steiner - Hmmm. There will be different tanks. That good enough?

trekaddict - I never for one moment suspected you would, it would be most unlike you.

Nathan Madien - Cunning sir, most cunning. This extra page may prompt the US fightback. Certainly it couldn't make this worse (barring Sir H inventing another category!)

Sir Humphrey - The National Farmer's Union is an employers union not a traditional employee trade union. Farm labourers never got round to organising their own union for some reason, too much cider is my guess. :D

trekaddict - The carrot and stick is a trusted combination for almost every situation. ;)

TheExecuter - A nobler age and certainly simpler for all involved.

Ciryandor - US Special Forces nobbled the 3000th post plan.

DonnieBaseball - Short of tractor porn I'm going to need something to pad out this damned agriculture update, politics is as good as anything else!

Sir Humphrey - Only if Labour get into power. The farming vote can be relied upon to not complain too much about a Tory government, they daren't risk the rural-hating Labour party getting in!

KaiserMuffin - I do hope you didn't sniff that too much, could be unpleasant!

Nathan Madien - Weekend work, never pleasant. I had the shock of discovering a colleague was in the office last Saturday morning at 8:00 am. Madness I tell you, madness.

Spain - 25
US - 14
Tractors - 19

A slight tightening of the race, a fine rally by the US has seen them burst into double figures and at least ensure a respectable outcome. Time continues to run down, though at what pace who knows? I'd hope to have the update finished this weekend, but frankly that's little more than an aspiration so I wouldn't expect anything if I were you.
